none and buckley's?

too bad Toyota's usual modus operandii of 'rock up, dump a shit-load of money on the problem, win' didn't come to fruition. 7 years, not once on the top podium spot. ouch

F1's a very different beast to other motorsport discilpines

might have been different if they threw more money at a real good experienced driver? They've had the raw pace on a few occassions over the years.

Reaing EVO a few issues back they wre talking about the new McLaren road car and his focus on making that part of the business work.

Does anybody remember the number of cars that must be on the grid otherwise promoters can murder Bernie? Forgetting the new teams for a minute.

Sauber and Toyota gone, and possibly Renault. ( i expect them to pull out, i dont care that they signed Kubica). So thats only 14 cars on the grid. I am half expecting one of the new teams to pull out, or at least fall over mid season when their hack has been or rookie driver bins too many cars and they cant keep pace with actual chassis etc etc

So is it 16 cars that must be on the grid as promised to even promoters? I think Bernie is going to have to get busy with some support for some people

Spot on. He's running the sports car and automotive technology section of the business now.

The day to day running of the race team is Whitmarsh's gig.

24 car at the moment Roy, minimum in most of the contracts is 14 cars, so 5 more teams can drop out before Bernie has any issues that way, and all he'll do at that stage is enforce the rule regarding to top teams needing to field 3 cars.

    • So I'm going to have to keep ignoring the 4.7 update, or whatever version it is? Poop. I was hoping you'd put me out of my misery.
    • We have a huge update coming in the next few months, version 5 of Invision will be released. I'm holding off any changes until after this change as I'm not sure what features will be removed or introduced.
    • Yeah, plenty of air flow, there is a dedicated path that feeds the air in to the OEM intake tube behind the bumper As for a "tangible effect", maybe, but getting the pod/intake air out of the hot engine bay is worth it psychologically to me, even if it gives no performance difference, so the tangible effect in my Lizard brain saysss yessss  In the end, to me a tangible effect isn't always about performance, sometimes it a sound or a look, or even a...... feeling  Ooga-Chaka Ooga-Ooga Ooga-Chaka Ooga-Ooga Ooga-Chaka Ooga-Ooga Ooga-Chaka Ooga-Ooga
    • yeah first and reverse is where you will find clutch release issues (whether hydraulic or mechanical) because the difference in revs required is the highest there; particularly changing down from 2nd to 1st when still moving. To be clearer though, it is possible that the clutch release bearing is the wrong height. This is less likely than a hydraulic issue but it is not unheard of when you are mixing and matching
