Yet another keyboard god that knows everything from behind the computer screen just ask him....

Try geting some real world experience old boy instead of just reading the interwebs then thinking your an expert on everything

dude, Hadouken wasn't even having a go at you, he was commenting on the Canadian GTR vid posted above. You're (as in 'you are') taking swipes at people who aren't even talking about you.

If you honestly don't care, you certainly have a funny way of showing it....

and as for that Canadian GTR, in the link posted to the GTR forum... it says 94 octane, not VP 109, so about 98-100 here.... 470rwkw.... that's seriously impressive! Only 21psi as well!! That's a farken good effort as we know the numbers are legit.

*goes to have a word with my 26*

:D

He was actually right.

People are questioning things, that's the purpose of the forum. It does not give you the right to go on the personal against them all however - time to pull your head in.

Fair call by bad.

I definately don't know everything and I'm still learning i was simply trying to show my experiences in regards to my setup.

It just seemed like a few guys thought I had fabricated the dyno results out of thin air or something which gets frustrating after the dollars I have spent.

End rant

I think everything needs to lighten up as we are talking about cars here & not kids.

I too am extremely passionate about cars & I probably sometimes over do it as well haha, but we should all feel privileged that ppl choose to share their results of their pride & joy after heavy investment...does it honestly matter if someone is making mid 400's or high 400's? pffft

Mark-32: It is evident that you are making serious power on that track (don't need to be a rocket scientist to figure that one out). I'd like to see more ppl push the envelope like you have - congrats again & enjoy it.

Yeah I understand that and I wasnt even going to put the graphs up but someone pm'd me so I emailed them to him then he posted them up.

I dont have the recent graphs on me but the car now runs a haltech and with a normal boost curve on the same dyno it makes 430-450kw in 5th with a fair bit of wheelspin.

That figure seems to be the norm for dash 5's

Thanks mate appreciate it.

Dyno figures are not god and overule! Too many factors that can be changed to alter power readings

I would have to add something to that in saying it's more often not changing of figures rather than incorrect setup of the dyno. Strap it down too loose and the wheel pulls up too far on to the front roller and bam, there's another 50hp. Air temp in the wrong place (by mistake) or just an inaccurate uncalabrated dyno.

Most times the dyno operator isn't doing it intentionally but mph on a drag strip has always been the best way to determine how accurate that power figure is.

That is completely true but.....

I think SAU has been around long enough to be able to make claim to being the absolute best source of information available in the world. It's really nice for people to share their passion and their joy here but at the same time, the figures MUST be open to scrutiny if they are more than expected or even lower for that matter. It's a public forum, people have different opinions and knowledge.

The worst thing for us is when we build/tune a car that has a specific setup based on what a mate has or what he read on a forum and it doesn't get the result they hoped for. Sometimes by a long shot!. They go down the road and get a higher reading and then suddenly tuner #1 is a bad tuner or their dyno reads 'low'. Get a print out from the other that says 550hp in your 33 GTST but only run 122mph

Well f**k low, f**k it in its arse. Go out and run it down the 1/4. I guarantee you'll run the mph that's accurate for the power and weight you have.....if you make it to the end in one piece hehe.

Reading, learning from others and pulling ones head in can often make you a smarter man, but only when you know what information to listen to and what information to hear.

Finally someone with some backed up proof.

How much does your car weigh? I suspect you have more than 480kw

... why?

I used to run 136/8mph in '06 with just shy of 400rwkw and a little hit of gas (50hp). Full weight r32GTR.

Your mph suggests you have more like 620-650hp (462-485kw)

What did it make with the gas included?

lol, i can understand people thinking Ash is a flamin mongrel some times, ..lol, ..having said that, after being made a moderator

on another forum, it ain't as easy as it looks and gets old very quick..not many people have the time or the patience for it..as well as

it being unpaid for.. its all basically for the love..if you did it for a while, you'd be just as harsh or worse, i can guarantee it..

cheers

darren

It's all water off a ducks back to me really - but I know you get it Darren :)

End of the day people get their backs up too often when questioned... If they didn't want to be questioned, don't post.

Thread cleaned - I did try to give a friendly warning, seems it lasted about 4 posts and off topic it went again.

If its water off a ducks back then why delete my post.....

You still didn't answer my question either where is your 400kw results...?

Remembering what you said if you don't want to be questioned then don't post....

    • Apologies for the long post, but needed somewhere to lay out the entire timeline of events and actions taken:   I've got an 89 GTR with a R34 RB in it. It's been running great all year, driven probably 500KM in the last month. It's not my daily driver, just a weekend fun car.    Build info: R34 RB26 - HKS 2.7 stroker kit, HKS adjustable cam gears, HKS turbo upgrades, Trust intercooler, R34 factory DENSO 440cc injectors, JUN chipped/tuned R32 ECU. All of this work was performed in Japan back in 2019.    Thursday 10/2/25 - It's a nice day and decided I'll drive it to work, I start it up in the garage and I notice it took a few extra cranks and sounded a bit funny. I figure maybe it was just because it was a pretty chilly morning. I pull it out into the driveway to warm up a bit before leaving. As I leave the driveway, it feels very off and sounds like a misfire. I pull it back in the garage to deal with after work and take the daily to work. I was able to diagnose it as a cylinder 5 misfire with the old spark plug test (unplugging each plug until a sound change with the engine running). I take off the whole ignition system, ignitor, plugs, spark. *Important note, it is still on the R32 ignition system with the separate ignitor system. I test each system with a multi-meter and nothing presents as a smoking gun. I put it all back together and it starts up no issue. I go ahead and order the PRP R35 ignition conversion kit. It should arrive today (10/13/25)   Friday 10/3/25 - Another nice day, car starts up great and drives great all day. Very pleased that everything seems to be OK   Sunday 10/5/25 - Decided I'll take it to play some golf, load up and drive to the course about 25 minutes away. Drives wonderful the whole way there, I pull in the parking lot and the engine completely comes to a stop. I do not recall if it sputtered at all, but just remember all of the sudden the engine was off. I roll it into a parking spot, try to crank it back on and nothing.  It'll crank and crank and not even try to start. End up getting it towed back to my house and push it up into the garage.    Items I have checked: Fuel in the tank Fuel Pump relay Fuel pump fuse  Spark Plugs & gap Coil packs Ignitor    I know the cylinders are getting fuel as the plugs smell like fuel after a start attempt. I tried spraying starter fluid into the manifold and cranking and not even a sputter.    I decided to do the live CAS test (removing the the CAS, ignition on and spinning the CAS stalk to see if the injectors pulse and spark is active). All of the injectors were pulsing and I have spark at the plug. The half-moon end of the CAS did seem very loose, I'm not sure how much play is supposed to be there, but it was more than I expected. There was no in/out play of the shaft, just the tip end that is pinned on had quite a bit of play.    CAS Play video   When I put the CAS back in, I stupidly did not re-time the engine. I know I need to do that tonight, however, I do not think it will start given it seemingly was not the issue. My plan is to do the PRP R35 coil kit and retime the engine at the same time.    I plan on ordering the Haltech Nexus Plug-in ECU once they are available again, but ideally would like to get this sorted before firing the parts cannon at it and potentially adding more variables.    Anything glaring that I am missing here, I'm a bit at a loss?
    • Get it on a dyno. Get something logging Consult. Run it up and find out what is causing it.
    • Looking for a plenum for rb25 de+t neo  Not looking to push much power maybe 300kw at the wheels, is there much difference in flow for Freddy “Greddy style” compared to original Greddy or options like Proflow or Otaku garage?    I won’t be porting the de Neo head for now as I think it’ll be fine 280-300rwkw but appreciate the help and any experiences anyone has between them and any advice. Thanks  Looking at this plenum for now below
