Rego, Buying Car Without Plates?

Hey, I "might" be buy this r33 in a week, or 2. and the guys plates run out on feb, and the plates are his name, i dnt want the plates with the car. i wanna put my own on it, if i buy the car, how do i get it home? (without plates) can vic roads give me temporary ones?

just get him to change the plates.. not hard.. he can get normal plates put on and his personal ones taken off..

If the car doesn't have plates (or rego has expired), you will need to purchase a temporary permit from Vicroads. Periods vary, from memory 1 day / 7 days / 28 days.

RWC usually lasts 30 days from date of issue.

yeah 30days or x amount of k's in QLD.. i think what he's saying is there is rego and plates on the car but the guy wants to keep his personal's.. the guy i bought my car off had parsonal plates and wished to keep them.. so he transfered new plates onto the car before i got it..

you;d want a road wrothy for the car to ensure that it all passes or extra $$$ to fix any problems

yup... just go to vic roads with all the car's (and your) details and get a temporary moving permit....

also remember you'll have to pre pay your petrol

(which means you havent got numberplates on the car).. then if you was to go to a servo.. they gonna be highly suspicious of you "stealing" petrol.. be funny if your half filling and the cops come screeching in and point guns at you.. you'd drop to the ground crying and piss your pants LOL

yeh you'd think that ay but i wouldnt be surprised at all if i bought a car and it was on empty lol, common courtecy (cant spell) unfortunatly isnt so common anymore
