All,

Speaking with Dave from Moto concepts he offered up the EC skidpan on any moto concept bike day, because it’s sitting there not getting used. Dave's suggestion was to aim for a weekend in November. Dave must supply an instructor for the day and the cost is still a little high, but because of the weekend factor there is a stronger chance of getting higher numbers.

Cost ? 40 people at $50 each. There should be ample time for everyone to get plenty of spins.

If you all could let me know indicative number of interested people we can see if this will fly.

This represents good value in my eyes, so if we can get close to the numbers I will pick a date and post up.

Thanks

ah, cancel the q in the other thread.

When you say Dave would have to supply an instructor, what if the club sub-letted the track and ran it on our own CAMS insurance? Any idea on the price for just the skidpan?

Dino, do you know what we would need to do this?

And there is a fun looking figure 8 skidpan over behind the medical centre now too :)

Oh, and I'm in BTW :P

Fark yeah - I'm in !

40 cars sounds like lot though - what about 20 cars @ $100 each ?

If you do the math - 1 car on the skid pan at a time - say 1 minute (at least) for the fang - that's a wait of 39 minutes between fangs.

What about 20 x 2 - am and pm sessions.

Anyway - it'll work out.

If we were going to do a Club day at the skidpan we would need a Clerk of the Course etc. As it's an event where the cars are in motion CAMS require supp. regs and officials (unlike the Concours).

From memory the skid pan is $1500 for the whole day, $750 for 1/2 day.

So if Dave is charging $2000 it's not too bad a deal I guess.

Like most team trackday events, no membership needed. Unless the numbers get too big, the events are expended to friends who have nothing to do with this forum as well.

Numbers so Far 11 people, 29 still needed.

Or an increase in price?

    • Does it also misfire equally when revving?   Josh is very correct in what you should do. The coilpack harness wiring loom itself is a known problem due to its age and the number of heat cycles it has gone through. Throwing parts at a vehicle to diagnose the issue isn't a smart or good way to do it. Secondly, you may have a bad coil pack, you pop replacements in, they fix that issue, but messing with the harness breaks it, so the issue persists. So now you think "well it wasn't the coil packs" and have to continue chasing your tail, potentially swapping back in your shit coil packs and returning the good ones (yes, I've seen people do this because 'it wasn't the problem' and they want to save money). And suddenly, you've got two issues with the same symptoms...   Diagnose, don't use the spare parts shotgun.
