any chance of integrating donations for the Bushfire victims?

lol was thinking about that last night and today, came home to post.

was thinking if its cool with everyone on here if we make it $50 each car, and $10 of that goes to red cross fire appeal, or what ever is working directly with the bush fire victims.

if we get the all clear here, i'll head it up with Ray tomorrow after work. dont think it should be a problem though, for a damn good cause

maybe even set up a giant box or bin and just donate over the course of the night.

if all fire trucks weren't busy could get one down for a bit of support to open the pockets of punters. even try get it on the dyno !

Im pretty sure i will come down as well.....its gonna be my first dyno day as well. Very interested to see what she's making.......I'm pretty sure given the circumstances most people would be more then happy with the idea of donating the extra $10 to the Bushfire victims!

This is now officially a fund raising effort.

Brings money, clothes, manchester and your blood!!

WE are working on getting some big prizes for the night too.

More details will be released soon and spread the word.

go matty !

can we see a fire twuck ?

got a fair bit of clothes i was gonna toss to the op shop. no more !

but i think they dont want anymore clothes. saying they have three halls full of clothes.

SAVEMORE supermarket. Princess hwy next door bunnings at sandown big yellow building.

i used to work there, really cheap stuff for bulk !

they loaded up 2 trucks for the tsunami appeal for free, (but those dudes had red cross uniforms)

sure i could fill the wagon up with 100bucks. if people wanna make a time to go there and purchase?

these places (fire effected) aren't that far away... perhaps we could all cruise up with full car loads of stuff? too bad the import community is mainly coupes with shithouse boot space :D come on Stagea owners.... "WAGONS..... HOOOOOooooohh"

:D

It looks like i am driving up thurs/friday with a few NS people... making use of my boot!

you listen to 3aw mate ?

they keep people up to date on what there short on, they had no sugar drinks ' powerade , gaderde' next thing they got a pallet full.

really handy if you dont want your shit go to waste.

i would join ya, but just dropped the car off, hope its done by friday night though

    • The real question is, on some of those wild roads they call highways, how many times did a farmer in an old ute from the early 2000s blaze past you over double lines?   Tassie is a wild and really cool place, and after doing a work related road trip there January of 24, I understand why Targa Tasmania is ran there, and is so tough to do well at! We had a brand new Camry Hybrid that handled quite nicely, and thankfully weren't in an old car, because cresting some of those hills in a 100kmh zone for it to suddenly be like "surprise f**kers, this is a recommended 30kmh hard right turn" wouldn't be pretty. We weren't racing the Camry around, but we weren't slouching in the bends either. But my lord those old farmers know their old clapped out utes, and those roads, as they were absolutely hammering it!   You're also super lucky to make it up to Mt Wellingtong this time of year. It's often road closed with snow/ice! Also, I hope you hit up Salamander Road in Hobart for some insanely good food (I highly recommend the dimly lit Irish pub for a Guiness Pie, or even the bangers and mash!!!)   How long did the Ferry take to get across? I want to do a road trip of Tas on my own time, but I get horrifically sea sick, and I don't want me on the Ferry, just the car 😛
    • So far so good, about 30km on it so far and nothing out of sorts yet thankfully
    • Look at @Kinkstaah's thread on the issue.
    • Hmm not really, I'd say its race car life or modified car life when you make 3 or 4 times the power Nissan designed the car for lol.
    • I'll let others with more breakage chime in, but I can't think of anyone who had a problem with the standard centre plate before they had a problem with the standard gears - the plate generally just gets replaced for safety when the gearset is upgraded. As for the gearsets, its not like they are OK at 600Nm and break at 601. Their longevity is a combination of how much torque you are making and how gentle you are on shifts (or not).
