The value sounds about right for a stock standard early R33 GTST... but that premium is pretty high! Bad area? Previous claims? Poor driving history?

Age is a big factor here i think. It has changed since you were 21 Vu :P

First year with Just Car needs to be upfront and after that you can choose to pay monthly/half yearly... that's what they told me awhile back.

This has been my first year with just car's and i am paying by the month. Got to love car shows :D massive discounts to be had

Driving history is perfect, live in fairly upmarket area and no claims have been made...

I called just car, they want the first year up front and then the year after may be paid monthly...

Mods: saber FMI, turbo smart boost controller, 3 1/2 exhaust, wheels, body kit.... The usual...!

I think one thing that is letting me down on the max value is just over 200,000 ks on the clock... However I'm looking at changing the motor over the next few months. However I have had no problems with the motor I have now, so no point in the change...

:)

Got quoted $2300 premium with JC. I'm 18, car is 96 GTST, alarm, immobilizer, parked in an off the street lock up garage, in Stirling. Driven once a week, not my daily. Is it just me or is that ridiculous?

Hence why it is a $2300 premium mate. Also what is the excess if you do make a claim??

$2400 I believe. Yeah I know it sucks being a bit younger, even though I'm just as responsible as any other driver on the road, I guess it's just experience and decision making they are worried about..

Well statistically, you arent, thats why you pay more.

Nope, sounds about right.

Being as the stats say something like 1/4 people your age will put it into a tree it makes sense why it is high. I'm 24 and its still about $1k

28 yrs old.

I found just cars to be much cheaper, and better than sgic overall.

21500 value, 1500 excess. full comp. No history of crashes etc. $82 a month.

SGIC - value 12K wtf ? $90 odd a month. Big excess too. Cant remember.

shannons for the win here as well we have 3 cars with them the r33 skyline is agreed value the other 2 are market .. i cant remember the breakdown on the prices as its all billed at once but it's a lot cheaper than anywhere else we found .

if my mrs didnt have her health insurance tied up with the house insurance i would do the house thru them as well never had to make a claim so cant comment on that side of things but i dont think it would be a problem i havent heard any bad things on that side of things b4 .

Just hooked up with shannons. They didnt have a gts4 listed but they do now. They sent me my certificate with hr31 ! Have sinced updated

Anywho not a perfect driving record. 29 in a few weeks, dont live in the ghetto eg parawowee hackam west ! All mods listed with agreed value, 500 excess with monthly premium of 86 bucks for full comp. Goes down 20% next year for turning 29.

Agreed value is lower than i want but only cause i payed farg all for the car

im looking at getting insurance through just car, just done my quote over the internet. came back with $1829, im 19, have lost my license once, not to bad i guess

Adjust your excess mate, should be able to get it to around 1500, how much will they insure it for?

just cars - i got mine down to about 1400 from adjusting my excess. excess is now 3500 :/ 19 and full license never claimed. and i think they value my gtr at 15000, which is rediculous. must have it looked at, if it got stolen and i claimed it on insurance i would still be in debt .

    • What copper washer do you guys use on the bleeder bolts? The existing one I have I had no idea where to find it in a local store, I did buy some online but that are only 1mm thick whereas my old one is 2mm+ thick and when I put the new washer out and squeeze the top radiator hose I can hear a bit of air but not with the old one. Does this matter? The new one doesn't leak, but the inner diameter is a bit loose whereas the old one threads on the bolt.
    • Howdy all, after being out a few weeks ago on a spirited drive in my GTR I have 2 issues that oddly have appeared at the same time. Whilst accelerating quickly through the gears all of a sudden i’ve lost power at the top of third gear (below redline around 6000rpm) for no obvious reason.    From that point onwards the car has been running rich on idle, won’t really rev under load without a ton of black smoke and the odd backfire, and dying as a pull up to a set of lights unless I keep the revs up around 1500rpm. In addition when shutting down the car that same night (I was 10 minutes from home) I noticed one of the turbos was significantly noisy on wind down when shutting off the engine. After letting the car cool down overnight it starts up fine, although once it gets to temp the revs start to creep up and down, the exhaust is darker than it should be and it also sounds like it’s running rich (fat note) I’ve put a new set of plugs in it - no change, the old plugs all seemed OK with two of them being somewhat richer/fueled up than the other 3 with 1 being borderline. I’ve smoked tested the intake system via the front of the Turbos, found a split vacuum hose going to the factory boost gauge sender, which I have since replaced.  Also found another leak on the gasket coming off the rear turbo outlet, have also replaced this. After fixing both of these leaks - still have the running rich issue. I’ve also tried another pair of AFM’s - no change here After pulling off the front turbo intake pipes, there is obvious shaft play in the front turbo, which now hisses loudly on light revvs although I can’t see why this would make the car run funny even under idle. I’m curious to know why it’s running rich before I potentially replace/rebuild turbos. The car is completely stock <50,000kms  other than an exhaust. Oil and coolant are all clear. I haven’t bothered with coil packs as it looks like they won’t be the issue due to condition of the plugs. Any help appreciated as I cry myself to sleep!
    • No probs at all. I used to love trying to dig up obscure info for those in need where possible going back 20+ years on SAU.  I did have another look and couldn't come up with any closer match. I'm leaning towards those skirts in your first pic are custom fitments, cut down/extended or from another car entirely and modded to fit an R34 sedan. I would've thought someone in Japan had them and taken a photo at some stage over the last 2 decades but there's nothing. Someone out there must know surely.
    • Welcome mate. Any pics? Even with a DE I'd be well happy if I had that as a 1st car.
