My dream of purchasing a m35 has been shattered , my funds lost due to incorrect info from stock broker , now iv'e tried to go for a loan , found out i have a black mark on my credit list due to some unwise ventures years ago in my younger days , as financers dont want to fund grey imports , and the ones that do see the black mark and back off, even though i earn good money , still no go, so it has to be an aust delivery vehicle , or zip , SUBARU LIBERTY GT WAGON ????? ;) , KINDLY SEND A $2 DONATION TO HELP UNDER PRIVLAGED NON STAGEA OWNER , HELP FIGHT THIS ABOMANATION ON SOCIETY . LOL. :D

Sucks to hear that mate, finance companies are pretty blinkered when it comes to imports. Their thinking is that if most major insurers won't touch imports, there's gotta be a reason for that. How long ago was the mark against your name left? I think they expire after 7 years?

not good champ, i had a similar problem fixed it with a unsecured personal loan from westpac. they gave me the cash and then i went and found a car within my limit. then payed out the car loan with a home loan lol.... now i own the car!

u'll find a bank will be more then willing to help you if you're already a customer, and they can see all of your info infront of them.

save is an option , but with 2 teenage daughters , FARK !!!, THEY BLEED YOU DRY, went to my bank ,nab zip , as i said no worries for aust delivered car , just not a grey, so subaru here i come !!! i was originally going to buy a sub liberty gt wagon , until i saw the stagea nm35 , and thought value for money , awd , small cap engine = lower fuel consumption , theoretically , turbo , leather , etc , etc, BUUUUT , NOW have to go back to first option , still a good car the sub , but hey when compared to the stag , chalk & cheese ! any other cars that fit my criteriour you guy's can think of , eg , awd , turbo , aust delivery , jack shit from my field of view. :D

with 2 teenage daughters

Pity your not in SA. Cheffstagea and I would be more than happy to let you borrow a stag if you would introduce us..... haha!

on that topic, another good thing with having a stag, being a younger driver 18/19 I think when I do drive people places or go to chicks houses and their parents see my car i don

't get that skyline image thrown at me and no you cant drive with him that things to fast ect ect..

Yep ,trying to save is hard...to buymine we left a lot of staff apart(BTW my wife is really good saving when she focus on something)but yep...mortgage ,family, and all the probs around, hope you can find a way to get yourself in a stag ...good luck...

get the mrs a golf or mini!!!

why not rwd?

Hmmm, Golf would be cool as would a mini... Service costs and vehicle price are downers though (No. She does not like the old mini's  )

Also needs to have a bit of grunt (she is bored with the 165kw from the Magna :) )

Gotta have 4 doors and be smallish car (she loved her Mirage)

Why not rwd?

Since Alan put AWD ahead of all other preferences I figure it is pretty high on his list...

I sort of have the same problem, except I allready have my Stagea. Since my turbo died I tried going to the bank to extend my loan amount but now that I am casual not fulltime they wouldn't do it for me. Savings a bitch to since, I was unemployed for 2 months and got to get ourselves back on track with bills. Sorry to hear about your troubles. Hope you can work something out to get your car.

    • Absolute f*cking nightmare. I had to take breaks constantly, and I was always pissed off when I got home. The line split in Italy on day 2 (we drove from the Netherlands), lol. Driving any narrow European town was... well, sh*t.   Appreciate it man. Here, I'll just drop a favourite from the load I took on Saturday.   I'll update here when things happen with the car, the thing is, with stock power and almost everything chassis-wise taken care of, there really are no problems. 268,000kms now and counting.
    • Ah! I actually managed to snag a lightly used set.... that aren't so suitable for me right now. They don't work on a GTT without some cutting or creative heat moulding. I thought about reselling them myself cause I didn't want to murder them, but it looks like I'm probably going to attempt to murder them/melt them because I may as well. @GTSBoy @PranK can somebody close this thread?
    • Hey mate,  I have a set, one is slightly damaged but wont be noticable once installed.  Shoot me a message if your still after them
    • I couldn't wait But, the black constant tension hose clamps were too thick and there wasn't enough clearance at the T/B and I couldn't get it to seat properly, so I had use a silver one there I also added some 3" silicone over the alloy bit that goes through to hole on the radiator support as it looked like it was sitting on the edge of the hole in the radiator support, I never noticed a rattle or anything, but there was a witness mark It is basicly done, and I can live with the silver hose clamp at the T/B, I will get a black clamp for the head vent though where it is attached to the bulkhead fitting  It never stops...LOL, only issue now with the shock tower brace is it slightly touches the under bonnet liner now, if I leave it it will either wear some paint off the brace where it touches, or damage the liner, so I removed the liner to see what I have to work with, with the liner removed I have about 20mm of clearance, but sadly the middle part of the underside of the bonnet is only dusted with paint and looks crap, so I cannot have that, but.... as I have a roll of Carbuilders premium under bonnet insulation in the garage laying around that is only 5.5mm thick (we were going to use it on the boys Patrol, but he crashed the front of it a few months and it was written off, hence why he now drives my old Honda Accord Euro), I'll use the OEM liner as a template and get the Carbuilders stuff fitted up to cover that dusted paint up
