I am led to believe the Grey one in HPI #43 is FOR SALE. Check it out on pages 91 & 92

Contact Ben ELLIS from HPI Magazine on (02) 9741 3858

I have seen the car in the flesh and it's a minty condition car, VERY stock, but excellent condition and asking $8-10000.00 with 85K on the clock.

You would be hard pressed to find a better example and it's registered in NSW.

Check it out!

stu_r30 - That'd be benny's DR30 in the For Sale section. You're correct, it is a very nice car, gotta love that colour too!

Ghostrider - I believe that grey DR30 in HPI #43 has now been sold for $9,900, check the Autostyle website:

http://www.autostyle.com.au/cars_engine.asp

If I'm not mistaken, it's the third last Nissan in the list.

just wondering what either a turbo set up or the complete engine would be worth....im putting an l24e into my 1.2L hilux(1974)

gunna haul a55, but would haul more a55 with a turbo.

Option 1 Garage has an L20ET turbo & manifold on their web site.

But needed further is wiring, ECU, etc to make it all work.

More boost can be obtained using an FJ20DET turbo assembly.

Crimmo is what his face (can't remember his name) making all that stuff up for u?? Sounds like its goin to be a bloody tough car when ur finished with it!!

T shirts im up for one as well!! As far as arty designy stuff goes though im a shocker so no design's from this side of the fence!!

How would i go about doing this to my headlights?

thought you had a pic of a BMW for a second, if you want to do that try getting it air brushed on?? several coats as the light will shine through! that way paint stripper will fix it later..

theres a nice dr in the for sale section - 8g's i think, looks nice

and as for the shirt, matt, you've outdone yourself with that design...

seriously, would look pretty good and as others have sed, the r and 30 should be together  :D

car'nt take credit where credits not due, that design is ghostriders, but if you want i'll get a mate to draw up some of the ideas. this is some of his work..that shot is from the need for speed PC game and yes it is a r31 and r30 racing..mate drew the r31..his on line name is 75 degrees sideways..trying to get him to buy the purple dr benneys got forsale??

ive seen that thing done to lights before in some pictures when hunting around the net. they do it on that car with plastic over the lights im pretty sure, as the pic i saw was closer up than that one. not too sure how they do it exactly but its definately a proper plastic surround that you can get, probably coz some pple dont like the plain square lights :D

id say the best way to do it would be with stick on stuff similar to contact, you know like people use to stick on their headlights to do like 'eyelids' n stuff. i dunno where u get that from, car sticker places or watever i guess. just cut it to size and stick it on. then just peel it off and use some stuff to get rid of the sticky residue when ur done.

I would say its a different approach altogether.

remove the glass (by the way how do you do that, im trying to do that now), remove lenses and replace with a round sealed beam and then have some type of cover made to go over it. well thats how i picture it, and yes i though of bmw headlights when i thought that idea up!

somehow i wouldn't go to that degree

when i first got my car it had no headlights and i was thinking of getting ones from a s13 silvia that have that kind of look, i think they have 3 lights not 2 though?

    • Hi Guys, Does anyone know any aftermarket part numbers for a starter motor to suit the VQ25DET? I can find lots of alternative part number for the VQ35DE, which I assume would fit, but there is a lot of conflicting information out there. Thanks..
    • I don't understand how this hasn't boiled down to - Upgrade the turbo when you have everything required. ECU, injectors, fuel pump, turbo, etc. Do it all at once.  If you don't have everything required, just enjoy the car as it is and keep saving up your pennies.
    • Sounds like you've got an interesting adventure ahead here with local support if you have trouble! My guess is that, unboosted, you will be OK with a small upgrade like -9. What will happen is that once the stock ECU sees more airflow than it expects it will add a heap of fuel and pull a heap of timing to be safe because it can't understand how it could get that much air without there being an issue. You will see clouds of black smoke and it won't pull hard through the midrange and top end. So, overall it will be a bit frustrating but should be OK. If you are still nervous set the base timing back 2o through the CAS, but it will be even more sluggish everywhere. As said above through...this is not my guarantee your engine won't be blown into a million pieces, leaving you looking for very hard to find parts A better idea is get a computer with logging ASAP, wire in a wide band O2 sensor and a use remote tuner. I've done multiple cars this way and while it is not as good as a specific tune on a dyno they can get it 90% right. I'd suggest if you can afford an R33 GTR these days you can afford an ECU and tune. And if you can't afford that you sure won't be able to afford the rebuild if it goes bad in the meantime,.
    • Yeah it would be nice if someone took the time to put that sort of information together, but there are a lot of variations in looms. I think you are making this way hard for yourself if you just want to get it running....sourcing an SR20 with the right wiring will be a billion times easier than matching the RB loom to an S15 chassis. If you do end up going this way, you just need to trace every wire in the loom with a multimeter, 95% of them will go to a location you can confirm at the ECU.....and then post it up for the next person who needs it
    • Just top it up with water, and keep a general idea of how much you added. It is normal for water to be pushed into and pulled out of the reservoir through the cap, and it should not be more than half full or it will be likely to overflow when hot. Any decent mechanic can do a pressure test of the cooling system to confirm if you have a leak. Keep in mind if it is only leaking a little and when hot it may well evaporate before you see it hit the ground
