If there is any advice i can give ya mate

dont get the bendix pads....save some money and get lucas pads

bendix put out shitload of brake dust compared to the lucas

and lucas brakes better and can operate at a higher temperature

Theres nothing wrong with bendix. I've been using them for the last two years and have zero complaints, why change? I've never even heard of lucas pads, and I don't track the car so *shrug* why bother..

Yeah? I'm sure he said 135kw but maybe i heard wrongly. He couldn't print it out as he needed a new printer head! Mods is hi-flow panel filter, turbo back 3" exhaust, hi flow cat, mbc @ 9psi.

yeah they are rather dusty but i have grey rims anyhow so its not really an issue

I've know Shaun since pre-Boostworx days (well before) and I can't speak more highly of him. The business grew strongly in those early days from word of mouth alone.

Ha-ha, apologies Nick, it was I that killed the print head - a week or so back. It was already a bit dodgy, but after scrolling though heaps of dyno log data and printing off a few sheets I managed to kill it completely.

From my experience with completely standard RB25DET R33 engines the average power figure on a Dyno Dynamics dyno is 130-135rwkw.

Yep, spot on, Steve.

A completely standard R33 GTS25t (and I would assume RS4 in RWD) on the factory setting of 7 psi boost will return 125-135rwkw on DD dyno. At 9-10 psi with basic supporting modifications (exhaust and filter) that figure should increase to 145-150rwkw.

I have a DD dyno sheet from back in 1999, at the time my '33 had a pod filter, cat-back Trust exhaust, and was running 10psi via a bleed valve. From memory it recorded 148rwkw.

i made 195.6rwkw on the boostworx dyno

was very happy with the result of it

mods.....turbo back trust exhaust, pod filter, fmic, coil packs and bleeder on 13psi = 195.6rwkw

Spot on IMO.

My R32 GTST when 100% stock right down to the exhaust and cat made 110rwkw, 115rwkw with a little more timing and 125rwkw with the afr leaned out by Tim's (old rpm performance owner) good old fuel pressure reg bleeder.

Can't speak more highly of Shaun also. I have known Shaun since pre-boostworx days when he was helping out RPM.

A standard R33 RB25DET wouldn't even get close to 170rwkw on Shaun's current DD dyno. Not a hope in hell. When I state standard, I am talking about stock exhaust, stock 7psi boost, stock everything.

Even the old Boostworx dyno wouldn't have recorded 170rwkw for completely standard '33. The old dyno was about 15rwkw high - so a standard RB25DET '33 would record ~145rwkw.

On the current Boostworx DD dyno a standard R33 RB25DET will record ~130-135rwkw, much more than this and you have a freak or it is not standard.

Yep, that's about what I would expect for those modifications on the Boostworx dyno.

You have almost doubled the stock boost level (7psi + 6psi) completely opened up the restrictive exhaust and cooled the inlet air charge. I would guess that your '33 GTS25t is a series 2? The series 2 ECU responds quite well to basic mod's.

Nope its a r33 series 1 mate

i wasnt too suprised as with those mods on 7psi the car made 179rwkw on graham west dynos

and boostworx and graham west dynos are within 2rwkw of each other

my 32 GTR is going in for a pair of 2860r-5's next week.

mine had blown a few weeks ago, so i am really eager to get the car working again. its booked in for plugs and a tune too.

i am hoping for around the 250rwkw mark. but i guess well just wait and see how the car handles it.

it will be the first time i use boostworx so it will be interesting for me to find out whether all the good rap they get is true.

Another +1 for Boostworx. I've had the 100k service and a 10k service done there now, and the only complaint I had was that when they've refilled the radiator, they didn't fill it up properly with Distilled Water after putting the coolant concentrate in. So when I got home and had a look, my overflow bottle was empty and I couldn't see any coolant in the radiator... having just driven 45mins in peak hour traffic, I was a bit freaked out... esp as they'd have done the dyno run like that. But it only took another litre of demin water to top it up, and it's been going fine ever since.

But they're great guys to deal with and I'm quite happy with their services.

Another +1 for Boostworx. could have possibly just overlooked that i guess

they are pretty busy down there....they do some awesome work though

my 89 GTR is just stock with a full 3 in stainless exhaust and high flow cat.

and a couple of trust airnix pods.

its not that uncommon to get over the 250rwkw mark with the RB26 with a little more boost and better flowing exhaust and filters.

i just hope the turbos arent gonna be too laggy.

i suppose i dont have too long to wait!

    • From there, it is really just test and assemble. Plug the adapter cables from the unit into the back of the screen, then the other side to the car harness. Don't forget all the other plugs too! Run the cables behind the unit and screw it back into place (4 screws) and you should now have 3 cables to run from the top screen to the android unit. I ran them along the DS of the other AV units in the gap between their backets and the console, and used some corrugated tubing on the sharp edges of the bracket so the wires were safe. Plug the centre console and lower screen in temporarily and turn the car to ACC, the AV should fire up as normal. Hold the back button for 3 sec and Android should appear on the top screen. You need to set the input to Aux for audio (more on that later). I put the unit under the AC duct in the centre console, with the wifi antenna on top of the AC duct near the shifter, the bluetooth antenna on the AC duct under the centre console The GPS unit on top of the DS to AC duct; they all seem to work OK there are are out of the way. Neat cable routing is a pain. For the drive recorder I mounted it near the rear view mirror and run the cable in the headlining, across the a pillar and then down the inside of the a pillar seal to the DS lower dash. From there it goes across and to one USB input for the unit. The second USB input is attached to the ECUtec OBD dongle and the 3rd goes to the USB bulkhead connected I added in the centre console. This is how the centre console looks "tidied" up Note I didn't install the provided speaker, didn't use the 2.5mm IPod in line or the piggyback loom for the Ipod or change any DIP switches; they seem to only be required if you need to use the Ipod input rather than the AUX input. That's it, install done, I'll follow up with a separate post on how the unit works, but in summary it retains all factory functions and inputs (so I still use my phone to the car for calls), reverse still works like factory etc.
    • Place the new daughterboard in the case and mount it using the 3 small black rivets provided, and reconnect the 3 factory ribbon cables to the new board Then, use the 3 piggyback cables from the daughterboard into the factory board on top (there are stand offs in the case to keep them apart. and remember to reconnect the antenna and rear cover fan wires. 1 screw to hold the motherboard in place. Before closing the case, make a hole in the sticker covering a hole in the case and run the cable for the android unit into the plug there. The video forgot this step, so did I, so will you probably. Then redo the 4 screws on back, 2 each top and bottom, 3 each side and put the 2 brackets back on.....all ready to go and not that tricky really.      
    • Onto the android unit. You need to remove the top screen because there is a daughterboard to put inside the case. Each side vent pops out from clips; start at the bottom and carefully remove upwards (use a trim remover tool to avoid breaking anything). Then the lower screen and controls come out, 4 screws, a couple of clips (including 3 flimsy ones at the top) and 3 plugs on the rear. Then the upper screen, 4 screws and a bunch of plugs and she is out. From there, remove the mounting brackets (2 screws each), 4 screws on the rear, 2 screws top and bottom and 3 screws holding in the small plates on each side. When you remove the back cover (tight fit), watch out for the power cable for the fan, I removed it so I could put the back aside. The mainboard is held in by 1 screw in the middle, 1 aerial at the top and 3 ribbon cables. If you've ever done any laptop stuff the ribbon cables are OK to work with, just pop up the retainer and they slide out. If you are not familiar just grab a 12 year old from an iphone factory, they will know how it works The case should now look like this:
    • Switching the console was tricky. First there were 6 screws to remove, and also the little adapter loom and its screws had to come out. Also don't forget to remove the 2 screws holding the central locking receiver. Then there are 4 clips on either side....these were very tight in this case and needed careful persuading with a long flat screw driver....some force required but not enough to break them...this was probably the fiddliest part of the whole job. In my case I needed both the wiring loom and the central locking receiver module to swap across to the new one. That was it for the console, so "assembly is the reverse of disassembly"
