a little off topic,.

but how is the "performance" or a 1.3lt Jazz? is it a zippy little thing? and if say you had a boot full of shopping and 3 people in the car is it sluggish / irritatingly slow?

Ive been looking at getting one of these but was swaying more towards the 1.5ltr vtec engine. Not only because of the slightly larger engine but also because of the paddle shifts(in auto).

The 1.3 jazz is pretty good. have carried 3 other people in the car along with boot load of weekend gear - and has been very very good interms of zip. paddle shift would help in auto, but if you are going 1.3 go manual - its much better, more fun :D

emsta thanks,

unfortunatly buying a manual isnt an option as my fiance cant drive manual.

Did you test drive a 1.5ltr before deciding on the 1.3ltr?

I should just wait until I am back in australia and able to test drive both, im just too excited though and want to start looking at cars on carsales.

yeah thats cool man - i test drove both. 1.5 was good, but bought 1.3 cos it was just a wee bit better with petrol. Ideally best to wait till u get back, then you can test both and then go for it.

My thing is that if its just commuting aroudn the little streets, then 1.3ltrs is more than enough. Even fwy driving, its enough - however its better in manual. If you want auto - then chances are you will go the 1.5 cos its got more power and mates to the auto tranny better

lol nah man not selling the line yet! jazz is still up for sale though.

I did think about selling both and gettin a 4x4, but right now, being 27 and not married or with kids, i think the 4x4 will be a waste. Im better of having the jazz instead of the the 4x4 - as it is cheaper to run.

Hey mate its up to you but for me its easy, because the way i look at is, the second that you are born the time in your life starts ticking away, your here on this earth for a good time and not a long time, so have some fun do what ya want and live mate. I bought an r34gtr nur that cost me a fair bit and put the house on the back burners, now i am just going to have some fun with it, cruises, track days e.t.c

Mate have fun and do what makes you happy, thats what i don anyway, lol, butt too expensive

now im thinking i go for the cheaper house

say house is 160k

land is 150k

bank will see it as 310k loan (if approved)

but land is actually 120k

so total 280k

less home owners grant of 26k - equals to 254k for house

leaving about 56 for the loan remaining. Sell skyline for 13k - gives me about 69k

get a nice daily :O

you would be stupid to sacrifice that $ for a skyline

its much better in the house, but your call

and depending on the loan you get

they wont just give you $55k change to spend on whatever you like

invest it in something else

haha nah....the excess will actually just be paid back - basically it will look like a gain on the house regardless......oh and the r33 is staying for a couple of years longer :D

    • Mixing things up - installed some leather recaros to match the leather seat covered rear seats. Interior looks pretty schmick now except for some slight wear on the steering wheel which I will monitor and address if it becomes worse or actually noticeable!

    • I'm normally copping my own abuse from neglecting my daily drivers. "Those suspension bushes will last a bit more", "Don't worry about the oil leak, just keep topping it up". The project cars I'm always doing things slowly on them as I'm wanting them to be done better, and neater, and nicer. Luckily I don't have to deal with 18 year old Matt's "Learning to wire" stuff in the project cars. And there's only one piece of wiring I'm displeased about in the Landcruiser, and it's about to be cut out... However, the box loads of parts that have been going through this place lately for the Landcruiser... Brake pads Brake Rotors Full handbrake overhaul Wheel Bearings Seals Swivel hubs Steering Boxes Half the suspension joints Shocks Air bags (Ones to go in the rear springs for towing) Water pump Timing kit Lower timing case Harmonic Balancer Radiator Lots of other little seals and shits Gas struts for the bonnet New power window switches And god knows what else I've forgotten... Ha ha ha I have my fingers crossed the pinion seals don't start leaking on the diffs, that the transfer case doesn't leak, and the gearbox input shaft doesn't leak, nor the rear main seal. As they're about the only seals I haven't replaced in the driveline! I'm seriously eyeing off buying new caliper rebuild kits front and rear brake calipers... I'll probably recheck all the valve clearances soon too, and hopefully, it should be all good and sweet to haul some long distance trips again!
    • Every time I pull my 3x gauges out of the console and see the crack-addict way that I did the wiring, and I just can't bring myself to tear it all apart and "make it nice", because it is currently working. In fact, the last time I was in there I probably made it worse.
