JoeyJoJo (I might have missed this)but where are you travelling now to get your fuel. I am holding out on doing an E85 tune because I want to be able to drive to get fuel and not take a jerry can

Is there much in the East side of Vic now? Someone was trying to tell me a servo in Hastings has it.

Cheers

hoppers xing united.... but its sooo worth the trip...

i'm not gonna use anyone but united as they are looking like being the biggest supplier for the next couple of years.

as different places start to blend the ethanol with differing fuels 91 / 98 etc, i'm just gonna stick to tuning on the 91 ron blend that united offer as then i dont have to worry.

i'm not positive on dates, but united did say that kings way had it on their website for a while (it never did) and kingsway are due to have all their tanks replaced soon, so i'm guessing that's the next site. fingers crossed!

Hrmmmm, the missus live in werribee so hoppers aint too bad, but its a 100k drive for me just to get fuel.

Once there is one close to Dandy I will probably give it a go, probably need bigger injectors again:(

any car stands to make an increase, turbo cars moreso...... you have a highflow setup yes ash? if so expect a 280ish result

ye man highflow. going in to trent sometimes in Jan to get 670cc injectors installed and maybe cams if i can get my hands on some. mods apart from teh turbo is pretty similar to yours

highflow turbs

HKS intake and exhaust cam gears

denso 670CC injectors (to be installed in jan)

bosch fuel pump

Z32 AFM

Apexi PFC boost controller (to be installed in jan)

cams (still being looked into and hopefully installed in jan)

3" turbo back (might go decat)

will have need to have a chat with trent to see how it wll all go.

why did you get rid of vct?

have a good chat to trent about the cams, they are a lot of $$$ for what is in my opinion a negligible power gain.... unless you really destroy response

from the website...

Speak to Trent about JT's R33, T67 very responsive and makes killer power on PULP, still runs the VCT IIRC.

I have been in both Joey's and JT's R33, although Joey's is tad more responsive they are both great examples on how to tune an RB25.

i didnt. previous owner got the gears installed

just drive to hoppers to get fuel, as Hamish says, worth the trip.

My R34 is permanently on E85, street duties, track duties... E85 all the way :)

I got Creatd to highflow my stock injectors, because the stockers have a nice 4 hole pattern, they're now 780cc i believe.

SOMETHING NO ONE HAS MENTIONED IS OILS AND COMPATIBILITY WITH E85

Consider using oils that are methanol safe. Ive been speaking to a few engine builders and machinist involved in E85 powered race cars (hint) and wear is UP TO 20% FASTER than experienced on "normal " fuels.

something i did look into with my oil choices. I found some stuff saying Royal Purple was suited to E85, but to be honest i couldn't find a whole lot about it. Asked about it over at bitog.com but didn't get much of a response.

Did pretty much confirm that you need to change oil a decent amount more frequently due to the E85 though.

When you talk about wear Trent... are you talking on engine components or UOA of the oil? Hopefully you're talking about the oil :ninja:

not much, but some advice from bitog

"High PAO, low ester, high TBN IMO. You want something with excellent hydrolytic stability and acid fighting properties. Mobil 1 Extended Performance, Amsoil, and I think some grades of Fuchs would probably be great choices for you."

i'm running 5w30 Amsoil at the moment, previously 5w30 RP - but yeah, happy to try others if you've got the inside scoop Trent :ninja:

EDIT: the other thing i found, which isn't much, is that for the owners manuals of the u.s. flex fuel cars, they don't recommend any specific oil, just that it needs to be changed more regularly (3,000 miles seems to be the norm)

    • You still want a proper tune on the stock ECU though. Stock tune + stock ECU with GT-SS/-9s is probably playing with fire if you're running more than stock airflow/power.

    • Definitely a hearty eater when we go out, I consider these meals my cheat day as I've been watching my calories in and calories out pretty hard since my little fun size stroke, I've gone from a fat boy of 89 Kg, I'm only 165cm tall/short, down to a almost semi lean 73 Kg over the last few years, I'm currently around 17% body fat which my doctor is very happy with, but, my goal is to slowly get down to and maintain 15%,so yeah, I want all of the protein, carbs, fats and sugars when I go out for a binge
    • There was a great one on Victoria Rd in Gladesville too back in the day. I can only assume GTSBoy is thinking of the mill up on the wollondilly, no restaurant there any more but they have restored the original steam engine on site and run it every few months, have an annual steampunk festival etc @The Bogan, you came to the wrong town for restaurants. we have a few reasonable asian and indian options but the Paragon is as good as it gets otherwise. That brewery is apparently just opened, been meaning to give it a go some time. The Highlands have plenty of fancy options but I suspect you are more a hearty eater than fancy eater
