lol or underbelly 3

episode 1. skyline is stolen

episode 2. skyline is stolen

episode 3. skyline is stolen.

etc.... lol

but sriously farout! lol

Unfortunately I saw this car on the side of the road after what it looked like impacting the gutter sideways on my way home yesterday. I hope they catch the f**kers involved!

Just got referred to this website, the silver R33 that hit the gutter in Kambah was mine. Taken ~5:45 Monday afternoon. PM me if you want any details that may actually assist in regards to the white skyline this thread is about.

Good to see that people have each other's backs around Canberra, even people they don't know :D

  • 2 weeks later...

Finally saw MY car for the first time in 2 weeks. Out at Pickles, the cops AND NRMA failed to tell me it had been taken from police holding. Pathetic pricks probably aren't going to even assess it to get a quote for repairs because it's "too old". From the outside, the damage HARDLY looks bad. 4 ruined rims, f**ked suspension on one side (though they replace all as far as I know), and whatever else took a flogging in the way of steering / drivetrain. Though from looking under the car as best I could, not even the exhaust (sitting at 100mm clearance) has made contact with the ground on it's way up the gutter.

Should I at least try to demand they assess the car before calling it a write-off? I mean, other than the rims, not much else looked very damaged at all. The car was just sagged at the back obviously due to suspension damage.

OH! and the icing on the cake is...THE BASTARDS LEFT IT OUTSIDE @ PICKLES WITH THE WINDOW DOWN. IN THE STORM WE HAD THE OTHER DAY. Amazing...

Import = expensive to repair, and if the diff is stuffed I think you're better getting the money then a repaired car.

If anyone sees their CONFIRMED stolen car PM me if they want assistance.

If you want the cops, tell them you've got a gun and you're going to kill them. They will turn up then.

Of course I'd rather the money, but considering their methods of determining what to do about my car, and how they've treated it during this, I dare say the costs in repairing it might not be my problem soon.

Either way, I'm out of pocket $4k for a car I owned 2 months if they just give me the money.

i dont know if im being a little to careful but today i saw something very sus, there is a r33 parked in a busy carpark a car with 3 individuals (20 something wearing hoodies an those stupid Corey partyboy sunglasses) enters see the skyline stop about a meter away all three individuals look at the skyline then one of them gets on his phone while still looking at the skyline they drive a few meters park and wait in there car all three still look at the skyline for about 5min and then drive off...............everyone should read this as the skyline steeling is going to continue and by the looks of it they are picking their next victims. the skyline i mentioned is mine and i always have my eye it i know car thieves read forums its usually how they find out about your car so when i see something sus i take note of it

i say we buy a cheap 33 or 32 shell, fill it to the brim with explosives, park it somewhere, and wait

I hear my 33 could do with stock rims, then perhaps something to hold it up (collapsed shocks). Tow it somewhere and wait.

Takers?

i haven't had a car taken but had it vandalised and rims stolen (the problem was taken care of because it was in a small town where i know alot of people) i didnt get my rims back but my car was fixed but it was still a horrid horrid feeling!! I than upgraded my alarm but am about to do a serious alarm upgrade, everyone will know if someone so much as lifts my door handle when it is armed.. I am so paranoid about my car i literally park it outside my bedroom window and at the front door of work at one job and the back door at the other. (in other words i can always see it or hear it :) yay)

A birdie told me there has been a sh!t load of GPS trackers coming into ACT... seems to me like its only a matter of time before we catch ourselves a mouse in a trap.

Pm me details please. i need 3.

    • Yeah I suspect even if you hold airmass per cycle/cylinder constant if you get too far away from stock you're still going to have problems running the factory tune within the bounds of the factory load scale. Cams, different displacement/rod ratio, etc. I'm just lucky that the GTIII-SS with wastegate boost + CA compliance cats is pretty much equivalent to stock turbos. When I have actual space I can finally get it tuned and modify the fuel system for flex fuel to 100% handle any detonation concerns when cranking the boost to whatever those dinky turbos can put out.
    • I would say no, why, because my daughter, who also lives in Goulburn, hasn't recommended us going there Pity, as we miss all the German joints around in Sydney, actually, the restaurants are the only thing I really miss about Sydney, and a special mention to Ishibanboshi at Bondi Junction, their Kara-age Don is heart cloggingly deliciousness (always added a special boiled egg...or 2) 😋
    • Does that German restaurant still exist in the old place out the NW end of Goulburn? When I say "out the NW end of"...I am really being vague. It was 1997 when I was last there, and the only point of reference I can recall is that it was on the opposite side of the main drag from the big merino. And when I say "opposite side of the main drag", I don't mean "on the main drag". It was either a couple of streets back from there, or might have even been out in the sticks a bit further. Was an old farm building or mill or somesuch. And when I say "the big merino" I might actually be thinking of a completely different part of town, because I just looked on maps and the big bugger is not where I remembered him to be! The food was good, consisting largely of various German mystery-meat sausage/loaf things and kartofflen.
    • So while the second sentence is completely correct and the whole point of the conversation, the first sentence bears consideration. If this bloke is just hoping to throw big turbos on and drive it around, because there are no helpful facilities at all in his tropical paradise** then he likely has zero chance of even knowing what the TP is on the last column in the stock maps, let alone know whether the ECU is operating anywhere near it or past it. So the point is very very moot. And, per what I said before, at stock boost on those turbos, you may well be off the end of the map. **I'm just back from Vanuatu, so I know exactly what small Pacific nations can be like wrt paradise without requisite facilities. But it's not even that simple. I put a high flow on my car and had to drive it around without a proper tune because of the lack of opportunity*** to put the bigger AFM and injectors into it to allow it to be tuned. I had to turn the boost down to less than I had before, and back off the boost controller's ramp, because it was exploring parts of the map that it didn't drive in before, and really couldn't access for tuning on the dyno either, and so was pinging. It was still well within the last column, because when I first**** set up the Nistune on the Neo I rescaled all axes of the maps to give some more space to explore. ***Family dyno was broken ****This was 13 years ago, and the TIM thing wasn't a thing then and so TP would definitely grow when pushing past the stock tune's limits.
    • Yep, this bit another local owner. I caught it before putting the transmission back into the car, what I noticed was the pressure plate fingers weren't flat and even. It's more obvious with the pull style clutch because the throwout bearing ring was visibly not flat once everything is put together. Nismo should really update their instructions to call out this specific detail. I'm not even sure the clutch as-shipped orients everything properly.
