Well it looks like I've lunched my 1st hayabusa engine,,,the poor girl has no compression at all in any cylinders,,no broken cams and it looks like no bent valves. I'm a little confused at the moment.

What a pain in the arse,,,2 weeks out from my favourate track,,,, E/Creek.

Poo bum bloody piss bloody wee,,,oh I'm in a shit bad mood.

Think I'll take Roy for a walk and have a think about it.

Neil.

I looked into this earlier, but the wacky joining criteria made it prohibitive.

1. You must have blown up at LEAST 3 RB26s.

2. You must have burnt off your fingerprints (goes to the whole Raceworx black ops thing they have going on in the background. Racing is just a front.)

3. You must at all times have burns, bruises and cuts from welding, slamming doors on fingers and angle grinder "incidents".

4. You must wear king-gee shorts and prance around backyards pretending to work.

5. General dress requirements: Welders gloves and mu-mus.

:D

all true...but like all secret societies there are other criteria that must be met.

originally the criteria also intended rolling a car at a track, but we relaxed that when neil joined up.

Thanks Duncan,,,at least you made me laugh,,,. Roy's trying to chear me up as well,,,lots of sloopy kisses.

Ben original engine which admittedly has done tons of racing hours.

Andrew,,,funny you should ask that question,,,I have 2 somewhere with customs apparently,,,but we shouldn't go there at the moment for legal reasons.

Neil.

Just throw some oil down on the local spot for riders and sit by the side of the road for a guy to drop it. If you need a motor i know a guy in Melb that runs a bike shop and is the guy who might be able to get you back on track.

But surely rebuild is the way to go with so much aftermarket support for the things?

Spewing Neil, that really sucks mate :P

Im sure through insurance companies like shannons, insure my ride, wqbe they would have total loss gsxr1300's...

If your not rebuilding, maybe check out auctions or something?

Trouble is I've already bought 2 engines,,,I'm waiting for them to arrive.

I can't see E/Creek happening now.

Funny I was about to buy some more horsepower. Some nice big cams/sprockets, a good head job/bigger valves, JE pistons and a fully sick clutch setup.

Neil.

Now I've had time to look at my videos, I can see a lot of room for improvement - It felt good to get it out of 2nd gear for a change and you can see all the hillclimbs haven't been good for me in that area. But I guess the hillclimbs have been good for me in learning how to drive on cold tyres.

Anyway, here is one of my sessions from Sunday and as I said, I know there is still a lot of room for improvement.

It's all good Michele,,,we all have room for improvement.

Nice vid by the way,,,the pov's work great don't they.

I'm a little intrigued as to why you go out so quickly on your warm up lap,,,I would have thought with a car like yours,,,you would want to get heat into the brakes. Your at the fish hook and I'm still at the straight before the little left hander going up the hill. I noticed it as well at Oran park.

Andrew,,,I posted head job not cylinder porting on purpose just to see who would lay in the gutter,,,,Ha Ha you win buddy. :D:P:D I like Mr Banana.

Its hard to see in the video, but I was braking hard before most turns in the warm up lap, thats why I seem to corner so slow in the warm up lap, I get stuck into it, brake, into it, brake - but the video doesn't really show the hard braking as such. Once I can feel the tyres really working, then I feel more confident about my cornering speed. I can't afford to let the back end get away on me because that's where all the weight is, so have to be careful about my timing on pushing it into corners.

The POV camera is great, it even makes my car sound like a real car (my car sounded like a weird buzz with the other camera).

Do you think it's worth talking to Phil regarding an engine? He might know of something.

    • For race cars, this is one part where I find having the roll cage bar having gone through a hole in the floor better than the build it up on a ledge inside... The Merc I help on, the main hoop ends are marked on the car, and the jack is marked... Jack goes under a few inches and lifts one whole side of the car up... Removes that fight for long slim jacks for race car duties!   My biggest issue for the daily drivers I work on, is my jacks don't go high enough. The jacks start out on a few blocks, jack it up, then start a second jack under it on more blocks, and then I can get an axle stand under it. My axle stands are presently in use, and are nearly fully extended. The car is sitting with barely more than a cm of clearance to get the wheel off the studs! Sarah's Kluger is the same, as it has an ungodly amount of droop available in the suspension and a distinct lack of good jacking points!
    • Happy? Yep, my to do list is getting shorter and shorter. Either this light approaching is the end of the tunnel, or I'm about to be hit by a train... Ha ha ha   Also, Duncan isn't that far out of town that you need to make a multi day drive out of it. 😛
    • Sorry I meant that we are building the EH for a client.
    • LOL, when one "money pit" is never enough Noice, and excellent work mate
    • I have more than enough digging, laying blocks, moving gravel, airrating, feeding and top soiling the grass, and setting up the veggie gardens growing some seedlings,  and then removing all the unused rock to keep me busy for the next few months at least,  hopefully the rain stops soon so I can get a few hours in this arvo, but, before that Sunday is washing day, is every body happy, you bet your life we are Nice country road day drives are a day off whenever I'm muscle sore from all the landscaping at the moment, but, more epic multiple day drives will start once the majority of the big jobs outside are completed
