yes but sa road laws are different to vic, like i can have a pod, big fmic in sa there re heaps of different mods we can do legally but in vic you cant? and i got a massive list of mods to my car and we dont have emissions where im from ether. and a defect in vic wont affect the rego in sa because there not linked and wont show up on transport sa system? so really i can just rip if off and say it isnt there as such?

also do you have rally/race rego over here because i can get it quite easy over in sa, an since the car mainly dose race days and the od weekend drive i might be better getting it.

Ok so say they do defect you, you rip it off, get pulled over again, its still on our system, they then decide to impound your car.

Bullshit, i was driving normally when i got pulled over and defected, if you truly believe that cops dont go after skylines then you are fooling your self, all these newbies coming on here asking which bov makes the best noise and which exhaust makes the most noise makes us a target, hence why im selling my skyline and moving onto something just as fast if not faster but the cops dont even know what it is.

+1. I have been pulled over by cops just for the hell of it athough I drive conservatively and the car looks stock from the outside.

BTW, what car are you getting?

An aristo, some 2j goodness in a luxo barge, got a few mods left to do on the skyline before i get rid of it so will probably buy one in 6-12months.

if you know your selling you car why waste anymore money on it.

should save the 'mod cash' for an exhaust or somthing for the luxo barge. you getting the regular aristo everyone know's ? or that newer one thats full VIP?

There just mods i have wanted to do, will cost me under 1k tuned and will help me sell it, 210rwkw as opposed to 250rwkw, plus the paint needs a touch up, got a mate to do it just gotta wait till he is not busy doig his car or other mates in the queue.

Im planning on this model aristo:

Depends on how much is available when im ready to buy.

yeah i like the second pic better :verymad:

a dude had his at RE customs one day . . VIPTOY

whats cool is when you turn the car off, if your a bit of a chubby the steering wheel moves into the dash to give you room.

and once turned back on again the wheel goes back to the original position ! i thought that was cool anyway , and it looks the same as the lexus so cops wouldnt car about it

It depends where you drive in the northern suburbs. greenzy and Bundoora are all right for police. But drive up epping way and camberfield good luck i been pull up in my old stock R33 GTS-T and the police told me every time he see's any jap car he pulls them over and told me he doesnt want to see me in epping agen. And i was driveing normal at the time.

There is good area's and Bad.

after reading all this i must live in the best suburb of melbourne lol. i have driven past plenty of cops and they dont even look at my car, i have a front mount and exhaust. in a space of 20 mins i drove past 4 cop cars once and not one of them had a second glance also driven side by side with them at traffic lights and nothing. i have even been waved through booze buses even when i used to be on my p's. all up ive only been with the cops twice and both were booze buses, in a space of almost 4 years driving. i love where i live now :) .

p.s where i live they mainly pull over old unroadworthy cars, i see them alot on the side of the road with the yellow sticker.

Just out of curiosity, was it Sgt Gibson by any chance?

You know what is legal and illegal, stick to the legal mods for your car, you will be fine.

Where's the fun in that?! :P

I reckon the attention you get really depends on the area you live and the places you go, e.g. I still avoid Knox/Stud Rd like the plague.

Police who are out looking for defects and know what to look for will pull anything over that looks even slightly modded (i.e. lowered, big wheels, body kits, exhaust, BOV/induction noise, etc, etc.). Regular cops don't like loud BOV's and exhaust and that's about the extent of it. Without those you should be fine, as cops that know what to look for (e.g. HWP) are few and far between. My experience with regular cops has been, license check/breatho, pop the hood and explain that the BOV is stock and I go on my merry way.

Yeah for sure. :D

If you start putting on aftermarket BOV's, GT wings and ricer shit, your asking to be pulled up.

Stay away from that and you be fine.

Cool!

    • Don't even try to run it on the stock ECU if you're going to have the boost controller bring boost above ~10 psi. I've already told you that. If you use the Nistune ECU, you will need to CAREFULLY read the available documentation for Neo tuning, and read some threads on the Nistune forums, to discover the various things you have to do to prevent the ECU from going bananas when the boost is too high. The is a table associated with th boost sensor that must be modified to prevent it from shitting the bed. This is just one of the things that you will need to do to the tune in Nistune, because the Neo turbo ECU will be expecting to see a number of things (such as the TCS) that are not there, and you have to block the DTCs on those. It is totally not surprising to me that you are having the problems that you are, but the solutions to these problems have been known for >15 years. So just get it done.
    • Hi. Sry iam not a mechanic and iam not at the car atm so i dont know 100% but they told they measure those and even try to change those. AFM they have two. Coils are new a they have my old one too. Plugs too. ECU...we have 25 NEO stock and Nistune 25 NEO.   But i dont know if any one those could be the problem and why/if/what can cause this, Only thing they did not check is fuel...but that walbro 255 is new(like 1,5 years)... That fuel pressure gauge idk...but i let them know Any suggestions?   EDIT: how can they know if it is like you say he ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high? Tha car has boost controler
    • Can you clarify what you mean by boost cut, do you mean it misfires both when under load (driving) and when stationary and out of gear? Or does the ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high (boost control issue)? Does it occur at idle with no throttle? When you say "the ECU is OK", what ECU is it and why do you think it is OK? Have you used the NEO ECU, and if so do you have a MAP sensor attached? Same for the AFM, why do you think it is OK? Do you have any way to put a fuel pressure gauge on it (even just a mechanical one between the fuel filter and fuel rail)?
