Inner West Crew Whoretown (toowong/st Lucia/kenmore/indooroopilly And Sometimes Sunnybank?)

What does the loom do? I though most of the time the ones in the guards were to do with headlights and indicators.

I've lost my indicators and a couple of other little bits. Headlights are still ok and rest of the car is running as per normal. Chris is sorting it out tomorrow and I got some prices on some new rubber for the fronts. Will have a look and see if I can't jack it up a little further but they look like they are at 100% as is...

All I want is a front end I trust and right now I don't trust mine as far as I can throw it :( There must be some aspect of the front suspension setup I'm overlooking, surely the change from 225/45 to 235/45 can't be the only culprit here. Its only 4.5mm difference in the sidewall or 9mm overall.

Morning Mangs,

Too quiet in here :(

That sux dude :(.

Remember 225/45 to 235/45 is going to make the tyre WIDER and TALLER. So it could make a difference.

Yeah, it is different but who'd have thought that 10mm wider and 4.5mm higher would make so much difference. Once I get the loom sorted I'm thinking I'll go buy some 225/45 595 RS-R's for the fronts and keep the 235's as spares to replace the rears I'll no doubt ruin at the drag day ;)

Question for all. If under boost my car sounds like i am strangling a cat BUT only happens when cold what would that mean? Thinking turbo on the way out but hoping that isnt the problem.

Could be a dying turbo. Could just be a gasket or something too. worth checking out.

Customs clearance number speeds that up. average ex japan for me is 3-5 and 6-8 for the UK.

If it was gasket tho wouldnt it happen all the time and not just when cold? i am really hoping it is gasket <BR>Typical tho. First time i go to a track i get issues lol Edited by Kiwibob

I had no problem getting it here from the UK. Left the UK thursday night and I got it on Monday. I don't think Aus customs had a chance to blink it went through that fast.

Hold up has been sending it BACK to the UK for warranty (f*ck ever buying a phone overseas again). But it seems I can blame Joe for the holdup :P :

Urgh, my busted phone has been sitting in UK customs for 3 days. What's up with that?

I called them and told them to do so. Had to pull some strings but it was well worth it :nyaanyaa:

If it's a gasket it might just be on its way out at the moment so as the car heats up the gasket expands and fills the holes. When its cold it's contracted and leaves a bigger hole.

average ex japan through customs for us is about 20-25 minutes...:P

haha!!

your company is a 1000 times bigger than mine..

    • Great work! Thanks for documenting the process.
    • How would you even adjust the clutch if the pedal already has the correct free play? The operating cylinder has no adjustment in mounting position or rod length. On pull style clutches there is also no ability to adjust the bearing carrier. Push type I can see how adjusting the carrier height makes it all work.   If this is the twin plate clutch did you verify that your friction disks were oriented correctly? It's not mentioned in the directions at all you just have to notice that one side the friction disks have a part number on the hub fingers and a subtle coning to those fingers. Another thing that I noticed was if you put the friction disks in backwards the pressure plate fingers will not be even and flat when the clutch is installed.
    • yeah, mechanically, it is probably do-able, off the top of my head, there would be the transfer case, which I believe will bolt up to the rear of the RWD transmission, the shorter rear tail shaft. A front drive shaft, front diff, engine upper sump, front drive shafts, front hubs and front AWD struts (they are shaped around the front drive shafts), LCAs (at the very least from the front suspension) oil cooler.  You might want the rear diff from an AWD too, so you can be certain the front and rear diff rations are identical.  Who knows what brackets and mounts you might need.  So a whole doner car might be the best option if you need to maintain RHD. Then actually making it work, that would be a whole different story.
