I dont know if this makes sense, but i went to boarding school and alot of the asian guys always wanted to sort things out with big fights, or fight for fun, where as it seems that australians dont seem to be so much like that. Probably something you could trace back to the differences in our cultures....

By "culture" it might be a socio-economic thing - ie, non-white people having less money and thus more likely to resort to stealing and being in gangs.

I wouldn't say that I am racist, but I will readily admit that if I see a group of young men walking down the street, generally speaking I will be much more wary if they are asian or arab or islander than if they are white. Of course there are definitely exceptions, like if they were a bunch of white bikies or even drunk hooligans on a weekend (a group of white drunk men tends to be pretty scary).

I was once almost mugged by a group of white australian youths in Tempe, but fear gives you legs :P Plus I think they were all clueless dorks and wouldn't have known what to do with me if they caught me so they didn't try very hard to catch up. But I am just speaking in general terms, which is perhaps why I said "ethnic minority" in the first place. I didn't mean to offend anyone. (knowing my luck I've probably offended people again anyway).

For the record, I have several asian and arab friends and part asian myself.

well i'm asian so i can spot the dodgy ones straight away ... but i know what u mean ... if i was in a situation where my car was getting jacked i think i'd be so angry i dont' care what happens ... like if i go psycho and the guy gets badly injured well i couldnt' care less ... he deserves every bit of it ... my gfs a lawyer so i guess that helps LOL .. but yeah break the guys arms and legs i say!!!

wrx rammed the gtr from behind at the traffic light. guy was turning right. Didn't get out rightaway but turned intersection to swap details there. That's when it all went wrong.

I hope they catch them cause big bubba is hungry for some more young and fresh ass.

Problem is, it makes you want to speed more if you see any sus cun7s behind you. After hearing these stories i reckon i'd get nervous seein anymore than 2 guys in a rex following me. Plus if you speed away and they keep up then you kno somethin might be goin on.

It's a car, hand over the keys. Not worth getting a screwdriver in the eye.

If you can't afford insurance buy a staffy for the back seat and don't feed it before you go driving. :uh-huh:

lol, or even crazier, shoe-horn a Great Dane into the back seat.

I bet neil and mel never get car-jacked :)

Carby cleaner works better than mace - so I have heard. .....

Maybe you all should carry two harmless devices like the above carby cleaner and a cigarette lighter???

I not actually sure how these two devices interact but I'm sure some of you guys can work something out :bahaha:

T.

I think it is a conspricy!

Theory is that the Club lock companies are not making enough $$ due to better alarms and they hire people to do these things.

This brings back the old habbit of having a club lock in the car for self defence.

Johnny H is definitly behind this...

i haven't read the whoel thread yet, justthe first page, but yeah my suggestion in a matter like this would be (if your car is insured, if not the WTF) give them your keys, call the cops and run to a TV and hey, you get to see your car in a car chase and u don't have to goto jail for it ;)

Guys it's just a feckin' car.

If anyone thinks it's worth risking life for then they really need to take a hard look at their priorities.

I've gotta say I really had a laugh when some moron started talking about the calibre of their handgun. This is a car-related forum after all. I think in general the people who frequent this forum are rational people and I hope that new people here don't expect that this sort of crap is the rule.

Seems everyone's a hero behind a bloody keyboard!

Cheers,

Ben

    • Oil change does not trigger code 21. Code 21 is for coilpacks primary side connection. You can try to clear the code with a battery disconnect, hold down the brake pedal to drain capacitors through the brake lights with the ignition on for 10-15 seconds before you reconnect the battery. I have seen R35 coil conversion permanently cause this code with no ill effects so it might be the resistance it wants to see isn't quite right on one or more coilpacks. Could be inside the ECU, could be the harness, could be a coil. You can test it all if you want or just ignore until the car actually starts misfiring.
    • I forgot you have a Nistune ECU. Use Nistune to do all the tests I mentioned instead of faffing with 30+ year old electrical connectors. You can read MAF volts off that too, there are reference values in the service manual to tell you roughly what it should be in different conditions.
    • No. I think it might be the AFM. Hence the use of the terms "swaptronics", which implies the use of swapping out electronics for the purpose of diagnosis. It's about the only way to prove that a small/niggling/whatever problem with an AFM or a CAS or similar is actually caused by that AFM/CAS/whatever. A known good item swapped in that still gives the same problem is likely to be caused somewhere else. They're all the same. Spraying AFMs with cleaner is an each way bet between cleaning it and f**king it.
    • Oh wow! This might actually work amazingly. Do you know the ratio of the diff? I was told the only thing you need to make sure of is if the front & rear diff ratios are the same. Ours is a 4.083 Thanks!
    • You think its the AFM? I know its a common issues on R32s. I find it coincidental how this issue raised right after cleaning the fuel system. As everything except the fuel system was fine before. I tried running it with the IACV unplugged but did not notice a difference and still stalled. However, the RPM gauge is not in the cluster right now, so I will need to connect the laptop again and use Nistune to check the RPM. I will check this weekend.
