hi all....

a question just came out of my head, and its been bugging me a lot...lolz, hence why im writing this thread, as we all know all skylines has a twin turbo's like all the GTR's and single turbo's like Gtst's and GTT's, from R32 to R34's...now since the R35 GTR came out from the market to the streets now in some part of the world, my question is, are they goin to make a Single Turbo R35 in the near future?? or am i just tripping??

to be honest, if they do make a production of R35 Single turbo or R35 GTT or Gtst, i would be the first person to purchase the bloody thing...

is this goin to happen or what>??

any suggestions on my idea??

correct. We ALREADY have V35 & V36 non-turbo for the Skyline heritage with V6 engines...

... to which viewed isn't worthy to be a Skyline by some Skyline turbo inline six fanatics...

so basically the true SKYLINE IS DEAD.

We're only left with GTR which isn't Skyline, and V series Skylines that are not the Skylines as we knew them.

By that logic it also makes prince Skyline to C210\11 not a skyline.

Which means on this forum R32-R34 was only ever made

Someone please close this thread :thanks:

What about the 30 and 31, i believe both came out in japan with a straight six turbo?

I think turbo or non-turbo is not the issue for purist. it's the engine configuration (inline 6) where the purist's heart lies.

ever since V35 uses VQ instead of inline 6 engines back in the RB era and before (L20E) it's kind of considered as not really a Skyline anymore, cos V configuration engine is a thing for the Z cars...

that said, the late R34 GTR they use in the JGTC have actually used the VQ30DETT engine during 2003-2004 season instead of the good old RB26DETT... and the 2008 R35 JGTC car actually uses the V8 engine

I dont think they are a real skyline purely because the V35 was based on the 350Z which was designed by the yanks.

That's a rubbish statement if I ever heard one, it's called evolution it's just some people are stuck in the dark ages.

KPGC10 - S20 - Straight 6 - non turbo

KPGC110 - S20 - Straight 6 - non turbo

DR30 - FJ20 - Straight 4 - turbo

The "RB" is dead...not the Skyline.

don't get me wrong I totally agree with you... but I was speaking from an hypothetical inline engine fanatics "skyline is dead".

in my heart, my V35 is still as much Skyline as it can get... although I would get 'bashed' by those fanatics that lives in the past... just because I have a VQ engine now

+1 to your evolution

Actually the C210 came with an inline 6 turbo, the 2000GT-EX came with L20ET

    • I can see between the water jacket and cyl 3 there wasn't a hard line of combustion gas. It certainly appears that the issue is coming from there. Yes, checked the tension. All at 100ft lbs where I set them 5 years ago. These blocks can crack but generally when they have been over bored. Mine is only 0.5mm oversize at 89.5mm. They break between cylinders around the 91mm mark. No sign of that with mine. My gut feeling is the head gasket lifted a while back when the studs stretched and i bandaided it by retorquing the studs. It's finally let go.
