Fuel Consumption

Hi,

I heard from quite number of people that r33 or r34 can get at least 400 km per full tank.

Some of them can get 500 km per full tank even though they are driving hard.

My car can only get 350 km per full tank -> most likely the best.

Any idea?

Does SAFC improve the fuel consumption? or other stuff?

Slightly. At the moment I'm lucky to get 300km's to a tank... damn heavy right foot Its funny, I put my foot down and I can watch the fuel tank gauge going down

Driving short distances to and from work, I used to get ~400km to a tank.

I'm working a bit further out for a few months and now see around ~500km per tank.

If your getting bad eccon, you might have a dead O2 sensor.

That's the hard part - you can't really.

I saw a post a few days ago that one of the blokes put up, and it had a link to a site that showed you how to test it on the car.

Do a search and see what you come up with.

The reason I get shit fuel consumption at the moment, is that I'm running a big turbo and I just got it back from being tuned, so I'm driving it rather hard

Erik, From the dyno day your AFR's are very rich, an SAFC would improve your fuel consumption alot. Your running in the 9's, when it should be in the 12's:D

Erik, Stop n Start .... peak hour traffic is worst for fuel consumption .... unfortunately i get about 300km per tank just for that reason.

If you were on a freeway etc where you can keep speed constant and smooth .... you'll find you'll be able to get about 400 -450 out of it

I get 500km's regularly, and can get 550 taking it easy...

But after a day at the drags and a few hours of cruising, i'll be lucky to get 350km's...

I manage to get about 500 if I keep it off boost, and about 300 on boost:(

mine guzzles fuel!! ..... but thats partly my fault ..... i always accelerate hard.

haha once it guzzled a 1/4 of a tank between my house n cannington which is only 15mins away.

i have got 480km out of a full tank incl some hard driving, and 480km was when the fuel light first came on, so it would have gone further, autos generally chew more fuel too erik.

My fuel light comes on at 450kms, then i ride the fuel needle right down to 550kms! YEAH babay!

then i fill up 64L (of a 65L tank!)

and anyone who says that "running your tank low sucks in dirty fuel" can lick my balls.

Mine is manual anyway, I'll give it a try this week to see how's my fuel going if not SAFC is the way

I think you will find a SAFC is gonna do Sweet FA for your fuel consumption.

How about you sell me the neo turbo motor for $50 bucks and i'll give you a non turbo RB25 which is better on fuel ??

When I get to 300km's I start looking for a BP.... I've tried the 'stay off the gas for a week' to see if it gets better but as soon as I pull up at a set of lights and someone wants to go all that goes out the window...

My fuel light has never come on, and I have hopped to a fuel station once!!

Do the series 1 have a fuel light?
