No, no...

Just hasn't 'met' chook before, I knew it was a person just not sure who or how!!

Just thought Mr 'Buck' Rogers was the only messaih around here, didn't know there was another naughty boy.

(Check Monty Python if you don't understand)

As for the reference to Nth Melbourne, didn't you see the 'chookgate' scandal late last week?

Well this is the car i was keen on. You might understand why i didnt just go for a premium model...

But then i found out that its not a real deal s-tune, but rather a base model with just the body kit and wheels. No other nismo goodies in sight. It went for WAY too much, somebody must have thought it was real :D

The equivilent cost to us would be $38,000 landed and complied. Keep in mind that it is a 2004 base model with no leather, no tv, no bose system, and it didnt have any other nismo goodies (standard speedo, standard exhaust, standard suspension, etc). It did have a sunroof tho.

But yes, it is one hell of a hot car. I love the nismo kit especially with the bigger air dams and blacker headlights.

I have about 20 more photos if anybody wanted me to email them.

Way too much considering it's not a real S-tune and an early 2003-2004 model. but if it's a real S-tune you'd be having a headache if the engineer know it's not 'standard', you may be up for expensive compliance process or re-exportation...

I know prices can't compete to back when A$ was over 90 JPY, but for $38k+ in my opinion at the end of the day you'll be a lot happier if you have a premium... just keep looking till the right one turn up.

I agree.

You will be surprised how cheap they are now though, even with the yen at only 72. A 6 speed white 03 model non premium went for less than 1.1m fob the other day, which is what, $22k landed and complied??

Anyway. I dont like my chances of another nismo kitted one popping up soon, so i may just end up with a random premium of some sort..

Thanks for the help :D

    • Nah that is not actually a lot. Just painting my GTR frontend and the little bits to make sideskirts/nismo flare pieces work correctly/fit on the sedan/mount up correctly came to about $7000. Is it a lot? Sure. None of this is economical. Economy would be shelling the car and buying a 2010 Corolla to commute in. The perspective of all of this is different.
    • I have the 2025 build re003s’ on my 06 XT Forester Turbo and I quite rate them for street wet and dry
    • I don't see any issues here. I've been saying all along this is a big job, the price reflects that.  When the car comes back perfect I'm sure it will feel like money well spent.
    • Remember, take original quote. Double it. Then add a bit more. It's how any project goes.
    • So, I started this repair and got as far as "fixing" the holes with some fibreglass. God all those years working on boats came back quickly. I decided I'd reach out to some rust guys just to see what they would say about it. I came across a guy about 40 mins away and went to see him. He said the windscreen needs to come out, that there might be some more bits around the windscreen and he'd quote them at the time. But his quote was $300 to remove and replace windscreen and $3k for the damage he can see. He said he could respray the roof for $1200 and the bonnet for another $800 (somebody has previously rattle canned it, its horrendous). This is $5300 + any small additional bits. It's a lot, I get that and the name of one of my fave youtube channels 'Not Economically Viable' comes to mind.  I'm not being financially rational, but I've taken him up on the quote. He's opening a new shop in November with more room, so we're waiting for that. I'll leave the currently missing headliner out until then. I'm looking forward to it being fixed and having the paint looking nice again (lots of clear coat issues on the roof too). / flame suit on.
