I think it is 79%. If no one else weighs in to say differently l can plug it in & do a test. I do know that I can't get above 87%, ever.

No dramas Leon :) Scott pretty much hit the nail on the head with respect to what I was getting at, as he wasnt able to get around the sub 35kph 'restriction' by going to a manual throttle cable I think you could say that when you put your foot down it does open up the throttle but the restriction is caused by a secondary set of 'safeguards' I guess. It sounds like Craigs ECU isnt partaking in those safeguards though. Curious indeed :)

nismo ECU maybe??

i have a long way to go before i find out :(

It could well be the Nismo. I noticed a huge improvement in responsiveness 'down low' when I put hte Impul in but I wouldnt go so far as to say that it no longer retards down low - particularly given the amount of black exhaust fumes Ive seen spew out the back when taking off (Not even with my foot 'down'!) :whistling:

Just had a quick look at the G-Zone description again.

They do say that the "option" they can supply with their remap removes the throttle restriction in a similar way to the Nismo ECU - by modifying the variable valve timing, electric fan and also "start timing (temperature etc)".

hmm... So maybe the vManage WILL remove this restriction... and because it can work with the vv timing, perhaps the Fcon iS can as well.

because there is no piggyback for the throttle. the vmanage can interrupt the VTC signals, but nothing we have can adjust the throttle itself. except the HKS because its a standalone.

im talking piggybacks. and put yours hands up if youre running a full HKS F-Con?

ohh wait, thats no one lol

Who cares! Oh thats right, you need to pass a yearly inspection, and if you cut the cel wire the car goes into limp mode... Oh thats right, its already going to be in limp mode so who cares again... lol.

Had a Haltech Platnum series.....go rid of it a long time ago!

Now have a Nismo piggybacked with and E-Manage Ultimate......I have bugger all low end restrictions with throttle or Cam's......as seen first hand by PN-Mad both in 2WD and 4WD!

+1 on that

I felt like I was driving a 1.3 litre Hyundai Getz auto after that....

Anyways, I might be interesting to see what a 3.5, with no throttle restriction ( I think), Less fancy electronic cams retarding, and shorter 3.5 final drives will do... apparently 8psi is OK to run properly tuned on a stock motor- in a Z achieving about 270rwkw.

Now- can someone suggest a ECU - I have F all knowledge about computers and that shit- anyone have ECU proven results on a VQ35deT?

No throttle restriction with factory N/A ECU's.

eManage Ultimate has been used in turbo or supercharged G35's, Fcon iS and V-Pro have both been used (again G35, V35 and Z33's), I'm sure the Haltech 350z Premium would be up to it and I guess APS with their piggyback could also be done (works on Z33, G35/V35).

I guess you'll need a universal harness though... unless the Z33 eManage Ultimate harness (thus the HKS Z33 harness) fits - we are trying to find out for my mate's V35 GT8, but I haven't seen a PM35 ECU pinout :(

    • If it (the code) wasn't still current, it should have gone away by itself by now. No, nothing it 10/10. But it is quite likely. Everything else to do with the ignition could still be responsible (which is wires and connectors). The car is an old piece of shit now, so all the wires and connectors are also old pieces of shit.
    • Lock me in mate, although I'm not sure if I'll be heading up from Goulburn or down from Sydney, either way, return will be back to Goulburn
    • Sounds good, we will aim to be there! @The Bogan I'll give you a shout if you are heading up to campbelltown for the meet too.
    • Before I get to the test day, just to finish off the android head unit. This is a demo from car start up....the standard/host system takes a few seconds to boot (same as all v37) but Android comes up quickly. In this vid I'm using the delivered launcher but have set the default to Agami since which is easier to navigate when if use primarily 5 apps. You can see the host system still takes over when required eg putting it in reverse, and you can switch between Android and not by holding the back button 3 sec. It is pretty responsive (fast) but you can see I had to press harder than expected a couple of times.  I still have the phone connected to the stock system, and that also seamlessly takes over Android music playing. v37-android-demo.mp4 The bigger reason that I put this in though is so that I can use Ecutek directly on the head unit. That gives me a dash with logging (up to 20MB only), high and low value warnings on any parameter etc etc. I've run a USB cable from the Ecutek OBD dongle to a USB input on the unit, easy. v37-ecutek-demo.mp4   The unit did freeze on the launcher the other day, I think Agami was trying to verify the license when it didn't have a data connection...will monitor and report back if there are any other problems but so far I'm very happy with the upgrade.
    • Nah that is just crappy GPS mapping, I did have a small excursion (cold tyres, damp track, surprise!), will post up that when I get a chance.
