Does it have to have the aero kit?

it would be a alot better if it did... save me the hassle of finding one on IM or Yahoo

yeah aero kits are hard enough to find, with sunroofs will be even harder!

It seems that way...

Just asking because Northshore have a white RSfourV with sunroof, for sale... but no aero kit

I like the stock tv/sat nav tho... I'm just going to call them up and see what they can find in Japan... this will surely cost me more i think.....

Hello, Stephen Wanless san. How are you today?

Thank you for inquiry. We deal in JDM parts, but it is out of stock of the

used ECU although we were looking for it... We are sorry that it is unable

to

give a positive answer...

If we can do anything for you or you have any questions, please don't

hesitate to let us know.

We are looking forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely yours,

Argh!! We've got to have some luck with this eventually!

shit man lol no luck anywhere

Maybe we can take the tools to the meet on Sunday and borrow someones lol

Would have to be the person last to leave, that would make it Jetwreck :whistling:

Hope his ECU is the same

im thinking the ECUs are made by unisia not soley by hitachi. which is why mine doesnt have a sticker, its printed on. now, all the ones ive found on IM have stickers, being that they are the DD variety of engine. this is the first VQ engine with turbo (its a VQ30DET however) that doesnt have a sticker, its printed on the metal like mine!

i wonder were the DET models quite rare over there - compared to the amount of DE(DD) models. but as they all HAVE to be DET out here thats all we have seen..........

The alternative to an E-Manage Ultimate, an ECU remap may be in the pipeline!

Courtesy of Cam (iamhe77) we have located a suitable ECU for testing and development.

Once we have hold of this ECU I may need to call on people willing to go in and have their M35 4wd dyno tested and let the guys at Silverwater Automotive Service do their business.

It's going to cost roughly between $1200 - $1400 for the initial vehicle mapping but if you do further mods and require a retune the price is greatly reduced the second visit.

I would like to be the first one to do it but I've got to watch money at the moment as I'm out of work with a job in the pipeline that should have come through weeks ago. Hopefully I'll be back at work soon but until then I can't outlay that money. When I start working though the Stagea will be commuting about 150km a day so I'll be in a hurry for better fuel efficiency :D

If anyone else wants to be on the leading edge of this technology, let me know!! :D

I know quiet a few of you are interested in the outcome of the initial testing and development, so we'll need to make sure everything is posted up and all information in provided in a thread.

thanks for finding that Cam! i believe im the highest bidder lol

anyway, if this pans out to be workable and not a bad price, then ill move the emanage and get a remap. but if its too exy - and IMO 1200-1400 is too expensive - then ill stick to the emanage....

Way to go, thanks Iain :D

I agree that 1200-1400 is expensive but it depends on the outcomes IMO, if the tune via a remap can get better results than a piggyback I'm all for it, I just need to win the lottery :D

Also bare in mind that prices includes 4wd dyno runs etc etc to get the best tune for the vehicle being remapped, once they have done a test we'll have more of an indication of the price range and benefits etc.

I just came across this one on a gogglie search

http://translate.google.com.au/translate?h...l%3Den%26sa%3DG

This one has a slightly different number though, A56-R12 L31 2521, would be interesting to know what all the numbers mean :D

Taking that into consideration the important numbers are A56-R12 ?

The L31 2521 is the serial number? :P

Might explain why there is a bolder version of A56-R12 at the top of the printing on the left-hand side.

Nice work Cam!

I would get in on it but first I must find a Stag worthy enough of buying....

Someone got the ECU :)

They started jumping it up and took it from $39 to $104 AUD, someone (not sure if it was Iain) was competing with them via Import Monster but alas the other person got it :D

Oh well, the search for a test ECU resumes.

yeah it was me, total price went up to $271 so i stopped bidding, it was getting a little high mate............. sorry about that

That's ok, we had discussed a cut off point and it was only going to keep climbing, the other bidder was pretty keen for it.

No worries dude, keep eyes peeled for another one :D

    • Welcome to SAU, what are you looking at buying?
    • I checked the injectors again (1 and 2, since they’re easiest to access) to make sure they weren’t clogged. Even though the entire fuel system had been cleaned, I wanted to be certain. Everything looked clean, so I reinstalled and connected everything. When I started the car to confirm everything was okay, it immediately revved up high, so I shut it off straight away. I checked to see if I’d missed a vacuum hose or something, but everything was connected. On the second attempt, the car ran without the high idle, but I noticed a distinct “compressed air” sound coming from the engine bay. Tracing the sound, I pushed injector #6 forward slightly and the noise stopped — it turned out it wasn’t seated properly, despite the fuel rail being bolted down. While holding it in place, the car idled steadily without stalling and ran for over 5 minutes. At this point, I pulled all six injectors out just in case I hadn’t seated them correctly or dirt had gotten onto the O-rings. Unfortunately, I discovered that I had damaged 3 out of 6 injectors (the OEM 270cc ones) during installation. So yes, this was my fault. Since only the pintle caps were damaged, I’ve ordered a Fuel Injector Service Kit from NZEFI to refurbish them. In the meantime, I reinstalled my new injectors – the car now idles fine for over 15 minutes without stalling. I have not attempted to drive it so far. It’s not perfect yet, as it hesitates when the throttle is pressed, but it’s a big improvement. Unplugging the IACV with the new injectors idles at around 800rpm, even with the IACV screw tightened fully. But this is probably due to tune.
    • I wanted to try and preserve the front bumper as long as possible, they're not cheap and are made to order in Japan. Taking inspiration from my previous K11 Micra build where I made an undertray for the Impul bumper, I did the same for this BN Sports bumper but a little slimmed down.  This time round I only made a 'skid plate' (if that's the correct wording/term) for just the bumper surface area, the Micra version covered the gap like an undertray. Starting off with a sheet of mild steel approx. 0.9mm thick 4ft x 2ft in size. I traced around the bumper, cut it out and cleaned the edges. Luckily I was able to get two halves from one piece of metal In the video I installed it as is, but I've since then I've removed it to spray and add a rubber edging trim. The rubber trim is suitable for 1-2mm and it's a really nice tight fit. The bolts had to be loosened due to the plates being too tight against the bumper, the trim wouldn't push on I used some stainless M6 flat headed bolts for a flusher finish (rather than hex heads poking down), I believe this style fastener is used for furniture too incase you struggle to source some. The corner's are a little wider, but this may be an advantage incase I get close to bumping it  The front grill got some attention, finally getting round to repairing it. Upon removal one fixing pulled itself out of the plastic frame, one side is M8 that fixes inside of the frame, where as the other side is M5. Not knowing I could get replacements, I cut down an M8 bolt, threaded it inside the frame along with a decent amount of JB Weld.  The mesh was replaced to match the bumper. One hole on the bonnet/hood had to be drilled out to 8mm to accommodate the new stud, once the glue had set it could be refitted. I think the reason the grill was double meshed was to hide the horn/bonnet latch (which makes sense) but I much prefer it matching the bumper Bumper refitted and it's looking much better IMO The Youtube video can be seen here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bVZP35io9MA
