any dramas for you??

chubb... how are you settling into the new car?!?!? bit different hey?? no dramas?

I wish i was there!

O hai... its Ando...

Yeah thats why i am not too fussed.. it drives okayish... lots of shudder and gaids brakes but overall should be a relative easy fix... Yeah happy with the time but a little disappointed as i know i can go quicker..

Just really confused as to what the problem is... think could be busted bearings, warped disc, stuffed caliper.. who knows.... will get it fixed same time as clutch issues

Chubbs says oh hai liz!! Settling okay, just a new driving style i need to learn... but i will get there xoxoxoxoxoxox

finally home..

ended up getting it towed.

Thanks Brad and Steph to help out anyway, Looking forward to Oran Park now lol

I had a wicked day, best fun I have had in a long time... at the track anyway... lol.

Although my day started out all optistimistic that the Drift Z would arrive and I would get to tangle with the 1 min 30 somethings... and maybe even torch a set of tyres at mid day. Seems that turn 5 ruined that... and I wasn't even driving... lol, good one GTR Jason.

But no, was great to catch up with people, and great to meet the newbies... and see everyone enjoying grass roots motorsport. I really did have a blast, and have new found motovation to drag the skyzer back out of the shed... might even try to get it going for the hugely anticipated Merli GTR Super car MK1 debut in a months time. :D

Nismo... My pleasure mate, I expect to see you back with new tyres and suspension for Oran Park... where I'll drag my money pit out to. ;)

Stay Sidewayz Kidz,

Dan.

And lastly David... just lift off a bit mate.. lift off... BRAKES... BRAKE... PUT YOUR FOOT ON THE BRAKE!

lol.... sorry about that mate! ...right after you said "let's see if we can NOT see anybody spin off the track in the first session" too!!

Anyhow.. your tips were worth gold. I knocked an easy 2 seconds of my previous PB on the same shitty road tyres I ran last year. Thanks for organising a top day out. The only thing that stopped me from going out for one last session was an almost empty tank of fuel... and maybe the dead front pads.

Can't wait till the next one. Hopefully I can finally get some semis on the car and knock a few more seconds off :)

    • I know I have to get a wheel alignment but until then I just need to bring the rear tyres in a bit they're wearing to the belt on the inside and brand new on the outside edge. I did shorten the arms a bit but got it wrong now after a few klms the Slip and VDC lights come on. I'd just like to get it to a point where I can drive for another week or two before getting an alignment. I've had to pay a lot of other stuff recently so doing it myself is my only option
    • You just need a wheel alignment after, so just set them to the same as current and drive to the shop. As there are 2 upper links it may also be worth adding adjustable upper front links at the same time; these reduce bump steer when you move the camber (note that setting those correctly takes a lot longer as you have to recheck the camber at each length of the toe arm, through a range of movement, so you could just ignore that unless the handling becomes unpredictable)
    • I got adjustable after market rear camber arm to replace the stock one's because got sick of having to buy new rear tyres every few months. Can anyone please let me know what the best adjustment length would be. I don't have the old ones anymore to get measurements. I'm guessing the stock measurement minus a few mm would do it. Please any help on replacing them would be fantastic I've watched the YouTube clips but no-one talks about how long to set the camber arm to.
    • Heh. I copied the link to the video direct, instead of the thread I mentioned. But the video is the main value content anyway. Otherwise, yes, in Europe, surely you'd be expected to buy local. Being whichever flavour of Michelin, Continental or Pirelli suits your usage model.
    • Continental have consistently beaten the absolute shit out of every other performance tyre in Wet/Damp/Cold conditions and give up a little bit of time (half a second at most) in the dry. Almost like it's engineered for German conditions or something. I'd def give those a try.
