hey all. i need to change the brake pads and rotors on the 260 (s1)... r they the same as the 33 gtr being brembos?

im looking to get slotted... dno y is there any reason to or not to?

and pads... i realllly cbf cleaning my wheels any longer what doesnt give rude amounts of dust!

cheers

adam, your brembos are the same as those on bcnr33 (r33gtr) and bnr34 (r34gtr) only difference is in the caliper mounting bolts

if you want, you can buy my rotors, and i'll pay the extra to get myself some slotted, if you don't want to fork out too much at the moment

I went for the Project Mu b spec pads, awesome bite and work straight away, a little dusty but not as bad as the formula ferodo's ive had before.

I just went some stock R33 GTR rotor's, at the time i wanted slotted but didnt have the kesh.

I run RDA slotted rotors and QFM pads in the skyline. I've used them at the track a few time and both have held up awesome, not much brake dust at all with the QFM pads and they are pretty cheap as well :bunny:

Racebrakes RB74 pads, or Endless SSS if you want to spend more for less feel.

RDA slotted rotors.

hopefully would be 200 per end for rotors and 170 per end for pads!

per end? i think you mean per corner.

just some info i found from a sponsor on ns.com

324mm RDA-7701s Front RDA Slotted Disc pr $Ask+$20-40 postage ask for quote

where should i get them... i got a quote for 33 gtr rotors from ABS today.. like 320 for fronts each, 230 for rears... i think pads were like 180ish? but seriously..... chances of not bending me over:( lol

Adam, GSL Rallysport are selling QFM pads through the Classifieds Business Traders' section here on SAU... They can also hook you up with rotors.

Might be worth looking into, plenty of people report that they perform well and are low in dust.

If you have rotors which are in good cond you can get them slotted. They are usually machined in a straight line but if you think about it for a second or two you can see that they will work as well as the visually more exciting curved slots.

Agreed.

I have the QFM A1RM pads on my car (daily driver). Pulls up much better. No dust (which I needed) and no noise (which I preferred).

Seem to have a pretty good lifespan and are a GREAT price too!

Definitely recommended. :P

go for DBA slotted rotors

and search ebay for good brembo pads

;)

I found a set of Panoz (Wilwood)4-pot billet aluminium calipers for $150del. + Wilwood Superlite pads for $100

cant wait to modify and install !

ebay: some cheapy pads http://cgi.ebay.com.au/GTR-200SX-300ZX-IMP...p3286.m20.l1116

and http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Nissan-Skyline-Fron...p3286.m20.l1116

FYI EBC Redstuff pads squeak like buggery, I have these with slotted rotors and my car squeaks everywhere. They are great once they are hot and they stop you bloody quick when you mash the pedal to the floor but I don't reckon they are that good for street driving. I would go for a less aggressive compund of you are looking at ebc pads either go green stuff or maybe some project mu pads they are pretty good, racebrakes stock them.

i got a set of rda? slotted rotors for $310

and red stuff ebc for $250

i took in the group buy page n was like what ya gna do bout ur $200 over prices situation n she matched it instantly

    • Hey all  im wondering if you can help me please I have put a rb20 box in my r34 gtt as my auto packed up and a friend had a spare box I know it’s not ideal but it will get me up and running for now. we have done the conversation and everything is working great but my Speedo we got a s13 speed sensor but my Speedo reads double now and I bought a speed converter but still not having any luck.  so I thought I’ll reach out and pick your brains  any help would be appreciated please as I wanna drive my car again
    • Drain it. I got official Matic D but you can get whatever is listed as Matic D compatible.
    • Thanks guys,  Yeah I should at least have them dynoed, at least then I know what I've got as a starting point.  The springs on these are hard as rocks. I vaguely remember Russman saying he was going to sell the shocks to me with the rocks fitted, as he was keeping the softer springs for his new setup.  I didn't click at the time but of course that was to let me know the shock/spring wouldn't be matched.  I also remember pricing up new springs around 2014-15, but, house, money etc. it never happened. So that was another reason to have them rebuilt. I have rebuilt the forks on many motorcycles so I think I could handle the seals on these easily enough, but getting the valving right would be a rabbit hole I cbf exploring.  Duncan, interesting to hear RP was tuning these back then. I might give them a call.  In the mean time I have been busy fitting sway bars. The Whiteline rear sway bar I purchased 15 years ago finally got fitted, along with the Whiteline front bar that showed up last week. Just waiting on new links for the front sway bar to finish that off.  And my spare set of advan AVS VS5's should be back from the powder coaters in a Pearl White finish sometime this week, with a set of Hankook RS4's lined up for fitting.  And then I just have all the suspension bushes to do. A comprehensive kit is on the way... Lots to do before the Ararat hill climb. Cheers guys 🍻
    • Nice car! I’m glad folks in the US have gotten past the FnF and are buying real cool cars like the 260RS I was with a bunch of mates in Portland about a year ago and spotted a green Stagea (just a regular 2.5T AWD) parked about 2 blocks away and they were like “a what?” So I made a bet with them for a round of beers and said “ok one of you run down there and tell me if the steering wheel is on the correct side” 5 mins later the American comes trudging back up the hill and goes “he’s right guys. Ok what beer do you want?”
    • Should replace OR drop the tank, give it's good clean. Might be worth replacing that entire fuel level/pump/cradle thing with this: https://frenchysperformancegarage.com/products/fpg-s13-180sx-r32gtst-single-pump-hanger-kit-billet-hat-6-v3-fpg-089?gQT=2
