I dont think I can get more than 400km on a full tank in my M35 - I have only filled it twice since I got it, but it is chewing a hell of a lot more than my C34 stagea which was modified - My M35 is 100% stock!

Maybe I need a tune...

Just filled my tank for the first time, I never fill it but now I'm commuting :(

67.22L of 98 Vortex and the screen is telling me 545km @ 8.1KM/L.

Now I just have to control my right foot :D

The M35 should only use about 9.5-10L/100 on the highway. Anything over 10L/100km (or under 10km/L) on the highway means either something is not right or your right foot is heavy/shaky. Make sure to put the tiptronic into 5th when sitting on constant speed because otherwise the throttle is too sensitive and the torque converter will keep locking / unlocking, which will end up using more fuel. For some reason using the tiptronic makes it less sensitive and will keep the revs low and constant.

The above is for a completely stock stagea. Depending on which performance mods you have it may do better / worse...

In my own experience, mine averaged 10.5-11L/100km on the highway when in D. Putting it in 5th using the gear lever gave me 9.8L/100km but I've seen lower than that since. I'll be doing another long interstate trip in about 5 weeks and reckon I should be able to beat 9.5L/100km this time.

WWATTTT ? 8.1 damn thats pretty high

did u just reset?

I reset a couple of days ago as I've been doing a lot of f3 driving and wanted to see how driving on the f3 was using mostly automatic mode, just slipping into manual shift for overtaking etc.

I'm hoping to be more like 10+km/L once the ECU is remapped.

Note that the M35 holds 10 more litres of fuel compared to older stageas, so 400km on a tank in a M35 is worse than 400km on a tank in a s1 or s2.

I'd say 430-500km would be a more accurate average for the M35, although it does vary quite a lot depending on where you live/drive etc.

I thought I would revive an old thread

I done my regular commute from Blacktown to Tuggerah today and reset all the major efficiency and timing devices on the screen.

Here are the stats for my trip:

GAS ETA, i like it! :P

But atleast I've posted up some stats, will be interesting to see my stats after the remap in it's current configuration.

It should be putting out more power and using less fuel, can't go wrong!! :P

Once we know the remapping works and is beneficial it will be time to get a turbo to GCG for a high-flow rebuild and supply the new turbo with the dump pipe to Envy Imports for change over.

I'm excited, I've also asked Envy Imports for a quotation to supply and fit a FMIC with 3" plumbing.

The ECU should arrive from Brisbane about Tuesday, I should have paid the extra and had it sent from Japan early last week lol

    • Cats are called Bella, and Donna...  Like that poisonous plant And I remember your 2 monsters, I remember making a little bit of wee when you let them out... LOL I have already installed cat doors into the laundry where their kitty litter is, and the sun room, apart from the cat doors there's not going to be any permanent mounted stuff on the interior walls (interior doors are cheap and easy to replace) I will get a outdoor cat cage thingie once I finish the landscaping out back... https://catnip.com.au/ The only off limit areas are the main bedroom and the gym room....but, currently the cats are curled up in bed, in the main bedroom with the Mrs.....LOL, the off limits for the kittens to the main bedroom lasted about 5 minutes with Jackie I currently only have 1 free standing huge cat tree multiple level scratching post thingie in the lounge room, but, I will be getting another one soon now that I'm happy with the furniture layout in the back room and have a perfect spot for it
    • All of this is making it seem clear that running the Coppermix twin was definitely the way to go, especially in hindsight with how insane tariffs have gotten and the strength of the USD vs yen at the time.
    • That sounds like no chance of even importing one for road registering then Now I see why Duncan wants to check LHD rules for Targa...   I wonder how "bolt in" the AWD would be if you got one imported from the US and swapped it to an AUD one
    • Not to mention they drive like a bucket of bolts! yuck!
