Those graphics/gameplay whingers.

USE THE INCAR VIEW on the premium 33GTR around Nurburgring, day/night combo.

Graphics are farking awesome, as is the physics. It handles EXACTLY like it would in real life. (Sport, Hard)

I had a race online in my 32 GTR at the Nurburgring when it was at night....amazing!! Was so hard to see but fun at the same time

lol more whingers. and no G25/g27 doesnt work on the xpox....awww. pretty lame for a console made by microsoft...and yet microsft based PC's can use them...lol. the fanatec is nice, but its no G27. a bit cheaper too from what i recall.

the Polo around the ring isnt really a good indication of its bumpyness...those things go round there flat and max out at 160 :) try a faster car

one thing i was just thinking.

i played at a friends place today on a controller and it seemed to drive completely differently ( yeah i know, of coarse it feels differnet to a wheel).....but it was very different, then i realised the driving physics were on Novice not Pro, or simulation.

i would be willing to bet a few bucks that the peeps complaining about the feel of the cars not being right is due to this.

turn it up...loose the traction control. tuned my Mach 1 stang up to 595hp today and threw it around laguna. sounds angry, does mad skids aye!!

I've got the wheel set to simulation with max feedback strength (D force GT), and it's a decent likeness of reality. Controller peeps would find it nigh on unplayable in simulation mode.

My Mac F1 has 883hp and weighs 970kg- Even with all the aero mods and slicks it can't be driven with TC off (not anywhere quickly at any rate). TC set to 8 gives the best compromise between allowing a little slip you can avoid with proper throttle use but without the bogging down you get when it's set higher

As expected, Forza 3 EATS this game alive. Cannot believe how pathetic these developers are. I find it sickening that after sooooooo long, the cars STILL sound like absolute SH*T!!

I drove 600HP R34 GTR which sounded like... F**T if i know!!??? A corolla with an exhaust and punched out cat??

Drove an M3... which sounded like what it would've if it was in Gran Turismo 2.

Anyhow tried a few other cars and was SO bloody dissapointed. In general the game still sucks and is still SO FAR behind Forza 3. In forza, if you drive a 600hp car, it FEELS and goes like a 600HP car. You 'feel' the car break traction, the engine climbs through the rev range in a way that is just so much more exciting and realistic.

Also, while they have actually improved the handling physics in GT5, the whip lash effect is still over exagerated & the LSD effect is still not lively enough on low speed stuff.

Anyway im buying an Xbox.

sounds very much like someone who went into this game with having decided his opinion before even playing it.

it sounds like the only way to impress you would be if the game was exactly like forza. you have grown accustomed to the way forza plays and now any racing game that does things any differently, you instantly dismiss as rubbish. try having an open mind next time

every car i've driven so far sounds incredibly accurate. maybe get a decent audio setup? thats probably half your problem right there.

and as for the physics, there are a number of people in this very thread who have verified the cars in-game handle and perform exactly like their own cars in real life.

LSD not lively enough? are you sure forza wasnt set too lively?

whip lash effect too strong? are you sure forza's physics aren't a little too forgiving?

you cant judge the physics as crap if all your comparing it to is forza. try comparing it all to the real thing, then you may criticize.

lol my 700hp R35 GTR just loses traction on anything

this.

forza is waaaaay to forgiving.

oh and whats this about driving physics, is that all the TCS and ABS options?

Every car you've driven sounds incredibly accurate? LMAO. Thats all I had to read to disregard the rest of what you wrote.

OK, I'm very impressed with the physics of the game. The in-car view on the S15 is awesome and it feels like the real thing. I can't wait to get a R33/34 GTR and a Legnum VR-4 to compare them to the real thing.

One thing I've found though is that I've forgotten the layout of most of the tracks because I haven't played a GT game in a few years! So I have to relearn everything now like a noob, lol.

The car sounds are a bit hit and miss, my first car was an s13 which sounded pretty realistic but my fully tuned gtr sounds a bit like a tractor, and my two ferraris sound nothing like any ferraris I have ever heard, and the mercialgo just sounds rediculous.

    • I mean it's a bit late to say "This won't have any tangible effect and it is not worth spending more than about three seconds on it, please just enjoy the car" But I said it anyway. Does the pod actually get any airflow in that position behind a bumper like that?
    • Hey guys - apologies for digging this up. Has this website been shutdown or is the outage temporary?
    • So, went shopping at Just Jap for things that might work for the intake  After some trial fitting there I ended up with a 3" x 45° silicone bend, a 3" x 300mm alloy straight, and a humped joiner, some minor trimming will be required to shorten some of the stuff, but nothing that is beyond my "ham fisted" skills The guy at Just Jap was most helpful as we had all sorts of joiners,  bends and stuff out trial fitting  Laying it out above the stuff in there it seems everything will fit nicely, and looking at it, it is probably the way I should have been looking at doing it from the beginning, probably..... In the end it is a front bar off job anyway to remove the original stuff behind the front bar that is taking up the required realestate needed, so maybe a Thursday or Friday job And because I'm a hopeless consumer, I grabbed some new steel wheel nuts, the current ones are a spline drive type with a "security" socket, that somehow someone keeps misplacing, the new ones are a basic black steel 17mm hex socket In other news: I just did my "final" tax return, I am now officially a old retired veteran pensioner, and I'm milking the system for all it's worth,  life is good
    • I hadn't thought about the variable power steering assist. Presumably, it will always be the same level of assist as you get in an S14. The R32/3/4 are either helliishly heavy (at low speeds) if the solenoid is not powered at all, or hellishly too light (at high speed) if it is powered all the time. I presume that it is PWM controlled on those cars. I hadn't thought about the S cars not having variable assist. ugh. What crappy plebby cars they must be!
    • Hmm yeah that is a good point. It looks like it'll just bolt in with no real issue besides maybe the bushings being different. My other concern was that 2 pin plug that I assume is used in some way to control the rack solenoid depending on the speed signal from the ecu. The DMAX rack doesn't even have that plug though so, don't think it'll matter. Might just order the rack and see how it goes. Will update this when I figure something out
