Not so on the Rennteam Forum......Guys there form Germany quoted to me different figures and their was not as much difference

as your quote......I suppose it would lie in what was on the floor and they where trying to get rid off versus ordering and Porsche

options are very pricey......as suggested above the ZR1 can see a 20% discount of it's Sticker in the US.....

But hey this is their argument over in Germany......."not much more then the R35".....

Godcla, the 911 Turbo has a rrp in Germany of Euro $143,008 exactly. What the 'buy' price is , I can't say, but I assure 110% THAT is the rrp for a 911 Turbo in Germany. If anyone says otherwise they don't know what they are on about and are full of shit.

In Germany a GT-R costs EURO $81,800 for the base model, EURO $83,500 for the Premium Edition and EURO $85,200 for the Black Edition. Which ever way you slice it there is a HUGE premium for the 911 Turbo (a car I dearly love) ..and in Germany Ze Krazy Option prices apply too!!!!

Yea....I believe you....but the Germans on Rennteam Forum will not ..........I don't care as I don't plan to move over there.

PS: More then likely the figure is somewhere between the RRP and what they are saying the difference is between GTR und der wunderbar Porsche......

..If that's the case then I find that absolutely gobsmacking! These prices are obtained directly from BOTH manufacturers (and I mean directly not from a website :D )

As a Porsche afficianado, these guys sound like an embarassment to me (same as the one eyed falcadore yobs) if they don't know the list price of a 911 Turbo in it's home country, it makes me wonder if they really know their shit at all!

Birds, hate to break it to you but that Commodore coupe is only a concept car. The chances of it making production are fairly slim AND if it ever did I can guarantee you it would look alot more tame by the time it was production ready for the road...then after all that, it would still be a VE Commodore..which means it won't be built or engineered to anything like the standard of a GT-R or ZR-1 for that matter.

Out of curiosity what attracted you to a Nissan Skyline? or a Nissan fullstop? I get the feeling you are a Chev/Holden man at heart! I'm actually suprised you don't drive a 5.7l V8 Commodore SS or VT Monaro, there are plenty out there at low prices....

I am ashamed to own one after visiting their site......their latest ..."we all know that the GTR is not very fast in a straight line...."

Abusive one eyed Porsche Nazis that have never driven an R35 and have more to say about the Car then R35 Owners.....

PS: Now selling my CS ......Now understand why I mainly get dirty looks when driving it.

Well aware son, I did enlist the promo girls presenting the thing :P

Doesn't detract from my feelings of wanting one, which is all I said. Afterall, we are allowed to want things we can't or will never have.

It might come as a surprise to you but I'm not as biased as you might think. I am indeed a Holden/Chev man at heart, but I try my best not to involve emotion in an argument/discussion and I don't think that is the reason for my ranting about the ZR1 (though love for a particular brand will expose you to alot of information about their cars). It's a hobby of mine to play devil's advocate when the other side of a story hasn't had it's dues presented...not for trolling purposes, but to keep the truth out there and ignorance levels down. And hey, didn't we all learn a thing or two about both these cars from this thread? I'd have done the same for the R35 in a ZR1 forum (even though I do prefer the ZR1 to the R35). Fate would have it that I ended up here though. I'll stand up for a Hyundai if the argument and my logic warrants it. As for my Skyline, I wanted a reasonably quick daily driver to scoot about in until I finish my Calibra project. Always had a soft spot for the R33 when I was younger so I impulse bought it and I love it. May well own a Holden V8 one day but I've grown up with them and too much of anything gets boring.

RedEmblem...not everything is about performance...not for me anyway. Where the Coupe 60 might have lacked in performance I think its aesthetics crap all over that of the GTR/M3/C63 etc. The car is just plain sexy (my opinion) and were it an actual production car I don't think you'd find it much more premium priced than the VZ CV-8 Monaros (bar the luxury car tax). And a VE Monaro is my take on what the car is supposed to represent (amongst other things), without actually producing it...as per Holden's promise not to continue the namesake.

Nothing wrong with the old LS1.

I believe I have the best of both worlds. Mildly tweaked LS1 Wagon for a daily/family/tow car that goes pretty damn well and will win 9/10 traffic light gran prixers to 100km/h but also have the nice little raw R32 RB30DET.

They are two completely different cars. I personally much prefer driving the tweaked LS1 auto on the street. Returns an average of 13L/100 and I don't baby it. Its an easier smoother and it does launch out of the hole damn hard.

When I want the hairs on my neck to stand on end with the rear swaying slightly from side to side at 150km/h in to fourth I jump in the R32.

I am a V8 man at heart. When the RB30DET pops I'm seriously considering an VH41/45 DE T or TT.

Never said there was anything wrong with an LS1 (although those with Piston slap problems that required a rebuild may disagree) or VE, just commenting that they are not in the same footing as a bespoke Nissan R35 GT-R/Zr-1 in terms of performance or engineering. You can recall the test in 2002 Motor Magazine when a 300kW GTS HSV Coupe was put up against a new Nissan Skyline GT-R R34 N1, it got creamed, and it was a 40 degree day that disadvantaged the twin turbo Nissan.

    • Lets say I wanted to buy this, specifically for this purpose. How do I actually perform the function. Can I still buy a Consult-1? Am I about to be burned by the fact my car is a 2000 model Series 2 R34 and thus will be some stupid other system? Do I just need this -> https://obd2australia.com.au/product/nissan-consult-14-pin-to-usb-ddl-diagnostic-interface-with-ftdi-ft232r-chip/ And with what software?
    • That's probably OK. That's a face to face compression joint between two surfaces with the clamping load provided by those bolts. So.... it's unlikely that the bolts will end up feeling that load in shear, unless the clamping surfaces are not large enough, bolts not got enough tension on them, etc etc to prevent the two faces from moving wrt each other. Which... I would hope the designers have considered, seeing as it's probably one of the most important things the upright has to do apart from resist collapsing in its own right. But yes, it would definitely be worth asking them what their safety factor on that part of the design was. I tend to think that the casting, being a casting, is not necessarily the strongest bit of material in the world. It's about an inch square, and when you think about the loads that are being put into it, you have to wonder what safety factor the Nissan boys (and every other OEM engineer who has designed all the millions of other uprights that look essentially the same) used to account for defective casting, aging, severe impacts on the wheel, etc etc.
    • Those bolts would be orders of magnitude stronger that cast aluminium though.  And its mainly clamping force, not shear they are dealing with?
    • Except all that twisting force that is breaking a cast piece, appears to be going through 4 bolts in the picture Johnny posted of the BryPar one...
    • The smart approach is to use the gearbox loom from the manual car. Makes it a lot easier - just plugs into the switches on the box and plugs into the main loom up near the fusebox. Then you only need to deal with bypassing the inhibit switch. The other approach requires you to use the wiring diagram to identify those wires by colour and location, perhaps even indulging in a little multimeter action to trace them end to end to make sure, and then.... you will have the answers you need. The R34 wiring diagram is available on-line (no, I do not have a link to it myself - I would have to do a search if I wasn't able to go to the copy I have at home).
