....... 'waits for MIKE to chime in' .......lol

lol

this is my current height with tein coilovers which i think is perfect. i still have some adjustment left in the them, could probably go another 20mm lower all round if i wanted to. my current eyebrow heights are ~320mm

that being said my new coilovers just arrived waiting to be fitted.. 2 way height adjustable racing gear jobbies :D - decided base height adjustable was deff a better option to keep spring rates decent.. if you really want when i fit them next week i can take some photos of just how low they can go?

That is the answer I wanted and the look. Thanks

Correct me if I am wrong, I believe you have Tein HA's in your car?

How much clearance between the lower platform and the wheel? I do not think I will have clearance issue's as I need to fit 25mm spacers to the r34 GTR wheels (to make them 18x9 +5) to fill out the GTR front end. It will also make the front end track the same as the rear.

What are the new shocks? Price? Pm me if you want.

I have a call into Bilstein for availaiblty and details.

So you are on the lowest setting on the bilsteins? But what height/length are the teins. Are they lowered or standard height?

Bit hard to compare. The lowest setting on the bilsteins might be low enough for me, but until you quote the ride height measurement, it is a bit hard to compare.

Not really tring to make the car useless, just trying to fill out the guards.

In sydneykid's group buy, he was setting the car the at 350mm. I believe mine sits higher than that, but I have ran out of adjustment to lower it further, hence the need for asked info. What shocks and what measurement are people using?

My heights are 350mm front and 360mm rear. I don't think the shocks are on the lowest setting but you can machine more grooves if necesary. The shocks are WGNC34 specific Bilsteins but relabelled as Nismo:

front: Nismo 56110-RSC45 ENP

rear: Nismo 53210- RSC45 ENP

Springs are Tein lowering springs:

front: Tein F-SIN78-010311-HCC

rear: Tein R-SIN79-010382-HCC

As far as appearances go some cars seem lower to the ground because of the body kits. I have 17x8in wheels and the extra width looks better. If you are getting more power you could probably run bigger wheels (as in bigger rolling circumference) which would raise your gearing (no good for drags but probably good for everything else).

these are the new ones http://www.c-red.com.au/index.php/newparts...nd/category/rg/

you'll have oodles of inner clearance with a 9+5. it'll sit almost identicle to the outside of my wheels and you'll have an extra 15mm of room on the inside

sounds like your boat is going to look mighty nice when you're finished.. low offset, ride height.. win in my books

Only the fronts wheels will be +5, the rears will stay at +30.

Have been looking at new volk GTC's in 18 or 19's. Would be able to order different offsets and get max front dish/rim because should not have too much caliper clearance issues.

Mike, do you the difference between face 1 and 2. one is for high caliper clearance

Price back for bilsteins. Shocks only with extra groves $1265 set. Still would need springs to suit.

Mine is Running Abflug coilovers, and the wheels are 19's. I've since raised the front about an inch as i was sick up it bottoming out on little bumps as its my daily.

I have 34 gtr vspec lower diffuser, fibreglass copy. Not sure how long it will last thuo.

Needs to be lower than that one

I need measurements to back how low your car is guy's. If it sometimes scraps or hits something, that's all good and well.

I want it be lower, so need to make sure I buy the right coilovers that fit the job!

Only C34's need apply.

:D

i no its too low but feck it looks good :P... thats teins 1/4 wound up with helper springs :S... had to lower it onto the old rotors to get the jack out :) my nokia n95 just fits under the front bar lol

Just need to fit some spacers to fill the guards out and it would be perfect :D

What model Teins? HA's??

Yeah it needs spacers to fill the guards so its not falcondore spec .... Sure as hell the rear coils I adjusted didnt get wound up a 1/4 of the way! more like 1.5cm of thread!

Darrin I think heir HR's?

To bloody low,

I want some adjustable gear, i dont have any new photos but this gives an idea. It doesnt look that low when you compare it to the others. Still sh*ts me tho. Especially on sharp hills.

I used to have a company car that was an 07 commodore. Surprisingly it was never phased by any speed bumps, kerbs or road islands. That bad boy just went up and over with no problem at all. Company cars can do anything.

Company cars can do anything.

Cop cars can do more. My 2 best mates are cops. Some of the stories

One mate, 3 weeks into the job put a 1 week old commadore into a creek chasing someone on a dirt road. They opened the doors, drained it and drove it for a few months then it got sold at auction to some poor mum and dad.

Looks pretty standard height wise.

How high do you want it?

If you are having an issue with that ride height, I would suggest that you forget all about a 3" turbo back exhaust!

    • My dream is also to have a proper hoist, but I don't think it will ever happen. My quickjack is probably as close as I'll ever get, it really is very good though.
    • Yeah we keep on in the dailies, it is pretty poor how many animals get hit and the driver leaves without checking....have saved a couple of little ones over the years. Bit of a gruesome job though, pouches generally need to be cut open because they are so tight and often the joey doesn't realise mum is gone so they are still locked onto the teat. I checked the modules in front of the DS wheel where an oil cooler should go.... There is the radar unit - that can go for race use) One of the 2 HX water pumps, the silver cylinder. That needs to be kept but might be able to be relocated But the bad news, the big computer mounted vertically in front of the wheel (blocking any potential air exit) is the electric steering computer. That is required until/unless i do a hydraulic steering conversion, and in CAD based modern car design it is not like I can just pop a big unit like that somewhere else (plus the loom would be too short anywhere else too). So, the passenger side is OK to clear out (just use a smaller washer reservoir, potentially elsewhere), but the DS no beuno
    • Well, all the best with the new camry It was interesting to hear about the UK process, it is generally a lot more streamlined here with a shipping agent looking after all the import side (noting the exact final price can still be a surprise.....) and I've used a few different brokers on the japan (or US) side, and never had any trouble with any of them....luck of the draw I guess. You mentioned you didn't get the auction sheet (understandable since you bought it from a dealer, not auction), but I always try and get hold of that because they are pretty thorough. I've imported 2x R grade vehicles over the years and both were fine, repairs in Japan are pretty thorough compared to here in Oz.
    • BTW I measured the jack I have, it is 70mm at the saddle but you only have about 700 until it returns to 150mm high at the cylinder so it is good but no magic bullet.
    • My experience with Rising Sun Exports Before agreeing to the sale I tried to do as much research as I could (obviously), his Facebook reviews are 98% and he goes Live at least once or twice a week. I contacted 2 people in the UK who had used him for their imports, both had positive feedback. His explanation and talk through of the import process was thorough, answering any query no matter how stupid it was. It felt as soon as the money was sent, communication dropped off. I asked for shipping updates every 2 weeks or so, not wanting to pester him, he never had any updates. I wasn't informed the car had been dropped off at the port, I only found out by his Facebook story. I asked for the photos taken at the port, knowing he would need some for insurance purposes. I received a few 5 second clips and that's it. When asked again, he said his staff had them. Weeks later I asked again, he tells me he doesn't have any, but does have 50 photos from the original advert. I never received them. I eventually got the documents sent via WhatsApp after I mentioned the port was requesting them. I purchased a CarVX report, to find out the vehicle is a Grade R with recorded accident damage, first recorded in 2017 when it was first auctioned. He never told me the grade, then again I didn't ask. His response was "Grade R means nothing, it wasn't chassis damage". Still, I would have liked to have been informed about it. Jon prides himself on being open and honest when it comes to inspecting cars, it's his main job doing so at the auctions for customers. When the vehicle arrived in the UK I noticed a few little cosmetic issues. It's a 21 year old car so it wasn't going to be mint condition. The side skirts are cracked on each corner and the sealant is failing. The front grill on the bonnet/hood isn't secured very well, mounting studs are missing. Both minor things, but again, it would have been nice to be told. During a Facebook Live walk around video of the vehicle, he mentioned it has a front Whiteline anti roll bar/sway bar. While on the inspection ramp, I noticed the stock item has been installed. When first questioned, his response was "the ARB? Switched? Since when, it never had them". Since sending video and photo evidence I've not received a response. I'm probably being over critical of the overall condition of an old car, but all I wanted was honesty (which he claims to have). I'm aware I wasn't his only customer, he's busy doing XYZ but other reviews praise him for great communication with regular updates and photos, I felt I didn't receive the same treatment.
