i missed out 'fit' now ive re-read it.

RB20 ones go on, so why wouldnt RB25 go on? the top of the cylinder head is the same shape?

so why wouldnt the RB25 fit on a 26, if cams were the issue i wouldnt think the 20 covers would fit.

although, the backing plates and gear covers are different shape

Hi All,

Quick update:

I recently sold my rb2630 engine to a mate of mine who is setting up an R32GTR circuit car (that engine belongs on the track TBH, too angry for the street).

As soon as he sets it up, I’ll report back here with results.

This guy is a demon behind the wheel...used to pull 1:08s around wakefield with a stock gtr running higher boost.

I now have a replacement Bathurst Winner which is piece of history & icon – I bought back my old Australian Delivered R32 GTR :)

yes it is 'uncool' that i sold my engine BUT the timing was well aligned with the purchase of my aust gtr, it was all by coincidence.

it is however 'cool' that i got my old car back though...here are some pics & 1 of an r35gtr on the way back from picking it up on the day:

Nice one Marko!

Hi all,

My rb30dett is now fitted in my mates circuit GTR, this is his 1st outing (reserved driving) & was doing 1:11’s around wakefield. His car still needs sorting around stiff suspension etc. Engine is tuned down to 350awkw on Federal RSR595s on a very cold track. The 280degree cams are too big and power comes in too late for circuit so will swap them out for 264/11mm lift to bring turbos on 1000rpm earlier. With good tyres that will wipe off another 4sec +.

The best time he did with my current gtr was 1:08 on Pirelli full slicks & only 220 awkw! He is a very good driver!

Just incase anyone is interested. This car is now running the same set up with 300awkw and 595rsr. It has done 1:09.8 at Wakefield park. There is may be a second or two left to shave if I get better tires and my brake zone correctly.

But all credit to the engine. The -10's with 260 cams work magic. A little lag under 4000rpm. But she turn into a monster after that.

U have a great engine there Tuan...I spent a lot of time asking many questions to many people which some can attest to here :)

The only mechanical changes to the engine is the smaller cams from 280s to 260s, upgrade ecu from power fc to vipec, lower boost and now tuned by unique autosports.

I know this as I sold that engine to a good friend of mine.

    • Don't even try to run it on the stock ECU if you're going to have the boost controller bring boost above ~10 psi. I've already told you that. If you use the Nistune ECU, you will need to CAREFULLY read the available documentation for Neo tuning, and read some threads on the Nistune forums, to discover the various things you have to do to prevent the ECU from going bananas when the boost is too high. The is a table associated with th boost sensor that must be modified to prevent it from shitting the bed. This is just one of the things that you will need to do to the tune in Nistune, because the Neo turbo ECU will be expecting to see a number of things (such as the TCS) that are not there, and you have to block the DTCs on those. It is totally not surprising to me that you are having the problems that you are, but the solutions to these problems have been known for >15 years. So just get it done.
    • Hi. Sry iam not a mechanic and iam not at the car atm so i dont know 100% but they told they measure those and even try to change those. AFM they have two. Coils are new a they have my old one too. Plugs too. ECU...we have 25 NEO stock and Nistune 25 NEO.   But i dont know if any one those could be the problem and why/if/what can cause this, Only thing they did not check is fuel...but that walbro 255 is new(like 1,5 years)... That fuel pressure gauge idk...but i let them know Any suggestions?   EDIT: how can they know if it is like you say he ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high? Tha car has boost controler
    • Can you clarify what you mean by boost cut, do you mean it misfires both when under load (driving) and when stationary and out of gear? Or does the ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high (boost control issue)? Does it occur at idle with no throttle? When you say "the ECU is OK", what ECU is it and why do you think it is OK? Have you used the NEO ECU, and if so do you have a MAP sensor attached? Same for the AFM, why do you think it is OK? Do you have any way to put a fuel pressure gauge on it (even just a mechanical one between the fuel filter and fuel rail)?
    • Hi.. Just another problem. So maybe you can help. I(my mechanic) done swap from my RB20DE NEO to RB25DET NEO. Everything is OK but we have a boost cut. Coils/Plugs are ok...AFM is ok. ECU is ok. I have Walbro 255 but it "changed" sound few months ago(you can hear it ouside) you did not hear that when it was new(maybe faulty?) Sooo...what now? What can cause this boost cut? It is even when you standing still...
