imprsv
Hey Guys, I'm looking @ getting a car that has just been bought into the country. It's been complied and all just awaiting registration. What im after is what the process from here is? From what i know, it requires a Victorian RWC. Then I'd book an appointment @ vicroads get all the checks done. Supply the compliance papers and then its registered? Just want to know is there anything im missing, anything i should watch out for? Don't really want to get stooged with this. Cheers Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/277825-registering-a-freshly-compianced-car/ Share on other sites
dezz
That's all from memory...Just make sure you have all the papers, and all the dates/engine numbers etc on the RWC are accurate....Nothing worse than waiting 4 months for your car to be imported/complied then to be knocked back at VicRoads because the tool that did your RWC left the 'RB' off the engine number... Shadz
Yeh, you have to make an appointment at vicroads. Make sure you bring in the import papers, RAWS documents, compliance papers, Proof of ownership(receipt to say where or who you got the car from) RWC and also make sure when they did your compliance they stamped the VIN number supplied to you on the car. Generally done on one of the strut towers. imprsv
Cheers for that.. Since the car is in Australia & compliance is already done. There shouldn't be too much for me to worry about. From the list i've just thrown up.. - Victorian RWC - Book appointment @ Vicroads - Make sure compliance plates & vin is stamped on the car. - Bring import papers, raws papers, compliance papers - Proof of ownership so like a reciept or something - Take to vicroads, go through appointment. Pay stupid amounts of money to get it regoed. KamikazeNinja34
sounds about right. bought mine thru an import dealer so they did that all for me. Asked me to sign an authorisation form with my details and a copy of my drivers licence attached.
