A couple of days ago i saw a new white porsche (model escapes my mind atm) with the plates '15'...then a couple of cars along, parked on the side of the road, i saw a Audi R8 with the plates '16'. the plates looked pressed outwards (appeared to be popping out, if that makes more sense).

Anyone know how much they would cost? im quite curious.

> 100X the value of your car!

Sometimes seen as an investment or the ultimate in vanity plates.

Very subjective, but get onto the Pickles Website for values of what they sold for at the most recent Prestige Car Auction.

What exactly does "you wish" mean Turk1?

Can be seen in many different ways lol...I once had some random chick come to my house and take photos of my car, posing with it and all claiming it was her car, changed her bebo name to "UW33SH" aswell hahaha, my mate pointed it out to me becuase he was like wtf isnt that your car :D

As for the plate, its a pretty uhmm... "stuck up" style plate if you get what I mean

my mates brother had 'FARQUE' on his 87 xf falcon about 18-20 years ago. He sold the plates for 15k in about 94'. I did see these at a car show not long after that but cant remember what car they were on. Im sure he wouldnt be allowed to have them now.

About 4 months ago the plates 'IMPORTD' were for sale...for $500 odd

Now, i don't know about you guys but i'd rather pay $10,000 for 'IMPORTD' then $10,000 for 'LEXUAL' (Lexus/Sexual) as seen on ebay and mentioned in above posts.

What i'm really trying to say is that there are some very greedy people out there who would rob you for leave you with a bit of metal and a nice yearly fee to pay to DPI/RTA, don't fall for the trap of "it's unique", because when you think about it...everyone's number plate is unique...durr.

Here is a photo (~2 years ago) of another 'F You' plate, owned by 'The Shark', some of the Gold Coast members might know of him.

Just bought "MY06XT" plates for my 'new' second-hand daily Forester.

Couldn't believe they were still available (as other similar ones were already taken).

Costs $99/year (tax deductible for bus.)

It'll help one day when I sell the XT.

My plates came with the r31 when i bought it.

The front says MYSKY1 but the back is MYSKYI so my old man reckons it stands for My Sky-Line haha

I guess we'll never know!

I got UHU55Y Number plates  haha

not rocket science to know what that says.

+ Side: random chicks drive past saying U HUSSY ! lol

- Side: Girlfriend slaps me across the head every time it happens LOL

number plates are hell expensive, true story,

in japan some dude owns a plate thats just "8"

cost him $7,000,000 AUD to get it (or around that, definately a few mill)

because in japan everyone believes 8 to be the "lucky number"

generally number plates ( with just 1 on it, or 666 or something) go for anywhere between 10-25k

    • Ahhh, I need the whole head unit. I definitely needed to roll back through and review your setup, ha ha! Neat setup they have going on. I just need a full double din head unit. But I want good and responsive. I might have to review what the likes of pioneer have out these days.
    • Ok so after much research and talking with knowledgeable people I've got my turbo conversion done and it's all running great other than 1 small issue.  Car has remained auto with the na auto and tcm, I've used a stagea ecu with. NIstune board and everything is great other than my gear selection on the dash. It illuminates park, reverse, neutral, 3rd and 2nd. But nothing drive or what gear your in when you pop it into tiptronic.  I'm sure there is may e 1 wire in the ecu plug I need to move to rectify this. Dose anyone here have any ideas?   Cheers guys
    • Sorry I haven't been following all the detail, so you may have tried this. Does it idle with the tiniest bit of throttle you can add? You've mentioned the IACV, does it have an AAC valve and have you adjusted it at all (ie, screw the idle adjust screw all the way in, then back it out a couple of turns until idle is stable)?
    • My bad, I unplugged the one underlined in red instead of yellow before. With the car started, after unplugging the IACV (the one underlined in yellow), it idled at around 400/500 for 3 seconds before stalling. Attempting to start the car without the IACV will not start the car.   It does stutter and sputter for around 5 seconds before dying. However, immediately after starting it, you can already hear some slight sputters from the exhaust.   It won't start with the AFM unplugged. If it is when the car has already started, it stalls in a few seconds.   Yesterday, I did take some logs using Nistune of 3 scenarios. Car idling till it stalls Car idling and unplugging the IACV Car idling and removing the AFM I also have some previous logs of when the Car is idling till it stalls and when driving and it cuts. I am not really knowledgeable enough to understand what to look for. After every test, car idles rougher and rougher, until I have to stop. It will be fine the day after.
    • There is no difference between a 17x8 and an 18x8. The total diameter of the tyre needs to remain +/- the same (so you don't mess up the gearing, speedo reading, and clearance when turning front wheels..... so you just need to use a lower profile tyre on th 18 than you do on the 17. /rocket surgery.
