I had one of the old mid 90's corolla hatches with the 100kw engine. That went like buggery, handled surprisingly well and was as reliable as anything.

And not too ugly either. The chicks, they dug it. Had to keep the windows wound up to stop screamingly horny women from throwing themselves into the passenger seat whenever I stopped at the lights.

+1 ...this is my daily machine.Never breaks down and easily spins to 7500 rpm even with 300,000 km on the odo. Damn things really get up and haul ass for an NA 1.6

Gotta ask.... Why a C200 merc?

Well obviously not for performance lol Most of my driving is through traffic, so I went looking for the most comfortable, quiet and smooth car I could afford and the merc smashed so many new cars its kind of sad. I like it better then the new euro, new mazda 6 and the aging subaru liberty. It has more features then those cars like rain sesing wipers, electrics seats and a ton of crap more and plus its a Mercedes so yeah I bought it lol

Sounds fair enough to me Alex :)

I only asked as I used to work for Merc and knowing how slow they are I was just curious to know the reasons behind the R34 > C200 switch. (Especially if the car in your sig is your old 34!)

In saying that, they certainly are comfortable. They stop brilliantly, have a gazillion gadgets, and I must admit I don't mind the looks.

Still if it were me I'd have still probably bought something jap :P

AHahhaha if the car in the SIG was mine I would never sell it lol, I just stole that picture of somewhere ahahhaa. I do love japs cars, but traffic and a heavy clutch and shifting gears and a 4 inch cannon from the turbo back don't mix especially in the mornings when you feel like crap lol And i dont think its that slow its gets up and goes pretty well for what it is, and saying that mercs are slow, i dont know some of those V8's and V12 AMG's are pretty quick hahah

No no i didn't say mercs are all slow. Some of them are brilliant. Just the C180, C200's (including the kompressor's) and a few others are pretty slow.

The SL55, E55, SLK55 etc are great fun! The C32 was actually one of my favourites as well. I loved driving around in a S500 when they first came out with the 7 speed auto. Really went well for what it is.

One of the things that made some of the merc's feel a bit slow was that the other cars I worked on were Porsche's :P (mind you some of them are just plain horrible!)

LOL in general it is pretty slow, but for something thats 1.5 Tones plus with a 1.8 Liter Supercharged engine, I think it does well lol :)

hey dont forget the CLK55 AMG's and 63 AMG's

they will peal the skin off a cold soup...

Wheres the drewl smiley lol Some say that if you drop the clutch on one of the 63 AMGS at 4000 RPM, the world will actually spin the other way ahahaha

its probablly a good thing they only come in automatic then hey...

+1 for Nissan Micra, I have one as my daily, awesome fun to run around in, chuck a CAI and Exhaust/Extractors on and you double the output lol, should see 70-80kw in something that weighs nothing more than a fart!

Picked mine up for just over 3k, fuel efficient, just clicked over 310K's and still going strong!

    • Hello!  i just finished manual swaping my r34 skyline with a r33 rb20de box(RB71C)box  When the car is running it squeaks crazy loud and it was smoking from the gearbox area. The gearbox is fine it was tested. The clutch slave cylinder seems like it doesn't fully releases the clutch. I want to ask if this noise is from the throw out bearing or could it be the clutch assembly or disk att.xFliq87Gzw6kImKBVqDebXkj0fBqymk0JaYeP3_3SlM.mp4
    • A few small updates since the previous post and lessons. I decided to do a little interior light upgrade on the 110. I quite like the iilumo items, even if they're a bit of a premium over other brands. You'll also note the Stedi Fogs, that will go into the S15 fog lights as I needed to match the bulbs since I got the new ones earlier. I hope they fit as the body is quite a bit longer than your normal bulb.  Annoyingly, I managed to trip the fuse, which normally wouldn't be an issue until I located the fuse. I can't say I've ever come across this. I had lucked out that someone nearby had a spare, but oddly enough Toyota dealerships seem to keep this in stock. I ordered some to keep in my stash and as luck would have it, someone else nearby tripped the same fuse so I passed on the favour.  I also did a little service on the 110 ahead of some additional work coming up. It's been annoying that Goleby's stopped carrying this particular HKS filter for the 110, so now I need to keep them on order from Japan. I also took the opportunity to install a bash plate and number plate riser. The plate riser is such a cheap but nice fix to help really tidy up the car. I'm tempted to now also replace my headlights, on this car. Both items were from Project Aero.    I also needed to replace the rear tyres on the 110, and after trying to get it aligned learnt that I need to replace some bushes in the front end, so that's next.  Closing out this update with a nicer picture as always!
