dohmar -as for the repeat of some members cars in the last calendar - that was because there wasnt as much notice and not many people submitted their photos. I DID use at least ONE photo of every car that was submitted - to fill the gaps, I had to re-use some members cars - had to fill the gaps somehow.

As for this time, well theres alot more notice, and alot more planning is gong nto it, so it wont be like that this time!

coolness, hopefully we can find someone with an early model gtr and a 35 *nods* :P

Last calendar was awesome, put me down for two again :P

Be happy to have a calender, hey flick can we maybe vote on the photos used for the 2010 one ? just a suggestion ?

and get a deadline for photo submission ? not to be too picky but some of the photos used were low resolution ones when the hi res were provided for use ?

could have been a designer error or printer error . but hey thanks for putting up your hand to do one

hey I have some nice shots of luke blowing his chunky dinner on the sidewalk in kadina for the back cover ...lol

kidding!!!! Luke

Hey troy. Cheers for the suggestion, but as for the voting, well im going to avoid that - or it will just turn messy and turn into arguments and dissagreements. I will just do it how i did last time. What looks best on the printers screen, is what will be used..

As for a deadline, well as yet there is none, it wont go to print for AT LEAST 6 weeks, so I guess thats the deadline, gives people pllllenty of time to organize photosl. Take time people - go out on a sunny day, experiment with angles, backgrounds etc. That said i DONT want photoshopped photos, pure natural photos are best, thus why some submitted last time werent used, they were too edited and well.. tacky looking, not what SAU is about. Show us YOUR car, not what u can do to it with a bit of editing..

The photos i used last time troy, were the best i had to work with out of what was submitted. Yes, some high res ones were left out, they just didnt look right when blown up on the printers screen.. 80% of the planning and design is left upto my printer/designer, she says which photos are best for use and we go from there.. I had to usesome low res ones, as its the best i had of that particular persons car.. and i wanted at least one of every car submitted.

So.. forget this years calendar, lets move on from that one.

That said, any ideas are welcome, but in the ends, its upto my printer and she she can do.

so keep submitting people! Make them stand out - make them different from the usual boring photos taken from your backyard. experiment, get together with some other members and do some group shots. Keep them coming!

:)

Guys, would everyone like to organise a 'photoshoot day' for these photos. Get them all done at one time and that way if you dont rockup then you dont get the privlage of being in the calander and then if there is over whelming demand we can have 2 or 3 cars in the one photo and then noone misses out :)?

I would LOVE a photo of all the GT-R's in a line, if someone has a first Gen GT-R in Adelaide that would be fantastic too but I don't like the odds of that lol

I'm dragging out the photo gear for Dyno day and will be there for photos all day. plus maybe some after depending on weather, location surroundings etc

otherwise Im game for a photoshoot day in the near future if the weather holds off a bit ???? I have some new interesting spots for photos

thats the plan damo.. I want to include EVERY model of skyline, thus why im giving alot more notice this time, more time to organize and plan it. I may make it a little different this time, to include more photos - see what I can come up with, with the designer. Yes i want to include different cars/members this time, but i will probably also put in small photos of regular, full time members who may have entered last time also - probably not as main photos tho, to make it fair.

I want to keep the front cover similar to last year, with a group shot, so a cruise/photoshoot will be in order.

Good job on the calander for 2009 Flick, it looks nice on my wall. Im sure the 2010 calander will look good in my new home :P .

I will email some pics for this in the next few days. but if there is another photoshoot cruise for the front cover is in order send me a PM whenever it goes ahead I havnt been on a cruise in a long long time.

as i mentioned in an email to flick, SAU dyno day comming up is a great place to get everyone together for some photos,

by the looks of it we will have at least one of each model... hopefully an r35 too lol.

^^ Ill see how I go with that, when is it again? Im probly working. If i cant make it, would be good if someone could take some decent shots to forward on to me.

Iron Chef, I LOVE ur car, always have, if you could forward me some shots would be good. Got some shots from all jap day wth Heslos car? I think it was u two that were parked together, that would make a great pic.

And nisskid - action shots more than welcome! I want to show skylines in all sorts of ways.. from show quality to track.

I encourage u to be creative people! Some of the best shots last year came from Vu who went to different locations, different lighting and the shots were awsome. His were taken in a quiet city street with some amazing lighting effects. So make ur photo stand out!

My car has the fresh dent on the drivers side front 1/4 panel frpm when that lady reversed into it in traffic 2 weeks ago, unless you get a shot from the oppisite side Troy aha?

    • For once a good news  It needed to be adjusted by that one nut and it is ok  At least something was easy But thank you very much for help. But a small issue is now(gearbox) that when the car is stationary you can hear "clinking" from gearbox so some of the bearing is 100% not that happy... It goes away once you push clutch so it is 100% gearbox. Just if you know...what that bearing could be? It sounding like "spun bearing" but it is louder.
    • Yeah, that's fine**. But the numbers you came up with are just wrong. Try it for yourself. Put in any voltage from the possible range and see what result you get. You get nonsense. ** When I say "fine", I mean, it's still shit. The very simple linear formula (slope & intercept) is shit for a sensor with a non-linear response. This is the curve, from your data above. Look at the CURVE! It's only really linear between about 30 and 90 °C. And if you used only that range to define a curve, it would be great. But you would go more and more wrong as you went to higher temps. And that is why the slope & intercept found when you use 50 and 150 as the end points is so bad halfway between those points. The real curve is a long way below the linear curve which just zips straight between the end points, like this one. You could probably use the same slope and a lower intercept, to move that straight line down, and spread the error out. But you would 5-10°C off in a lot of places. You'd need to say what temperature range you really wanted to be most right - say, 100 to 130, and plop the line closest to teh real curve in that region, which would make it quite wrong down at the lower temperatures. Let me just say that HPTuners are not being realistic in only allowing for a simple linear curve.
    • I feel I should re-iterate. The above picture is the only option available in the software and the blurb from HP Tuners I quoted earlier is the only way to add data to it and that's the description they offer as to how to figure it out. The only fields available is the blank box after (Input/ ) and the box right before = Output. Those are the only numbers that can be entered.
    • No, your formula is arse backwards. Mine is totally different to yours, and is the one I said was bang on at 50 and 150. I'll put your data into Excel (actually it already is, chart it and fit a linear fit to it, aiming to make it evenly wrong across the whole span. But not now. Other things to do first.
    • God damnit. The only option I actually have in the software is the one that is screenshotted. I am glad that I at least got it right... for those two points. Would it actually change anything if I chose/used 80C and 120C as the two points instead? My brain wants to imagine the formula put into HPtuners would be the same equation, otherwise none of this makes sense to me, unless: 1) The formula you put into VCM Scanner/HPTuners is always linear 2) The two points/input pairs are only arbitrary to choose (as the documentation implies) IF the actual scaling of the sensor is linear. then 3) If the scaling is not linear, the two points you choose matter a great deal, because the formula will draw a line between those two points only.
