Hi everybody,

A while ago I took out one of my mirrors on a pole I didn't see, and I am chasing the left hand wing mirror cover to replace my damaged one. I don't need the motors, glass or light, just the outer cover. Nissan will not sell me just the outer cover and they want $560 + GST for the entire mirror. Can anyone help?

Thanks very much,

Brendan Diss

yup, i can.

ill have a pair of silver mirrors complete and working in about 2 weeks if you can wait that long? id probably sell you a whole one for $100 + shipping. id love to part it up, but ive done that before and still have bits of an S13 mirror at home from 10 years ago :(

OR, get a pair of mirror covers with indicators from IM. set you back a bit more, but they look really good!

also, i V35 mirrors are the same and will fit!

feel free to PM me if you like.

+1 on finding a wreck.

I may need a passenger side rear lower suspension arm (what the bottom of the damper is bolted to)

I was actually just after the bush, but it comes as an "all-in-one" unit.

*sigh* As you can see from Parts Master at the bottom of the image, it is just another part that is specific to the M35

Any wrecks around?

I have not yet contact Nissan requesting a price (my wallet shudders each and every time!).

they cant push the bush out?? aftermarket??

i rekon there will be a generic sized one that will fit, or something from a V35/Z33. nissan wouldnt change all that much, it would cost too much to manufacture a small volume for M35s (then again there are a shit load of them around in japan im told)

is this dew to that creaking sound you hear with the m35 while going up driveways etc?

i've also got a bad vibration occasionally on breaking. it doesnt happen all the time so i can cancel out brake rotors

Nah, it is because the bolt is seized in the lower shock mount bush (the nut can be taken off, but the bolt will not come out).

I don't think it has anything to do with the creaking, I would put that down to the front shocks.

I had my Nismo suspension (with the exception of LHR damper) installed and the creaks have completely disappeared.

yeah the tein's sometimes creak apparently? i'm not entirely sure. i thought maybe it was a sway bar still waiting on the Gb to happen for them tho..

must try find this shudder, scary when driving on the snowy roads and it does this.

Is it when you are at less than ~15kph? In snow mode??

Mine sometimes did this when reversing, but I have replicated it in the above conditions.

Get a transmission service... with either Nissan's Matic J AND their transmission additive satchel, or another fully synthetic, high quality fluid (such as Redline, Motul etc).

Should clear it up.

nar its defiantly got something to do with the steering/suspension arms/bushes etc..

in normal driving conditions. but only happens every now and then. can be cold, can be hot can be as soon as i get in the car, can be after a while.

on the topic now on tranny.. transmax z good to put in? and what was in this satchel?

The V35 & 350Z manuals (same auto trans as M35 stagea) say over and over to only use Nissan Matic J fluid. It says other fluids may deteriorate components over time...

I realise nissan aren't going to recommend other brands though...

I recently had my gearbox serviced, and the workshop used the Nissan Matic J because its all they had (not that there's anything wrong with it - I'd say its up there with anything else), but apparently Castrol do a Transmax E which would've been the one to use (according to the workshop). Dont quote me though.

well i think nissan say use matic j in the getrag for 34 also.. which i have in my 32..

but i was told transmax z was the best oil for the job. does both transfer and manual gearcase..

i just have some at home so was considering using it in the stagea..

I... with either Nissan's Matic J AND their transmission additive satchel ....

does anyone know about this satchel? the nissan dealer i went to told me i was stupid for suggesting that. and that nissan dont do that, it must be some aftermarket thing that a dealer put in for the customer......

Dunno what is in it, but all new auto Nissan's have it put into their transmissions.

Anyone else is not supposed to have it included in a service, it was just that the guys wanted to put it in when they serviced my trans last year.

I would imagine it is a combination of synthetic additives.

Certainly made a difference in mine!

They did tell me that t was from some company in the US and was designed specifically for Nissan for Nissan transmissions.

For some reason, it can be had for $30 if your dealership is friendly towards we "fringe dwellers" with our "underworld-roaming" cars.

out of interest i just looked this up.

http://www.tds.castrol.com.au/pdf%5C9070_T...828_2008_12.pdf

its specifically for japanese built transmissions and the pdf also says it is an alternative to nissan matic j.

The transmax z is probably fine too, but from the sounds of it this one is better? dunno.

    • Don't even try to run it on the stock ECU if you're going to have the boost controller bring boost above ~10 psi. I've already told you that. If you use the Nistune ECU, you will need to CAREFULLY read the available documentation for Neo tuning, and read some threads on the Nistune forums, to discover the various things you have to do to prevent the ECU from going bananas when the boost is too high. The is a table associated with th boost sensor that must be modified to prevent it from shitting the bed. This is just one of the things that you will need to do to the tune in Nistune, because the Neo turbo ECU will be expecting to see a number of things (such as the TCS) that are not there, and you have to block the DTCs on those. It is totally not surprising to me that you are having the problems that you are, but the solutions to these problems have been known for >15 years. So just get it done.
    • Hi. Sry iam not a mechanic and iam not at the car atm so i dont know 100% but they told they measure those and even try to change those. AFM they have two. Coils are new a they have my old one too. Plugs too. ECU...we have 25 NEO stock and Nistune 25 NEO.   But i dont know if any one those could be the problem and why/if/what can cause this, Only thing they did not check is fuel...but that walbro 255 is new(like 1,5 years)... That fuel pressure gauge idk...but i let them know Any suggestions?   EDIT: how can they know if it is like you say he ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high? Tha car has boost controler
