Funnily enough, I'm quicker with a disgusting hangover.

Witness Dutton 2007, still a bit drunk, never been to Sandown, 2nd lap, 1:20.1 lolol

Probable coz you didn't fear the walls as much. Sandown is a bit of a fear track. Less fear can = faster...

sorry to get back on topic... but for interest sake i thought id just post this up.. i removed my a/c in the engine bay last night.. compressor, bracket, bolts, condensor, piping, reciever dryer - 15kgs

hicas valve in engine bay - 5kgs

battery - 10kgs

by moving the battery to the back.. thats 30kg in front of the front wheels.... gone!!.. i picked up my 2 15kg weight plates to feel how heavy 30kg is being able to be held in two hands and its heavy..

next thing im going to try and do is locate the charcoal cannister, power steering resovior and coolant bleeder tank behind the front axle somehow.

back on the new topic at hand.. i find i have difficulty breathing with the a/c on and i harldy ever use it.. its never worked in the 32 and weve survived a summer and a winter without it.. now that its not a daily driver or even weekend warrior, im sure it wont be needed.. i need fresh air.. even if its warm..

Do you receive any errors when you turn on the demister as it tries to turn on the a/c? is there anyway to not turn on the a/c with the demister?

i had removed the aircon in my 32 from the firewall forward and the demister worked fine, but i would always leave it on 32degrees so when i did turn the demister on it was already on hot if that makes sense

lol, yeah I dunno, J Beable was telling me the story how he barrell rolled his Porshe down the back fence as I was strapping in.... I put it down to just trying to put on a good show for Roy :D

my a/c didnt work since i bought the car.. compressor died from a dud pressure switch.. demister and fan worked fine.. no dramas, took a little longer to heat up but all good... the silly automated temp control mixer motor thing had it stuck on hot anyway.. fark me it was hot inside that car so im used to no aircon.

    • Yea - I mean I've seen my fuel pump which is decades old and uh, while I'm not saying this with real knowledge... but I sure get the ick at using anything in the fuel system that produced the state of that pump. Many years ago I went through multiple pumps (and strainers) before I dropped the tank to clean it out with extreme violence. I'm talking the car would do maybe 50km before coming to a halt, which resulted in me cleaning out the filter with some brake cleaner and going on my way. None of my stuff ever looked like what came out of your fuel tank. I don't think I'd be happy with it unless every single component was replaced (or at least checked/cleaned/confirmed to be clean here).
    • I'm not going to recommend an EBC pad. I don't like them. Just about anything else would suit me better. I've been using Intima pads for a while now.
    • Agreed, and in particular the earth strap that should go from the subframe to the chassis but it often broken or left off. There is a section in the R32 workshop manual you can follow for troubleshooting if you don't see anything suspicious, and depending where you are (there is no location on your user profile) you should be able to get your hands on a second hand replacement unit still if needed
    • Yeah they mention as a R34 for 2.5 Turbo...but then again thos "small" were also for R34 by that different site. But i look into it and that 310mm EBC is for R34 GTT. And by those you linked the specs are the same 🙂    EDIT: I found these on one site here: DBA 4000 series T3 DBA42304S They are 310mm...and it says are for R34GTT...are there good? EDIT2: ok they have pads too.  What "color" should i get for street use? I dont want/need some noisy ones...(and if they are not that dusty that is good too)
    • Yeah, shame. Maybe  driver's carpet is available 🙏. I am waiting for both amayama and nangun to confirm.
