mines bashed out , i got i tuned when it was bashed out, it sounded a bit louder and gained mayb a little tiny bit of kws but its not worth having an EPA and stuff like that. Im gona chuck on back my CATCO highflow cat.

when dyno tuning and dyno running, better without cat, this will deliver a more accurate A/F ratio as all tuners run the WB O2 using an exhaust sniffer rather than mounting it in the dump, pre cat where the cat doesn't affect the reading.

And yes, more power, with cats, once they're hot they become a restriction.

No cat is better, can run a straight pipe with the stock cat plate welded on so no1 notices; simply swap to compliance cat if you need an EPA. A regular RWC mechanic wont notice it either.

if you are paranoid n wanna play it right, seems those 5inch body high flow metal cats are the answer; not cheap though. Probably wont pass EPA either so better jst run the straight pipe n swap it to compliance when u need to get tested.....enjoy the flames also lolz

Hey sorry to hijack this thread a bit but what sort of power gain do you think i would see converting from a standard cat (2.5 inch inlet / outlet modified to fit 3 inch) to a highflow cat? Note I currently have a full split dump / front pipe which is 3' and the rest of the exhaust (excluding cat) is 3' aswell.

I had no cat for a while, couldnt stand the fumes, headache material.

I put a Metal Cat 3.5 inch 100 cell cat back into my system and I love it. The horrible fumes are gone. The exhaust no longer stinks out the garage and I lost zero power when it went in. Response even improved when it went in and ECU got retuned.

a fair bit. cat is the biggest restriction in your exhaust, then dump, and lastly catback. you've gone about it backwards like i did.

Yeh bought it from a guy who said it was a catless system... Got home bolted it up n realised there was a gap which matched where the cat would be

So yeh just on the cheap atm... so am waiting for one to come up.

depending on what state you are in, the fine for not having a catalytic converter on a street car can be up to $10,000.

if your chasing 1 or 2kw by running a decat pipe, is it really worth the fine? if u want to make more power, dont f**k around with cats, get your engine built, better turbo, deacent ecu, and a good tune.

+1

Also with decat/bashed cats, on a white car you get brown stains/marks on the rear bar.

but. the flames?

seriously though its not worth it ey, if all you get out of it is some flames and a non-noticable power increase.

if you got the car with an exhaust already wouldnt bother stuffin around man, if it were completely stock on the other hand, would get a whole new turbo back.

    • Haha, i kow right? Could have bought so many cars for the same amount of money (or less) but driving Unicorn gives you at least +1mln to style 😅. Like wise man said "life's to short to drink cheap wine and drive boring cars" 😉
    • Newbie here, proud owner of an Autech 260RS. I'm on the hunt for wiring diagrams specific to the 260RS, particularly S1. I've ran my eyes through R33, R34 Diagrams, there are some similarities, however continue to find incorrect wire colours and pins on connectors in the 33,34 diagrams.   I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction? I'd be happy to pay for the originals in Japanese. I can translate them, at least they would be accurate.   Any help please would be greatly appreciated, never heard an RB26DETT before let alone driven one, and I've got a spaghetti monster of goodness to sort out.   Cheers Benny
    • Hey all  im wondering if you can help me please I have put a rb20 box in my r34 gtt as my auto packed up and a friend had a spare box I know it’s not ideal but it will get me up and running for now. we have done the conversation and everything is working great but my Speedo we got a s13 speed sensor but my Speedo reads double now and I bought a speed converter but still not having any luck.  so I thought I’ll reach out and pick your brains  any help would be appreciated please as I wanna drive my car again
    • Drain it. I got official Matic D but you can get whatever is listed as Matic D compatible.
    • Thanks guys,  Yeah I should at least have them dynoed, at least then I know what I've got as a starting point.  The springs on these are hard as rocks. I vaguely remember Russman saying he was going to sell the shocks to me with the rocks fitted, as he was keeping the softer springs for his new setup.  I didn't click at the time but of course that was to let me know the shock/spring wouldn't be matched.  I also remember pricing up new springs around 2014-15, but, house, money etc. it never happened. So that was another reason to have them rebuilt. I have rebuilt the forks on many motorcycles so I think I could handle the seals on these easily enough, but getting the valving right would be a rabbit hole I cbf exploring.  Duncan, interesting to hear RP was tuning these back then. I might give them a call.  In the mean time I have been busy fitting sway bars. The Whiteline rear sway bar I purchased 15 years ago finally got fitted, along with the Whiteline front bar that showed up last week. Just waiting on new links for the front sway bar to finish that off.  And my spare set of advan AVS VS5's should be back from the powder coaters in a Pearl White finish sometime this week, with a set of Hankook RS4's lined up for fitting.  And then I just have all the suspension bushes to do. A comprehensive kit is on the way... Lots to do before the Ararat hill climb. Cheers guys 🍻
