[taken from Rezz's photo thread, because I wouldn't want to detract from the threads purity :D And added here because someone was obviously interested]

Dealership prices (which is what you will find in car classified magazines) -

(obviously could go even cheaper via the owner or via auction)

* the average 95 r33 GTR is somewhere between 1.75-2million yen (you can get them a lot cheaper - but you get what you pay for).

* Decent 96 GTRs seem to be around the 2.3 - 2.5million area

* 97s are around 2.7-2.9ish

* 98s are high 2s - early 3million yen

* Add around 300,000+ for a v-spec

* below average to decent early r33s (turbo) can be had for 400,000 (sometimes less) to 900,000yen. I've seen a few heavily modifed examples (with low kms) go for considerably more than that. SIIs seem to range from around 600,000 to 1.6mill. Bearing in mind that those at the higher end would be showroom condition and modified.

4-doors are a little cheaper.

I've seen r34 GTRs dipping into the mid 3million mark. Nice GTTs are still around 1.8-2million-ish.

Interestingly, a low km late model r32 GTR will still earn a 2million+ price tag - with v-specs worth quite a bit indeed, given their age. Definitely a few 89 models going below the 750,000yen mark - but export demand might affect that.

You can pick up an early r32 turbo for next to nothing - literally.

using today's exchange rate as an example:

500,000yen=$6,312

750,000yen=$9,468

1million yen=$12,624

1.25mill yen=$15,781

1.5mill yen=$18,937

1.75mill yen=$$22,093

2mill yen=$25,249

2.5mill yen=$31,562

3mill yen=$37,874

3.5mill yen=$44,186

cheapest r32 gts-t I've seen for sale at a dealership=$1,136 (but I have also seen several offered for free - as the owners don't want to pay to get them towed away...)

I want an r33 gtr in the future, maybe 34 depending on price

so all up your looking at nearly 40K

ive seen a few vspecs for mid 40s

ide have to say for peace of mind.. being able to drive and see your car when you buy it.. i would rather buy it here

well . i will sell you my r33 . 40K . its damn excellent. now its getting the full workout ( similar to the mines response kit ) . :D

Is this the one you let run out of oil?

Or the one your putting a Microtech MTX8 on that you want for $250 cause its all you have?

Or the one that money is no object and you want the best performance possible?

Let us know. Were all interested...

    • Before I get to the test day, just to finish off the android head unit. This is a demo from car start up....the standard/host system takes a few seconds to boot (same as all v37) but Android comes up quickly. In this vid I'm using the delivered launcher but have set the default to Agami since which is easier to navigate when if use primarily 5 apps. You can see the host system still takes over when required eg putting it in reverse, and you can switch between Android and not by holding the back button 3 sec. It is pretty responsive (fast) but you can see I had to press harder than expected a couple of times.  I still have the phone connected to the stock system, and that also seamlessly takes over Android music playing. v37-android-demo.mp4 The bigger reason that I put this in though is so that I can use Ecutek directly on the head unit. That gives me a dash with logging (up to 20MB only), high and low value warnings on any parameter etc etc. I've run a USB cable from the Ecutek OBD dongle to a USB input on the unit, easy. v37-ecutek-demo.mp4   The unit did freeze on the launcher the other day, I think Agami was trying to verify the license when it didn't have a data connection...will monitor and report back if there are any other problems but so far I'm very happy with the upgrade.
    • Nah that is just crappy GPS mapping, I did have a small excursion (cold tyres, damp track, surprise!), will post up that when I get a chance.
    • So 10/10 times that code is coil packs? I mean if that's the case ill drop the $400USD or so to replace them. I didn't know these cars threw codes before the issue became an issue.
