when you say torque is meaningless ..how so?..

is that why everyone posts kw figures but nobody posts torque?

yeah i was told if i wired up two afms so the ecu was tricked to think it was one it could work, however i just figured this would make the car run rich , thinking it was getting twice as much air as it was...which of course i didnt want to do

i have seen it done, but only on cars running management

torque at the wheels is different in every gear too. you'll have a lot more in 3rd than in 4th. so unless its corrected to torque at the flywheel by calculation its fairly useless.

you cant run 2 afm's with the stock ecu

Have you just looked at the outside of your ecu or have you pulled the cover off it?

Also lets not forget that there are some "happy" dyno's around, if the one you were on is a happy dyno it could be reading 10-20kw higher than it should, where did you get it done?

If you have a look in the rb25 upgrade thread you will find people with your same set up doing similar sorts of power so its far from out of the question, as i have found tho the limit of the standard injectors (if they are standard), fuel pump and afm is around 200rwkw, im doing 210rwkw with the injectors seeing 100% and the afm tuned to 110% so if you go a hi flow you will need to upgrade all of these and your ecu, plus a fmic if you are still running the standard one.

Changing the ramp rate on a dyno can change torque readings. As will other factors.

The true test is the 1/4 mile.

yeah , apparently its run 12.4, on stock street rubber, soon as calder opens im gunna go find out for myself i think..might have just been a flukey run..or had a a tank full of metho...lol

we opend the ecu up all appears normal, although the sticker on the side says re-manufactured nissan ecu, i havent been able to compare it to any others ..if anyone has pics of a stock label on theres would be interested to see

The dyno seemed pretty legit, it was run a year earlier and pulled over 200kw so im guessing that was a happy dyno...and they were throttling it alot harder..

dont mean to be rude mate, but if the car is performing how you want it, and drives how you want it to, and you happy with the power and torque of the engine, why do you care about a dyno print out? do what your mate said, and enjoy it! who cares what a dyno says!!

agree 100% with adamskill... dude if its got good A/Fs and is fast point to point. just love it :D haha

Righton fellas, the more i been yabbering on here the more i've realized, who cares ..i love driving it, unfortunately theres not the room or oppurtunity to drive it the way i would like..

on the roads so i think my best bet is to get to the track and just enjoy it for what its worth..learn some new skills

Its not what you got on paper but what you got on the tarmac that matters.

Now i just gotta put me car bak 2geva n hope she works again

Just for the record the A/Fs were purrrfect :D Cheers

good idea mate. ill give you the hot tip tho, all the bull shit on this forum about dyno's goes strait out the window when you take ya skyline to the track and realise that ya 10-15 year old car has brakes that dissapear after 2 laps, suspension that is sloppier than porrage, and tyres that loose traction mid corner and spin ya into the dirt. then u realise that dyno's mean absolutley sweet f**k all. rant over. have fun mate!! adam

You never mentioned if it has a fmic, if it hasnt then i wouldnt take it to the track without one, would hate to see your inlet temps after the first lap.

no it is on my list of things to do along with new tyres. and an oil change..lol..

if you have a spare one laying around ill happily take it off your hands :D

i do actually, hks one in fact, has the bottom plate bent but no damage to tubes, i'll dig it out and take a pic when i get around to it.

    • Don't even try to run it on the stock ECU if you're going to have the boost controller bring boost above ~10 psi. I've already told you that. If you use the Nistune ECU, you will need to CAREFULLY read the available documentation for Neo tuning, and read some threads on the Nistune forums, to discover the various things you have to do to prevent the ECU from going bananas when the boost is too high. The is a table associated with th boost sensor that must be modified to prevent it from shitting the bed. This is just one of the things that you will need to do to the tune in Nistune, because the Neo turbo ECU will be expecting to see a number of things (such as the TCS) that are not there, and you have to block the DTCs on those. It is totally not surprising to me that you are having the problems that you are, but the solutions to these problems have been known for >15 years. So just get it done.
    • Hi. Sry iam not a mechanic and iam not at the car atm so i dont know 100% but they told they measure those and even try to change those. AFM they have two. Coils are new a they have my old one too. Plugs too. ECU...we have 25 NEO stock and Nistune 25 NEO.   But i dont know if any one those could be the problem and why/if/what can cause this, Only thing they did not check is fuel...but that walbro 255 is new(like 1,5 years)... That fuel pressure gauge idk...but i let them know Any suggestions?   EDIT: how can they know if it is like you say he ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high? Tha car has boost controler
    • Can you clarify what you mean by boost cut, do you mean it misfires both when under load (driving) and when stationary and out of gear? Or does the ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high (boost control issue)? Does it occur at idle with no throttle? When you say "the ECU is OK", what ECU is it and why do you think it is OK? Have you used the NEO ECU, and if so do you have a MAP sensor attached? Same for the AFM, why do you think it is OK? Do you have any way to put a fuel pressure gauge on it (even just a mechanical one between the fuel filter and fuel rail)?
    • Hi.. Just another problem. So maybe you can help. I(my mechanic) done swap from my RB20DE NEO to RB25DET NEO. Everything is OK but we have a boost cut. Coils/Plugs are ok...AFM is ok. ECU is ok. I have Walbro 255 but it "changed" sound few months ago(you can hear it ouside) you did not hear that when it was new(maybe faulty?) Sooo...what now? What can cause this boost cut? It is even when you standing still...
