when i bought my line i was still on my p's and just about every day i would have to try to stick my rear p plate back on as it would keep falling off..

i know this doesnt seem like much but after buying a set of p's every couple of days started to bug me to the point of just leaving it on the parcel shelf..

only got fined once in the 3months b4 getting off my p's

how hard is it to display your Ps ? Is the reason someone would not display them so they dont get hassled about their skyline ?

exactly, its not hard, alright sometimes the back one falls off as stated previously, but i havent done anything to bring attention to myself so the cops can be happy that they have gotten another teen import driver

simply follow this basic, easy to understand rule, and you'll be right

display p plate = no fine

Well there's the power to weight ratio law which works out that even a gts-t is illegal for p-plate. So if you put up p-plate in a gts-t sure you'd get pulled over more.

Even for full license I heard the law is tougher now. Only 12 points available before you loose your license instead of 18 points. I think i'll just be driving slow with one arm hanging on a steering wheel and the other slumbering on the centre console rest.

ive neva heard of any detuned sky 33 being p plate legal in victoria as there is no need to detune them as if u put most stock ones on the dyno i doubt they would get more then 125kw, its the factory power figure that counts so no, no r33 or 34 gtst/gtt is legal for a p plata in vic

ffs , they are illegal its the factory figure do the math! it isnt the killowatt at the wheels when put on a dyno its the ****ing figure the factory the factory at the flywheel which is used not the wheels .....its illegal...

sorry im tired of reading its legal...

You can drive em on your Ps if you detune them cant you ? Thats what people say but are the cops actually ok with that?

you can and i got the go ahead...! but after a few weeks i took out the restriction and had it running normal power.. i did this for 2 years and never got pulled over once :)

edit* just re-read quote, hmm 2 different things are being said?

haha, i doubt it nath..

5 points, haha, that would have meant I would have lost my license about twice during my p-plate years! and since have gone on to have a pretty damn good driving record and never actually lost my license in about 8 years (other than my constant "donations" to the government).. people aren't really going to change their habits, the government is just going to annoy more people and make more money off them. Bracks is ****ed next election, and he'll probably wonder why...

    • I can get more photos of it here soon and I plan to make a thread detailing the process. I received the car this way and it sorely needs refinishing. That is probably the most appealing photo of it. Up close it is fading, cracked, and needs to be re-glued. Depending on their condition I'm on the fence between refinishing or making a new set.  Another angle hiding the pimples and razor pumps
    • According to this thread the RS4V with build plate RC40 comes with the R200 diff @ 4.083 ratio as well (mine has said RC40 denotation). We may need to check if the axle stubs are the same pattern as well. The auto subframes have longer axles. However I think yours being a later Series 2 as well, we should have the same bolt pattern for the diff stubs. Unless your upgraded rear also has upgraded axles. Either way, I would not be opposed to pulling the covers to check so I can inspect that  fancy rear core  Also I don't have HICAS. I don't believe that should change things but I hope the people here with heaps more experience than me can correct me if I'm wrong   Let me know if you want to attempt to make this work and I can get some pictures of mine from under the car.
    • It's not that straightforward. For example I have had this code because my ignitor/power transistor wires were unplugged. It knows something is wrong but has no idea what it means. If you want to actually diagnose this I recommend following the service manual flowchart for code 21. Ohm out the harness, coilpacks, inspect the ECU, etc. And again, it's entirely possible for there to be no problem at all but if you're running a different coilpack it'll trigger the code because it doesn't like what it sees.
    • If it (the code) wasn't still current, it should have gone away by itself by now. No, nothing it 10/10. But it is quite likely. Everything else to do with the ignition could still be responsible (which is wires and connectors). The car is an old piece of shit now, so all the wires and connectors are also old pieces of shit.
    • Lock me in mate, although I'm not sure if I'll be heading up from Goulburn or down from Sydney, either way, return will be back to Goulburn
