Very Oily Pods Or Panel Filter

hey guys,

just changed over my Trust Airnix (sand sucker) pods for the stock air box with a K&N filter, and i noticed on the inside of the pod there was heaps of black grime/oil?

i didnt oil the pods, i just ran them dry. yes i know, not a good idea.

so i changed back to something that will filter better, as i had blown my turbos then spun a bearing.

so with a rebuild bottom end with forgies and -5's. gonna try and make sure i keep the GTR healthy.

so has anyone else experienced what i am describing?

i am just wanting to know if i should be worried where the oily residue is coming from?

it definitely isnt coming from outside the filter cos its pretty clean in comparison to the inside.

could it be some oil from the recirc pipe from the Stock BOV??

i did have the pods on with the old turbos and std engine, plus the old filter i had before i changed to the pods was covered in this oily residue?

cheers,

Brezza

nah,

the pods werent factory oiled, they were dry.

the recirc pipe does attach itself between the AFM and turbo.

but when the BOV releases the pressure you can hear the air come out through the pods.

i was thinking that since the air passes through the BOV, then recirc pipe, through the AFM then out the pod to make a Pshh noise then maybe some oil or residue would pass through aswell.

anyone else experienced the same?
