I havent booked the flight yet, car is being inspected by Motacheck today, dealer recommended them - I hope they arent 'affiliated'.

There's usually a flight that arrives around 930am or the next one is just after mid-day, will let yas know cheers!

PM Sent with the details Will (didn't see your thread until now. Sorry)

I have been told that Synergy to actually have pretty good stock.

That Axis kit is not an option from factory for an ARX (as you will see in the PM).

It has been available for a considerable amount time (over a year I think) and $27k is too high IMO.

If I recall correctly, it has Tein suspension, but other than that and the Axis kit, it looks pretty stock to me... although I am confused... Where did the aftermarket screen go?

It was in the rear interior pic, but not in the drivers seat pic.

hmmm.

I was wondering exactly the same...

Looked like one of the "much more useful than OEM" Panasonic units, like mine.

Yep looks like the bose system. Doesn't the screen pop down into the dash?

It has definitely been lowered. The wheels may fill the guards but whats their excuse for the low (ie. non-ARX) ride height?

74000kms is pretty normal. Most freshly imported M35's I've seen are in the 60-80K kms ballpark.

25K seems a little high but then I'm not sure what AR-X's go for...they're definitely a higher spec than the RS and a notch up from the RX too if I remember correctly.

Got them down to 25k, still a premium...

It's advertised as Bose sound system...

Sales dude reckons its standard suspension but because the wheels on arx are higher profile it fills the guards better. :O

:)

Does he realise that while the ARX has 18's as opposed to the RS's 17's, the ARX is also 40mm higher than an RS, RX or Axis?

Definitely check out if it actually is the Bose system. Bose and the standard integrated system look almost identical

?? I thought the standard integrated system IS Bose? There's another AR-X on carsales that has the same one.

Yeah they've got a silver axis there grade 4C with auction papers. K's are too high for my liking though.

I'm not too keen on the suspension being so low, i've heard teins can be quite stiff.

There are three audio systems.

RS gets the Clarion single DIN unit (which allows for the 3 gauge unit or storage compartment)

The RX and ARX all have the integrated dash, but it can be either the Bose option or standard unit (clarion maybe?)

I believe that the Axis models come standard with Bose... but I may be mistaken.

Hey Guys

thanks for all the volunteers to help. The car is in some sort of warehouse.

I paid for an inspection done by Motacheck yesterday.

The car isnt quite what i'm looking for so I wont go to adelaide this weekend.

Main thing is the suspension is so low it bottoms out over smallish bumps. Rear is unstable when driving... inside tyre wear on front tyres... in my opinion could have been a car setup for drift... could explain the replaced front bumper and rear tyres had much less tread left than fronts. Everything else about the car is good though I am a bit fussy.

Today I'm bidding on a grade 4.5 ARX with 28,000ks on it!

cheers

    • Well the install is officially done. Filled with fluid and bled it today, but didn't get a chance to take it on a test drive. I'll throw some final pics of the lines and whatnot but you can definitely install a DMAX rack in an R33 with pretty minor mods. I think the only other thing I had to do that isn't documented here is grind a bit of the larger banjo fitting to get it to clear since the banjos are grouped much tighter on the DMAX rack. Also the dust boots from a R33 do not fit either fyi, so if you end up doing this install for whatever reason you'll need to grab those too. One caveat with buying the S15 dust boots however is that the clamps are too small to fit on the R33 inner tie rod since they're much thicker so keep the old clamps around. The boots also twist a bit when adjusting toe but it's not a big deal. No issues or leaks so far, steering feels good and it looks like there's a bit more lock now than I had before. Getting an alignment on Saturday so I'll see how it feels then but seems like it'll be good to go
    • I don't get in here much anymore but I can help you with this.   The hole is a vent (air relief) for the brake proportioning valve, which is built into the master cylinder.    The bad news is that if brake fluid is leaking from that hole then it's getting past the proportioning valve seals.   The really bad news is that no spare parts are available for the proportioning valve either from Nissan or after market.     It's a bit of a PITA getting the proportioning valve out of the master cylinder body anyway but, fortunately, leaks from that area are rare in my experience. BTW, if those are copper (as such) brake lines you should get rid of them.    Bundy (steel) tube is a far better choice (and legal  in Australia - if that's where you are).
    • EMU Classic. For what I need it to do I see no reason to upgrade. Link and Haltech would both cost an extra chunk of money for a lot of unutilized features
