Well I am starting the saving process to make an order so that hopefully by year end I can have everything needed for my upgrade. Here is my base and what my plans are and let me know what you think of it.

Base:

ER34 RB25DET Neo - pretty much stock

NGK Iridiums BKR7EX-11 gapped to 0.8

HKS FMIC

Trust 13 row Oil Cooler

Two Core Radiator

Kakimoto 3.5" Exhaust

Blitz ECU

Blitz SSBC

Blitz Timer and Gauge

Trust Air Filter

Defi Boost, Oil Temp, Oil Pressure, Water Temp, EGT

Plans:

HKS Bottom Mount Manifold - Actually Have this already

GT3076R 0.82A/R with four bolt turbin housing and V-band add-on

External Wastegate - Not sure what size to go with and also what alternative can I use instead of the HKS that will fit properly on the manifold? I am thinking like a Tial 40mm, your thoughts??

Spare head with the RB26DETT ITBs and Intake Manifold setup - Help eliminate the pipe running over and also a better look same time

Keeping the TCS

RB26DETT 700CC Injectors with HKS/Tomei/Sard Fuel Rail and Resistor pack

RB26 Cam Cover and Center Plate - Bling

Keeping VCT Solenoid

Oil Return from Head

Cosworth Headgasket

Tomei Restrictor and block off as well

ARP Headstuds

Clutch ?????

I really don't want to get in the block if I do get some extra cash and I get an entire spare engine I will get the collar attached to the snout, freshen up the block with bearings, ARP mains and ARP rod bolts also try to adapt the RB26 sump as well. Can I get your thoughts on the setup and also what clutch recommendation for a daily driver that will be at some points be in standstill traffic and on hills as well, not looking for something aggressive but able to handle 450HP. Also, what wastegate option? My management will be a toss up between the Vipec and the Power FC, the Power FC being so expensive now I may swing the Vipec way. Please no bashing on the management but on all other aspects feel free :mrt:.

How do you plan to keep traction control when you're fitting 26 ITB's? the Neo TCS setup is an additional butterfly in front of the standard throttlebody. Could maybe chop the casting and fit it before the 26 plenum chamber I guess.

US Ebay is your friend for skylines.

I'm in florida... and I just bought heaps of gear here, then sent it home.

The prices are so much cheaper for most things... Hell I bought 2 N1 oil pumps new for 140 each!!!

US spec turbo was better quality for the price than you can buy anywhere in Aus

Fuel gear, AFM's, gaskets etc... all cheaper, even considering the exchange rate and shipping costs.

What u smokin bro?!?

Last time i checked 450hp was more like 335kw so the GT3076R should do it ....but with lots of boost!!!

Last time i checked- 450hp was indeed 335kw. However it is NOT 335rwkw.

Now take off drivetrain losses etc and you are back to around 260-270rwkw give/take.

450hp = @ the motor. That is what the question/requirement was, so therefore that is what i used.

If the OP gets his terminology wrong, then that's not my problem :D

A GT3076 is a 600hp turbo, if you want 450hp, you do not use a GT3076

but why did ash suddenly change it from rwkw to fwkw? i wouls assume that the OP was chasing 450hp at the treads, which is around 335kw.

see above :)

I've never seen a 600hp 3076, that's 3040/30R territory. Proper 3076's are 500HP. A 3071 can get him 450hp, but not with much head room. A 3076 otoh is pretty much a guaranteed 450hp with supporting mods without that much difference in response.

Garrett rate the 3076 at 525 hp max.

From what I've read, the 3071 is a bit of a dog. Go the 3076 with the 0.63 AR.

Also go ext waste if you can, otherwise specify the 18 psi actuator.

I've got 555 now but expect to get 600 out of it that's for sure.

Always get the most out of life, isn't that what Mum and Dad taught us ?

If it blows, just get a GT4088R ! :D

well you certainly wont have it when you have the 26 plenum... so that part is sorted

as for the light... remove dash - remove bulb - problem soved

3071 in my GTT if that helps, 278.5rwkw @ 17psi. So are we talking at the wheels here or not?

depends what you mean with no extra lag introduced by bigger turbo and now more balls. see the dyno curves on that link. its a little slower coming on boost than stock but thats about it and makes for a fun and drivable car ...

    • So, I put my boat on a boat. First of all, I'm going to come out and say it. Why is Tasmania not considered a holy goal, an apex that all road-legal modified cars go to, to experience? This place is an absolute wonderland of titanic proportions. If people are already getting club runs for once in a lifetime 30 person cruises to Tassy then I've never seemed to see it. It is like someone replaced the entire place with an idyllic wonderland for cars, and all of the people living there with paid actors who are kind, humble, and friendly. Dear god. After doing a lap of almost all of the place I've found that it's a great way to find out all of the little things that the car isn't doing quite right and a great way to figure it all out. All in all, I drove for 4 hours a day for a week and nothing broke. I didn't even need to open the engine bay. This is by all means a great success, but it has left me with a list of things to potentially address. I also now have a 3D printed wheel fitment tool which annoyingly hasn't got any threads in it to actually assemble it. I might be able to tape it together to check the sizing I actually want to use, but it'll likely involving pulling the shocks out to properly measure travel at least at the front, and probably raise the car while I'm at it, at least in the rear. I scraped on quite a few things and I'm not sure how else to go about it. I was taking anything with a bump at what felt like 89 degree angles. And address those 10 other tasks. And wash the car. God damn it is dirty. And somehow, the weather was perfect the entire time - And because I was on the top of Mt Wellington it turns out it was very much about to freeze up there. I did something I typically never do and took some photos up there in what must have been -10 and the foggy felt like suspended ice, rather than mere fog. If you own a car in Australia, you owe it to yourself to do it.
    • Damn that was hilarious, and a bit embarrassing for skylines in general 😂 vintage car life ey. That R33 really stomped. Pretty entertaining stuff
    • Hi, I have a r32 gtr transmission. Does any of you guys have an idea how much power it will hold with the billet center plate and stock gearset? At what power level and use did yours brake with or without billet plate? Thanks, Oystein Lovik
    • Saw this replica police car based on a Mitsubishi Starion XX parked next to a 'police box' (it's literally a box) in Hirohata, Himeji City in Hyogo prefecture the other day. It's owned by Morii-san who is a local Mitsubishi Starion enthusiast. According to a local radio station blog post, he always wanted to make a police car himself based on ones he saw in his favourite Manga comics.  As it's illegal to modify a car to look like a police car and drive on the road, Morii-san tried many times to get permission from Aboshi police station headquarters nearby. They refused initially by after they got tired of that they granted him permission. However, the car can only be displayed on private property and obviously can't be registered as long as the police livery is present. The car was completed at a cost of 1.5 million yen (US$ 10,000) in addition to the car cost. A location was chosen outside Hirohata Police box where the car can easily been seen from the street. Morii-san has two other Starion road cars, both widebody GSR-VRs.
