Too much information, mongor!!!!

You shouldn't need to force the engine backwards. If you disconnect everything correctly, the engine should just roll back and rest the back of the rocker covers against the firewall.

i agree with the slight jack up of the front of the engine works wonders.

but at the same time it can be done without doing anything, but it took me 2 hours just to get the box back in the first time and it was the last time i changed a gear box on the floor.

I used a trolley jack hold the majority of the weight of the gear box while my mate I got it at the correct angle for it to slide in.

It's even worse with a 25 box..

As mentioned above, gotta put it in rotated.

With the 25 box I have to go as far as dropping the engine crossmember about an inch (as far down as it will go wit the nuts still having purchase) but this is also due to the bigass fitting at the back of head.

alright thanks guys, well the gearbox crossmemeber is stil attatched to the box so i guess if im going to rotate it i will have to take it off, or i might drop the crossmember, if its not to hard.

:)

I vote for jacking up sump or even the front pulleys, but use wood so you dont damage anything.

once you have the box on and you cant get it close enough at the top to get those stupid top bolts in you can place some wood or a stand under the front of the engine and jack up the back of the gearbox so they oppose each other and then you can chuck the bottom bolts in and the the top will close up by itself under the strain :)

This saved me a lot of time when putting in the gearbox by myself (no friends)

sounds like a good tip,

i scored a trans jack from work, woop woop, just wish this rain would stop, workin in a river aint fun.

when it stops ima try puttin the box in upside down n then rotating it onces its on,

if that doesnt work then ill try jacking the front of the sump and or loosening the crossmember abit,

no doubt that wouldnt be fun without a rattle gun tho

ok guys its all in and the cars back ;)

thanks for the help everyone, in the end i had to do everything, drop crossmember, loosen engine mounts, jack up front of sump, and then put the trans in upside down then onces the front of the input shaft was just inside the clutch plate i was able to rotate it so that the bellhousing was lined up n then a bit of wiggling and the box went in :D

cheers everyone

and those top bolts were a piece of piss with the crossmember dropped and stuff, should have done it all like that in the first place, only bolt i struggled with was the top starter motor bolt, just took ages, 1 click of a ratchet at a time lol

    • Hi from Canada, Both of my calipers are starting to fail. My car is a 2005 M35 Stagea ARX and I can't seem to find any parts or any cross reference caliper that would fit my car. Is there a company or a similar caliper that would fit and I could replace the OEM one. Or if anyone knows where I can find a new OEM. Any help is very appreciated. Let me know!
    • Maf is a question mark but TPS  I have set at 0.47, the fact that I’m getting proper voltage range out of it with the key on leads me to believe it’s functioning properly. I’m getting proper voltages on basically everything. I still need to look up voltage ranges for z32 maf and test that
    • Honestly no not at all, but it’s a very basic tune, it’s stock injectors q45 tps and z32 maf. Other than that it’s a completely stock base map. The file is from nistune and from my understanding if it was tune related I would be able to unplug maf and tps and it would still start even if it was a really shitty start. I have tried starting it with coolant temp, maf, and tps unplugged none of those 3 togethor or individually changes anything

    • What does it look like with highway driving? And yes, I had a similar thought as Duncan. It looks quite similar in my Stagea and I have made myself accept it as normal. Might have to look into it some day   Highway gets as low as 10l/100km on my end so I'm not as worried about it being a mechanical issue. More likely just the tune on the haltech.
