Once lights go orange, then you can turn right from the "hook" position on the left.

Actually if you do that you will get done for running a red light. You have to wait until the street you are turning into's light goes green, then you are free to go. Picture it this way, when you pull to the left and sit in front of all the cars you are effectively sitting with that group of cars waiting for your green light, it's as if you have pole position so to speak.

Really? None of the hookturn intersections have redlight camera's that i can think of :P

Interesting, now for the sake of knowing im gonna have to check out the intersections, i've been doing it that way for 8-10 years, no issues yet (touch wood)

I usually "start" on the orange, as in get in gear and get ready to move. It's well and truly green by the time i get it moving without stalling it - love my clutch :)

I wouldn't be possible right? Since if you're doing a hook turn you'd be sitting on a red light sensor thingy .... then you'd get flashed already.

I hate driving in the CBD, it takes me less time to walk to melbourne central from rmit and take a train home to blackburn than to drive home in peak hour traffic. Looks like i'll only be driving to the cbd on weekends and day when classes end early.

I understand the need for it, i dont understand acting like its the be all and end all of driving when its only necessary in the cbd of one city in victoria.

No brett...there were no questions relating to trams OR hook turns on either my learners or probationary.

Maybe they sustitute those questions for subjects on dodging cattle where you are :)

of which there are also none.

Why learn something im never really going to use? i avoid the city at all costs. Between Ballarat and the SE...i have everything i could ever need, shopping wise. :action-smiley-069:

Well I made sure I clarified it with the officers that night, and they said when the light goes green for the street you're turning onto, thats when you go...

nah... yall gotta git in tha left lane ti go right or sumptin...

mah..... i gotsta go... i'm on tha turlet!

lol

if you tell them that you are getting footage to use against them, it will go "missing" before you get there.

and dont say i'm being paranoid, as they have already done this to me on another matter...

they also "discovered" another officer who apparently "witnessed" the whole thing but "forgot" to mention it for a few months.

cops look after cops.....

what i'm saying is if there is chance of getting video evidence that will prove you innocent, you need to grab it ASAP

Oh ok. I thought you meant don't bother telling them before the court day. That might make the evidence inadmissible.

The guy in front that drove off got done today, cops rocked up at his home saying he has to take his car into preston to the impound depot, and has to attend a police station for his statement...

So now I have two other people same situation as me

Knowing now what I didn't about 5 years ago, the guy that got the cops to his front door should have said he wasn't driving at all that night and the car was at home with him, nothing they can do about it. Unless they have footage of his car somehow.

Go one better.

When they answer the door, and ask "are you XXX", just don't respond and say sorry, aint here.

No problem to make a statement in... 3-4 weeks and say you did nothing wrong.

Just means there is official record of your own views that nothing happened.

As long as everyone has the same story you will all be fine IMO.

Lawyer up together, beat the opressors!

Great advice, apart from the fact that it dosnt matter if your there or not, if they are there for the car and they can see the car then they will take it anyway, not mention all the other bullshit that will happen when you go to make your statement to the cop who you previously have told that your not home :D

^^^^ Wrong. The police can't just take your car from your home if you're not there. That is basically stealing. The Police are not above the law. When I had the cops come to my house those many years ago I should just have not answered the door. I had 4 cops come to the front door to give me a card to call another cop. Thats right, 4 cops in 2 cars to drop of a business card! I was young and stupid and answered the door. If I had of left them there I could have never called that cop because hey the card magically disapeared.

You live and learn.

Oh and yes Hamish, I'm sure you do know why they came, bloody Mazda and it's wicked little ways, kept me on my P plates for 6 years!!!

I think the key phrase here is "many years ago", which no doubt was many years before the hoon laws and other laws that seem come in every year, no to mention the increase in police powers.

At the end of the day you cant compare your experience to some one in the same situation today, back in the day you had to be caught red handed doing something, these days the laws are well and truly tilted in favour of the cops.

    • Don't even try to run it on the stock ECU if you're going to have the boost controller bring boost above ~10 psi. I've already told you that. If you use the Nistune ECU, you will need to CAREFULLY read the available documentation for Neo tuning, and read some threads on the Nistune forums, to discover the various things you have to do to prevent the ECU from going bananas when the boost is too high. The is a table associated with th boost sensor that must be modified to prevent it from shitting the bed. This is just one of the things that you will need to do to the tune in Nistune, because the Neo turbo ECU will be expecting to see a number of things (such as the TCS) that are not there, and you have to block the DTCs on those. It is totally not surprising to me that you are having the problems that you are, but the solutions to these problems have been known for >15 years. So just get it done.
    • Hi. Sry iam not a mechanic and iam not at the car atm so i dont know 100% but they told they measure those and even try to change those. AFM they have two. Coils are new a they have my old one too. Plugs too. ECU...we have 25 NEO stock and Nistune 25 NEO.   But i dont know if any one those could be the problem and why/if/what can cause this, Only thing they did not check is fuel...but that walbro 255 is new(like 1,5 years)... That fuel pressure gauge idk...but i let them know Any suggestions?   EDIT: how can they know if it is like you say he ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high? Tha car has boost controler
    • Can you clarify what you mean by boost cut, do you mean it misfires both when under load (driving) and when stationary and out of gear? Or does the ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high (boost control issue)? Does it occur at idle with no throttle? When you say "the ECU is OK", what ECU is it and why do you think it is OK? Have you used the NEO ECU, and if so do you have a MAP sensor attached? Same for the AFM, why do you think it is OK? Do you have any way to put a fuel pressure gauge on it (even just a mechanical one between the fuel filter and fuel rail)?
    • Hi.. Just another problem. So maybe you can help. I(my mechanic) done swap from my RB20DE NEO to RB25DET NEO. Everything is OK but we have a boost cut. Coils/Plugs are ok...AFM is ok. ECU is ok. I have Walbro 255 but it "changed" sound few months ago(you can hear it ouside) you did not hear that when it was new(maybe faulty?) Sooo...what now? What can cause this boost cut? It is even when you standing still...
