On behalf of the SAU Exec, thanks to all who attended the Xmas dinner tonight!

Special thanks to SAU:SA special guests Martin & Susan Donnon for coming along on behalf of the Willall Racing garage, and great to see John Munro rejoin the scene as well (hopefully either Martin or John will bring out their R35GTR for those who haven't seen one up close and personal yet)!

Thanks too to the organisers Steve and Luke (with help from others I am sure) who always make for a well organised and well run event.

Great to see such a big turnout of SAU:SA and SAU forum members .... hopefully some people who have not yet joined are considering doing so, and becoming inaugural members of the SAU:SA Club!

Yeah it was a great night.

Apart from catching up with my brother in law's nephew (niksta) who I had no idea was an SAU member, it was good to catch up with the usual crowd.

Also good to catch up with Martin after such a long time.....shame we didn't get a chance to chat longer.

Great to meet new member Dave (fungoolie) tonight and to finally meet John (Munro)......hope to catch up again soon John, maybe on one of those 8 Ball night sessions at Andrew's.

LOL, 3 blokes in one room that have R35's.....they're getting popular now!!

yep what a great night, its a shame they werent up to their usual schnitzel standards, im sure the committee can vouch for the usual quality!

Looking forward to a big 2010!

+1

Thanks to all who attended and enjoyed themselves.

And a personal thanks to Donnon and Munro for attending and catching a glimpse of what the club is about.

Stay tuned, more to come :)

It was a great night, and awesome to finally catch up with you guys.

I must say, i've never been in a room with so many men wanting to kidnap a baby!! lol

oh.. and i'm very proud of you luke!! :)

I quite literally shit myself, me and holding babies really doesn't go hand in hand. Cute little fella though

Thank you for trusting me with him

Thanks for organising the night Luke (Helso) & Steve (Madaz) and thanks Martin (HOSTILE) for providing the viewing pleasure of the GTRs racing around Bathurst.

Congrats to Ben (Dohmar) for SAU Club Person of the Year (I have your plaque mate) and congrats Troy (Sapphiregraphics) for Best presented SAU-SA Car (I can't remember the exact title of the award).

Thanks to everyone who came along especially Martin Donnon, John Munro & David (fungoolie) for representing the R35 GTRs.

It wasn't until everyone left that I realised how few I actually caught up with on the night - apologies to those I missed - I was engrossed in conversations with Martin, Ryan, Bec, Christine & Andrew for most of the night.

Madaz - FWIW I thought the food was pretty good but I was the 2nd last to receive their meal (I was one of the last to order though) which also contributed to my non-socialising.

I look forward to bigger and better events in 2010 as SAU-SA develops even more from the outstanding foundation the execs have set.

    • By popular demand.. it was a coil. Got my hands on 1 new OEM coil, replaced with the one that made the less noise difference when I unplugged it while the car was running and started the car up. No stutter and the engine light was gone. I guess I’ll buy the other 5 they have lol
    • No, code 21 is very straightforward. It can only be the things described in that diagnostic flow. In fact it has no way of knowing that the spark plug resistance is out of spec.
    • Hi, SteveL Thank you very much for your reply, you seem to be the only person on the net who has come up with a definitive answer for which I am grateful. The "Leak" was more by way of wet bubbles when the pedal was depressed hard by a buddy while trying to gey a decent pedal when bleeding the system having fitted the rebuilt BM50 back in the car, which now makes perfect sense. A bit of a shame having just rebuilt my BM50, I did not touch the proportioning valve side of things, the BM50 was leaking from the primary piston seal and fluid was running down the the Brake booster hence the need to rebuild, I had never noticed any fluid leaking from that hole previously it only started when I refitted it to the car. The brake lines in the photo are "Kunifer" which is a Copper/Nickel alloy brake pipe, but are only the ones I use to bench bleed Master cylinders, they are perfectly legal to use on vehicles here in the UK, however the lines on the car are PVF coated steel. Thanks again for clearing this up for me, a purchase of a new BMC appears to be on the cards, I have been looking at various options in case my BM50 was not repairable and have looked at the HFM BM57 which I understand is manufactured in Australia.
    • Well the install is officially done. Filled with fluid and bled it today, but didn't get a chance to take it on a test drive. I'll throw some final pics of the lines and whatnot but you can definitely install a DMAX rack in an R33 with pretty minor mods. I think the only other thing I had to do that isn't documented here is grind a bit of the larger banjo fitting to get it to clear since the banjos are grouped much tighter on the DMAX rack. Also the dust boots from a R33 do not fit either fyi, so if you end up doing this install for whatever reason you'll need to grab those too. One caveat with buying the S15 dust boots however is that the clamps are too small to fit on the R33 inner tie rod since they're much thicker so keep the old clamps around. The boots also twist a bit when adjusting toe but it's not a big deal. No issues or leaks so far, steering feels good and it looks like there's a bit more lock now than I had before. Getting an alignment on Saturday so I'll see how it feels then but seems like it'll be good to go
