Wakefield + R35 + Willall Tune + Slicks = ?

Recommended Posts

GGTTRR and I were at Wakefield Park today testing out the new Willall R35 tune, in addition to some Michelin and Dunlop slicks (2nd hand)...

Cars both run a mid pipe, tune, slicks and aftermarket rotors/pads ONLY....

Result:

Marek ran a 1:03.79

I ran a 1:04.00

I can't believe how quick these cars are, it's insane for a car driven to the track (in leather clad and aircon comfort) with essentially minimal mods. I can only fathom what these cars are capable of with some serious setup. You have to remember these cars weigh 1750kg....

Congrats Marek, great driving man.

Thanks Dunc

Clearly the Dunlop's are 0.21s quicker than the Michelin's

Great driving guys, duncan which pads & rotors, where do you get em and how much.

Dom

I am running Carbotech XP12's with AP Rotors

Marek is running Endless MX72's and AP Rotors.

I've had a quick drive in Mareks car and the MX72's feel better to me. I will not be buying the carbotechs again... I am very impressed with how much the endless pads look after Mareks discs too - they still look like new after two track days.

Forgot to mention that mine is a tarmac rally and occassional track use only vehicle. IE not used on the road.

would that nake a difference?

I really dont know anything about the demands of tarmac rallies (they scare the bejesus out of me btw!!) so i couldnt say, sorry mate. There are a few people on here who can help though, i am sure.

Unbelievable times guys. Well done! Where are you sourcing your 2nd hand slicks from?

Awesome work guys, thats motoring in anyones book! Great to see Marek out there and kicking some serious butt too.....looks like a two way fight for the title next year if ever I have seen one :)

That's the plan Martin, I don't want Duncan to have it all to himself :P

    • I know people cry at the price of the Getrag 12-14k for a conversion now, but it really is a nice mid point. Not going to get change from 10k on a gearset installed.  $30k++ for sequential.   I know you run the risk of a damaged used one and parts are hard to get but as a street car gearbox its really hard to beat. If you enjoy a more traditional manual, its the choice no question.
