I thought that might come up.

One is flash tuned with semi's [Evo]

The other one has Alcons, Nismo 1.5 way Diff, T04z, OS giken gearset, Ohlins coilovers,

fully forged bottom end etc. The car was putting out around 330 awkw low boost on that day with a crack in an intercooler hose and a very bad alignment. We will be using all 420awkw on the 11th of feb though and should see those times tumble!

The above 32 Gtr will decimate the almost stock Evo when its running more boost and a decent alignment, however

the cost of mods on that car alone is far more than the purchase price of an Evo IX or R34 GTR.

Oh, I assumed the GTR time in your sig was the R34GTR you mentioned earlier with the Teins and cat back exhaust.

Well that's a very respectable time for the Evo then against a T04Z'd GTR, although a turbo that size can be a downfall for sprints...

All the best with it...

You are spot on with the size of the turbo, Im confident though that there is a 56 in the car on high boost, it does take a bit of work keeping that montser on boost through the tighter sections!

You will love the GT-R.

I had a white R34 GTR with black TE37's,

tein coilovers, cat back. It was a beautiful car to look at and drive on the street.

stupidly low though! I thought i needed a 4dr so i bought an evo IX, flash tuned it,

bought a spare set of rims/semis. So i have experience with both

Nismoid is right when he says the Evo is a better track car dollar for dollar spent.

Not taking anything away from Mark Berrys amazing car though. The Evo is also alot cheaper to track than a gtr.

My GTR used to get hot very quickly, the evo on the other hand could do countless laps in qld heat.

The tyres give up before the Evo raises a sweat.

The GTR's with massive power are more fun to drive on a track than the Evo, but you need to spend the purchase price

again on mods to make them that fun. Also i have yet to see an Evo blow up on the circuit [not saying it doesnt happen]

but i have lost count of the amount of RB26's grenading themselves. That was my one concern with the 34, i always worried about it shitting

itself, the Evo i have alot more confidence in with regard to reliability.

The head should say Evo, the heart will always say GT-R!

Looks like you have gone with the Heart!

You wont regret it, but be sure to give way on the track to everyone that used their head!

hmmm thanks for that. i wont be doing any serious tracking. just to have fun and drive the car legally for what it was built for really. but before i plan on hitting the the track ill take car of the cooling side of things. and i dont think ill have the balls to go full tap as well. just enough to have fun with really.

and just saw pics of you 34. exactly what i am after. too bad its sold already .

but now i have another problem lol Vspec or non Vspec. i cant really justify spending another few $$$ for very small differances that i wont really feel...

Just carry more corner speed and hit the loud peddle early!!!!!

Sounds like the R32 is a weapon....

Yeah it was such a good looking car, The amount of people that looked at the car was incredible and it wasnt just skyline drivers, even old people must of thought it looked good!! hahaha. The Evo hardly raises an eyebrow, only other Evo owners and Lancer drivers :D But none of that matters to me.

I seldom ever drive them on the road, and when i do its to get somewhere, not cruise.

I would of liked the V-spec, but the only thing i wanted one for was the diffusers, mine had the front lip and nismo side skirts etc.

I dont think the different rear diff makes a noticable difference and the exhaust temp, inlet temp wont be something you need

to monitor at all during street use, so more asthetics than anything.

I wouldnt worry too much if you find one that isnt, but if your not in a hurry the V-specs dont seem to be worth that much more than a std anymore.

So it might be worth the wait to get exactly what your after!

Make sure you post some pics when you get one!!!

cool thanks.

ye not in any rush. have other cars to run around in so until i find one that pretty much reaches out to me and slaps me across the face and says "buy me" (vspec or non Vspec) ill keep looking :D

I never drove an R34 GT-R but I will probably get the GT-R over the Evo if you are really looking for something more pimp and "supercarlike"

The Evo is a great car for the money, very easy to mod and better to drive ( I think ) DD.

It all depend of what you want to do with the car as well, track? rally? street?

Also can't beat the sound of the 6cylinders, that's a thing the Evo will never be able to do.

But saying an Evo is boring to drive... the guy probably wasn't in boost. J/k

Don't forget 2.0L single T vs 2.6L TT... duh

You have just got to be kidding me right?!

Sure the Evo's a good things, quick point to point et all.... but, they're glorified shopping trolleys, and they drive and feel like that.

A 34 GTR is a special car, every time you jump in it brings a smile. Looks special, feels special, sounds special, IS special.

Truthfully, we're not talking about track performance here are we, so no, there is no comparison. 34 GTR all the way.

:):)

    • I checked the injectors again (1 and 2, since they’re easiest to access) to make sure they weren’t clogged. Even though the entire fuel system had been cleaned, I wanted to be certain. Everything looked clean, so I reinstalled and connected everything. When I started the car to confirm everything was okay, it immediately revved up high, so I shut it off straight away. I checked to see if I’d missed a vacuum hose or something, but everything was connected. On the second attempt, the car ran without the high idle, but I noticed a distinct “compressed air” sound coming from the engine bay. Tracing the sound, I pushed injector #6 forward slightly and the noise stopped — it turned out it wasn’t seated properly, despite the fuel rail being bolted down. While holding it in place, the car idled steadily without stalling and ran for over 5 minutes. At this point, I pulled all six injectors out just in case I hadn’t seated them correctly or dirt had gotten onto the O-rings. Unfortunately, I discovered that I had damaged 3 out of 6 injectors (the OEM 270cc ones) during installation. So yes, this was my fault. Since only the pintle caps were damaged, I’ve ordered a Fuel Injector Service Kit from NZEFI to refurbish them. In the meantime, I reinstalled my new injectors – the car now idles fine for over 15 minutes without stalling. I have not attempted to drive it so far. It’s not perfect yet, as it hesitates when the throttle is pressed, but it’s a big improvement. Unplugging the IACV with the new injectors idles at around 800rpm, even with the IACV screw tightened fully. But this is probably due to tune.
    • I wanted to try and preserve the front bumper as long as possible, they're not cheap and are made to order in Japan. Taking inspiration from my previous K11 Micra build where I made an undertray for the Impul bumper, I did the same for this BN Sports bumper but a little slimmed down.  This time round I only made a 'skid plate' (if that's the correct wording/term) for just the bumper surface area, the Micra version covered the gap like an undertray. Starting off with a sheet of mild steel approx. 0.9mm thick 4ft x 2ft in size. I traced around the bumper, cut it out and cleaned the edges. Luckily I was able to get two halves from one piece of metal In the video I installed it as is, but I've since then I've removed it to spray and add a rubber edging trim. The rubber trim is suitable for 1-2mm and it's a really nice tight fit. The bolts had to be loosened due to the plates being too tight against the bumper, the trim wouldn't push on I used some stainless M6 flat headed bolts for a flusher finish (rather than hex heads poking down), I believe this style fastener is used for furniture too incase you struggle to source some. The corner's are a little wider, but this may be an advantage incase I get close to bumping it  The front grill got some attention, finally getting round to repairing it. Upon removal one fixing pulled itself out of the plastic frame, one side is M8 that fixes inside of the frame, where as the other side is M5. Not knowing I could get replacements, I cut down an M8 bolt, threaded it inside the frame along with a decent amount of JB Weld.  The mesh was replaced to match the bumper. One hole on the bonnet/hood had to be drilled out to 8mm to accommodate the new stud, once the glue had set it could be refitted. I think the reason the grill was double meshed was to hide the horn/bonnet latch (which makes sense) but I much prefer it matching the bumper Bumper refitted and it's looking much better IMO The Youtube video can be seen here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bVZP35io9MA
