haha last year in Scarborough beach in perth there was this huge burnout thing in the carpark that started, with people lifting up cars to make em do burnouts n stuff if they didnt have the power.

i wanted to leave but got boxed in had to do burnout in my sil80, had about 6-7 bogans run up and grab the front wheel arches and lift em up ! lol had a few cluey people in the crowd yelling 'its RWD u fools!'

then i did a bit, with some BOV PTSH in between gears and wotnot, turbo induction noise, then as im taking off and the cheering etc has died down from my attempt, some1 goes 'hey wait was that ... TURBO!?!? AWESOME!' haha

got loads of 'wat the hell is that car?' with it being a sil80, u could never use it to pick up chicks .. !

chick = nice car!

me = thanks! :)

chick = wat is it?

me = nissan ... sil80 ...

now i have a DR30 skyline! this is a fun car for attention. lots of people thumbs up and knwing encouraging nods of approval haha

some guy like 40yr old when i was in freo yells 'Holy SHIT! thats an RS! They used to race them shits when i was younger! Give it curry mate!!!!'

i had to oblige ;D

DR30 has a bit of rust to fix n some maintanence to get it sweet, but damn gota love driving a rare classic :rolleyes:

I have a R31 GTS-R with a huge custom widebody.

And always get " What the f@ck is that? " even by many uninformed 32/33/34 Skyline owners.

Afetr telling them what it is I get " Ohh.. GTR hey they've got twin turbos yeah "

Which I just say " Um yeah GTRs have twin turbos " and proceed on my way.

And like most, I guess I get the common " HOWMUCHWASSIT ".

Ok....I wanna ad this here...

Dear D***HEAD (who lives down summerville Road, Hornsby Heights)

No! I DON'T think you are cool and I have NO respect for you at all...

I HATE how everytime you drive past my house in your STOCK STANDARD HR31 Skyline (aust version).... with all your dinted pannels, smoky exhaust and dying engine noise (especially when you feel the need to rev the tits off it); that you feel the need to scream at the top of your lungs:

"YEAH! SKYLINE! FULLY SICK BRO! YEAH!"

You're not cool!!! You're not funny!!! and even though you're skyline is a POS that has had it guts thrashed out of it... you out SHAME to the SKYLINE badging on it....

SO.... IN CLOSING...

Next time you feel the need to scream at the top of your lungs at me or my girlfriend (or at our window at night while we're trying to sleep).... I will pick a weapon from the house and i will come and beat the living S*** out of you!

To be blunt: F*** OFF!!!!

I hope you can read this...(if you're literate enough, whilst putting on your stupid wog accent and screaming at AUSTRALIANS with JAPANESE cars!, while you, too are AUSTRALIAN)

Yours truly,

The bloke who is sick of your shit!

(P.S. To all.... TRUE STORY!)

yes... i know what you mean DJ...

at least they say something to you.... the guy's round here drive into the housing complex looking at my "STOCKER!!!!" (hahahah D!ck head he was) and when i see them driving around they just stare.

Sometimes i wish they would yell something... as the silence is scarier than the comment's...

Loz

I've only had a few comments. Most people like to keep quiet.

I've had the "how much was it?" "light it up" "omgaskyline" etc...

3 months of ownership and zero drags...a very good thing...I still have 12 points.

meet up with an old friend i haven't seen in years. i was in gtr he was with a mate in a commodore at the lights (don't know what model, they all look the same to me) he was asking me to "see what japan's finest can do" the lights changed green and they took off, i wasn' ready for it at all (forgot to up the boost+ passenger was still talking to me when lights changed) they had instantly a 2 car lead.

me forgot to dump clutch, just floored it, by the time i missed second straight into third i overtook them with a 4 car lead. passenger said his friend in holden will be getting a supercharger kit for his next week, after they eventually caught up. it's been a month and i haven't seen them.

during summernats cruising natex in gtr with another friend in his, he got the shits with the yobbo's yelling "do a 4wd burnout" (i was impressed thinking damn they are getting cluey these days) so he pulled over, took his fuse out (r32 gtr) and proceded to a nice tyre frying session that left them all with their jaws dropped, i drove onwards (friend was in front) and yelled out "close you're mouth you guys look retarded"

friend in gtr got kicked out the complex, but returned the next day, different security guards were working.

on another note had bonnet open for it to cool off during the nats and the occasional yobbo coming up saying "pphhwwaarr look it says RB26, might as well say R2D2"

"look it has twin turbo's"

"look at it's top speed 320km" (nismo speedo)

"wow look carbon bonnet" (in which i had to tell them not to touch after they started, bending and playing with bonnet)

DJ984, sorry to laugh dude but thats the most entertaining post I have ever seen on any forum.

I literally can see some moron hanging out their window saying "YEAH! SKYLINE! FULLY SICK BRO! YEAH!"

I am pissing myself laughing just typing this.

Hope ya catch the twit, it is a bit rude when people are asleep and all.

My dad built a kit car a few years back.

He put a 6.3l V8 Chevvy in there so it was an immense sounding engine. People didn't really say much when he passed them, but those who didn't shit themselves when he revved the engine just stared in wonder at what it was!

One time, he was filling up and a guy ran over saying "Oh my god! That's an Ultima GTR!!! I saw one on Top Gear!".. My dad ended up taking the guy up the motorway in it for a few miles when the man's phone went off....

..."Hi honey, I can't hear you but you'll never guess what... i'm in an ultima gtr! LISTEN"

...and the guy actually put his phone up against the engine bay!!!!!!!!

Another time my dad was coming up to some traffic lights and stopped in the queue just as a woman on a bike was going alongside. He revved the engine and she was so shocked she fell off!!

That car was a lot of fun. 450bhp naturally aspirated, 0-60 in 3.6 seconds.

    • Thanks for that, I'll check it all out. I can always do the brakes last anyway if its a problem.  The 16's are super cool, if they do fit I'll cruise around with them for a bit.
    • Well, that's kinda the point. The calipers might interfere with the inside of the barrels 16" rims are only about 14" inside the barrels, which is ~350mm, and 334mm rotors only leave about 8mm outboard for the caliper before you get to 350, And.... that;s not gunna be enough. If the rims have a larger ID than that, you might sneak it in. I'd be putting a measuring stick inside the wheel and eyeballing the extra required for the caliper outboard of the rotor before committing to bolting it all on.
    • OK, so again it has been a bit of a break but it was around researching what had been done since I didn't have access to Neil's records and not everything is obvious without pulling stuff apart. Happily the guy who assembled the engine had kept reasonable records, so we now know the final spec is: Bottom end: Standard block and crank Ross 86.5mm forgies, 9:1 compression Spool forged rods Standard main bolts Oil pump Spool billet gears in standard housing Aeroflow extended and baffled sump Head Freshly rebuilt standard head with new 80lb valve springs Mild porting/port match Head oil feed restrictor VCT disabled Tighe 805C reground cams (255 duration, 8.93 lift)  Adjustable cam gears on inlet/exhaust Standard head bolts, gasket not confirmed but assumed MLS External 555cc Nismo injectors Z32 AFM Bosch 023 Intank fuel pump Garret 2871 (factory housings and manifold) Hypertune FFP plenum with standard throttle   Time to book in a trip to Unigroup
    • I forgot about my shiny new plates!
    • Well, apparently they do fit, however this wont be a problem if not because the car will be stationary while i do the suspension work. I was just going to use the 16's to roll the old girl around if I needed to. I just need to get the E90 back on the road first. Yes! I'm a believer! 🙌 So, I contacted them because the site kinda sucks and I was really confused about what I'd need. They put together a package for me and because I was spraying all the seat surfaces and not doing spot fixes I decided not to send them a headrest to colour match, I just used their colour on file (and it was spot on).  I got some heavy duty cleaner, 1L of colour, a small bottle of dye hardener and a small bottle of the dye top coat. I also got a spray gun as I needed a larger nozzle than the gun I had and it was only $40 extra. From memory the total was ~$450 ish. Its not cheap but the result is awesome. They did add repair bits and pieces to the quote originally and the cost came down significantly when I said I didn't need any repair products. I did it over a weekend. The only issues I had were my own; I forgot to mix the hardener into the dye two coats but I had enough dye for 2 more coats with the hardener. I also just used up all the dye because why not and i rushed the last coat which gave me some runs. Thankfully the runs are under the headrests. The gun pattern wasn't great, very round and would have been better if it was a line. It made it a little tricky to get consistent coverage and I think having done the extra coats probably helped conceal any coverage issues. I contacted them again a few months later so I could get our X5 done (who the f**k thought white leather was a good idea for a family car?!) and they said they had some training to do in Sydney and I could get a reduced rate on the leather fix in the X5 if I let them demo their product on our car. So I agreed. When I took Bec in the E39 to pick it up, I showed them the job I'd done in my car and they were all (students included) really impressed. Note that they said the runs I created could be fixed easily at the time with a brush or an air compressor gun. So, now with the two cars done I can absolutely recommend Colourlock.  I'll take pics of both interiors and create a new thread.
