I've been pondering for some time now over a used Nismo 1.5 way unit and it's not cheap.

Also come across two people today that have broken them.

They aren't entirely billet steel construction like Cusco or Kaaz according to Advan.

Additionally they cost $600 or so more.

As everyone says the Nismo is the least clunky/noisy but what are it's limits ?

My scenario :

337 rwkw, say 4 tracks days per year, street driven once per week.

What do you reckon ?

I wanted a Nismo too but ended up buying a Tomei Trax at a very good price.

Bedding in a diff properly and using proper oil makes all the difference. I would suggest finding cars with different diffs try to get in and have a feel for them.

What is the right way to bedding in a diff? didn't even realise you needed to do anything like that

I think you have to find yourself and empty carpark or warehouse and drive figure of 8's slowly for about 20 minutes.

Then change the oil straight away.

1st thing you do, before you drive anywhere if possible

1st gear figure 8's for 20 min, remembering to clutch in before the car turns, and clutch out after the car is straight again

i have had a gt lsd pro tt 1.5 for a year in my daily, it has seen hills, track, drift and 7 day use with 300rwkw, still perfect :)

i just change the diff oil with the engine oil every 5k
