Hi all, its been about 1 month after my car got smashed(orginal message below).

Last night my car was broken in to at chadstone shopping center from btw 6:30p.m to 9:30 p.m.

bah this sux so bad, just got my rear lights smashed randomly 1 month ago, now some bastards try to steal my car. ffs how is my luck?

Take a look at the damage they done ;(

Look at pic4, thats right, they sawed off the fkn metal ignition key.

Guess i should be happy the car wasnt gone. thank god to the alarm, or some 1 busting them makign them bolt.

but still it all hurts.

just got back from my gf's place before, jumped in my car switched on the lights and start driving back home. Everything seemed to be cool.

On my way home i saw some other car with their lights off. so i decided to signal them by turning off light then back on (2 times). The 2nd time i realised i had no more light in my dash board also my boost gauge. At this point i thogut i blew the fuse.

So i stopped the car jumped out and went to look at the rear.

My lights were practicaly smashed.

No bumper marks to indicate a hit from behind. On the left 1 whole light was smashed to the point i could see the globe inside and was hanging out of place. On the right side set of lights the casing was smashed leaving holes.

How can this happen? i have no enemies. Havnt had a dispute with anyone recently nor within the past 5+yrs. facted is i park at her house often for months now, why not doing it before why now?

Now i need help to find where i can get spare rear headlights

fark this suck ;(

Loud exhaust p|ssing the neighbours off?

Sh|tty little kids in the area?

My gfs neighbour use to get pretty annoyed with people parking on the road next to his house (weird weird people) and they would do various things which included spitting on my car to covering my car in cut grass

yes..i came back to the car with it COVERED in grass, now THATS what i call effort

But id suspect it sh|tty little kids thinking theyre big boys by smashing someone property

Sorry to year dude ;)

yes indeed jealousy is a curse. I had an egg thrown at my car one night when it was parked outside my ex girlfriends house (on a main rd). They actually pulled over and tooted the horn, we looked out the window but couldnt really see thru bushes, and didnt bother checking up on it. Found out later when I went to go home....

    • The downside of this is when you try to track the car, as soon as you hit ABS you get introduced to a unbled system. I want to avoid this. I do not want to bleed/flush/jack up the car twice just to bleed the f**kin car.
    • But again, the engineers said your cast aluminium would be fine based on the load that would be stretching that section. Same load stretching the bolts in a flex (not the twist), with a much smaller cross sectional area than the original part you've broken. It's why you'd need to be using higher strength bolts, but that's just making up for the strength you lose with less area...
    • I am truly amazed someone on this planet was able to cycle the pump using a scan tool. I've always ghetto cycled them on Nissan 90s shit boxes by slamming the brakes and pulling the handbrake to agitate the rear wheels enough to cause a speed difference
    • I didn't actually try it at the time but a Launch X431 with the appropriate software licenses/upsell will have the ABS bleed function. The Consult II you can still find some old sets of equipment but they're really, really expensive:
    • Well I'll start by saying I'm not an engineer. I am going to go with the KiwiCNC ones.  They are made of 7050 alloy have good fillets and radius.  The material alone is in the order of double the strength and fatigue resistance - Those bolts, once torqued correctly place most of the load at the flat face of the mating surface - the 'stretch' you're talking about through torqueing them up would be far more than the extra stretch 'load' placed on them from a steering input or bump. (in my opinion) so I doubt they would flinch.    - but again "not an engineer".      oh and I don't think stitch welding 7050 is a good idea, likely just weaken the material (from what I read)
