Pod filter needs to be fully enclosed, and even that sometimes isnt enough. BOV needs to be plumb back. Bear in mind that it also depends on the cop at the time, I worked with a guy at one point who got defected for his stock BOV :P

That's pretty much what happened to the other half with the b.o.v

thanks mate

Dont quote me on it. But ive done a bit of research on the rules. And from memory A Pod filter has to be fully enclosed but u can use the guard and the bonnet to form some of the sides. And only catch with the BOV is its not allowed to vent to atmosphere. thing is with a Pod on it sounds like it vents to atmosphere.

But again dont quote me on it.

Anyway have a look on the transport web site. its there somewhere. takes a bit to find it but its there.

make an enclosure and take it to get cleared

pod laws vary state to state, in qld it used to just be that it must be secured and unable to move more than 10cm or something crazy

but i think qld police get cops from different states cos i've been told by a cop that my pod was flat out illegal

just had a quick google and pretty much every australian forum has a thread like this and most say that in nsw the pod has to be "enclosed"

re the venting noises, thats the stock plumb back bov doing its job, go talk to the police station that issued the defect and show them the return line

then also remind them that its a family wagon

Write in and contest the fine on the bov. Get a stock snorkel and airbox with a highflow filter and problem solved.

(BTW the bov on my truck sounds like a trumpet but the cops never pull me for that!)

I guy on these forums posted a tutorial on how to enclose one with a bucket or icecream container. LOL

that was me, i was gonna suggest it but i thought it would annoy too many ppl as no one thought it was a joke

    • Does it also misfire equally when revving?   Josh is very correct in what you should do. The coilpack harness wiring loom itself is a known problem due to its age and the number of heat cycles it has gone through. Throwing parts at a vehicle to diagnose the issue isn't a smart or good way to do it. Secondly, you may have a bad coil pack, you pop replacements in, they fix that issue, but messing with the harness breaks it, so the issue persists. So now you think "well it wasn't the coil packs" and have to continue chasing your tail, potentially swapping back in your shit coil packs and returning the good ones (yes, I've seen people do this because 'it wasn't the problem' and they want to save money). And suddenly, you've got two issues with the same symptoms...   Diagnose, don't use the spare parts shotgun.
